  • If the band wasn't there to make the song sound like shit, Leno would be BEGGING Newton to come back to the show

  • Sorry, reflectionpoint , but where did you see this rulebook of artist's rights - it doesn't exist! You are just making an assumption that Newton had any choice in this matter. Unless you have vast experience as an international artist, what do you base this on?

  • the thing we have to remember is the artist has the right to decline the band's accompaniment. In this case Newton chose to have a bassist and a drummer because (I assume) this is the sound he wanted for this appearance. I think it's pulled off well. Maybe not his most passionate rendition of this song--but you have to recognize he is in a small studio with a small audience, not on stage with a thousand people in front of him to feed off of. It's calm, clean, and presents well for national TV.

  • The drummer was great, flawless. He kept the time and didn't get in the way. Newton missed his chord on the bridge, which is an honest mistake and I wouldn't take any points away from him. Very creative effort with the guitarist doing percussive fill in on the bridge. It sounded disjointed though from the rest of the song.

  • Why the hell use a drummer? Newton's percussion is much better suited for this song. I love his music but if I wanted to hear a version that sounded like this on guitar I would play it myself. He does look bored with a drumer.

  • that drummer is actually shite. he should have just done him and his acoustic.

  • I think he missed a chord change because he was distracted by how awful the drummer was... :D

  • Spellcheck you muppets. He's really good no electronic enhancements.

  • I thought that was really poor, he has performed better

  • thats the worst performace ive seen him do...actully dissapointing as usually he is the best....

  • truely one of my faviorite performers. the guys just has such soul.. trust the americans to zoom in on his face during the percussionistic paying. twats.

  • leave it to a tommy to generalize an entire people.

  • hahahaha you serious?? way to prove my point knob

  • I was proving the point. How is that not obvious?

  • Great musician and songwriter - sooo nervous!

  • Awesome guy and musician

  • haha...notice the grin at 3:20 when he missed a chord while playing the percussive part.

  • @applecross20 this guy is amazing, the way he deal with those things is just fantastic! no bullshit and shame when he miss a chord, just a little grin! he is the shit! Cheers

  • @applecross20 barely

  • @applecross20 eheh he's funny xD

  • you are my best idol:D

  • i cant believe that camera man missed the whole percussion!!! zoom out faster you morron.,.,.,., OR DONT ZOOM OUT AT ALL. that was the best bit! fire that camera man!

  • @charliesmakinme i work in music prodution and it would be the directors fault, as the camera man follows specific instructions from director, wich are done previosly duringe sound cheaks and rehaursals just thought i add that but yer ur right dodgy focusing

  • magico...

  • The sound of this is just simply pleasant and lovely. =3

  • Why the hell is Leno so ORANGE at the start. Jesus

  • Hi Newton, we met briefly at the westfield shopping centre on the 1st December (I was speaking with Lotte) she gave me her business card but i must have miss placed it coz I cant find it unfortunately. Anyway, nice to meet you and great music you have bro! Keep it up! Tony (Inventor)

  • I just found out Newton is from Reigate, I could not be happier. YAY !

  • He played a charity gig at St Bedes a couple of months ago, great performance. The place was completely packed

  • ughh so jealous, I live in the US now hah

  • this man is a legend with a special talent. saw him at the Isle of Wight Festival a few years ago, amazing!!

  • LOL 3.20...

got it man .... u are the best anyway.

  • i think any newtmeister fans out there can agree, he would have been a million times better acoustic, get rid of the sleeping drummer and the pointless bass. faulkner+guitar-backround noise=heaven

  • Drummer with no feeling or expression? Everybody expresses themselves differently and who are you to judge this drummer? What famous band are you in? Exactly!

  • I agree with you on almost everything... but why would he have to be in a famous band to "judge him"? Whether or not somebody is famous or not is irrelevant. What matters in knowledge and skill. Jesus christ, look at Lars Ulrich! That's one of the worst drummers I can think of, and he is STILL in Metallica, one of the most famous bands ever. Get the point?

  • "too shay"

  • Touche

  • 3:13-3:20 baaaad camera work, gotta be able to see the tapping!

  • i thought the same.. i hate when that happens in porn too, you know when u see a face too long when u know theres something much more interesting going on lol

  • HAHAHA. best comment i have read this year so far. Kudos sir! :P

  • I've played drums for 9 years among other instruments for quite a few years. The drummer is playing with NO feeling. No accents etc etc to make it sound nice. Is just bashing the shit out of it, and also gets so excited and speeds up during chorus/bridge, then slows down to normal speed during verse.

  • Im sure newton knew, and had his say in exactly what the drummer was going to play beforehand. I dont think this was improvised you retard. It was to show off newton, not some random backing artists. Im sure firstly he wanted them to play like that, and secondly the point isnt for anyone else to steal his limelight. You may have played drums for a while, but i suggest you go to school too.

  • honestly, my brother CAN play better drums... But as always, NEWTON WAS GREAT

  • the best bit is from 3:12 to 3:24... when the drummers not playing!

  • is it me or does that drummer keep speeding up?? ever so slightly, but you can really tell :S

  • Poor Newton looks so nervous. Damn drummer, Newton is better than all of them put together!

  • gawd newtons a better drummer than that guy

  • Haha the drummer is totally rocking it up. Newton would have brought the house down without that clown on the kit

    but thats my opinion :D

    peace out folk :D

  • Drums are way to fast!

  • The drummers not that good, wat hes playin is piss. not braggin or anything but hes not the drums arent amazin

  • The drummer is great - the bit where it sounds like it 'goes off' is because Newton is palming the body of the guitar with his hand. Didn't quite work, the tv cameras should have caught it anyway.

  • lol wtf is the drummer doin

  • Jay Leno = Weird looking mofo...

  • what a nice song!!!! wow... today i discover a new fantastic artist!

  • from 3:13 to 3:23 he uses his palm on the body of the guitar to percuss. Newton Faulkner doesn't need a drummer!!

  • ive just been to see him in newcastle and hes better live than he is on his CD's XD love this guy a living legend :)

  • HAHAHAHAH so do i asanchez335 !!!!

  • I hope he fired that drummer.

  • didnt know he ever played with a band, first time ive seen him play with one anyway

just saw him in belfast tonight, had the crowd singing to almost every word of every song hes a legend.

  • too fast

  • doesn't help the drummer is slightly speeding up!

  • Poor Faulkner! We love you! Or at least I love you! Haha, he's such an amazing guy and his music is so good....I hope he gets a lot of recognition here in the States. He deserves it.

  • ffs just enjoy or fuck off !!

  • he doesnt normally sound like this, i think his nerves are getting to him, his voice is really tremble-y

  • I think it sounds like Pearl Jam, isn't it? The guy's voice similar to Eddie's.

    Great performer!

  • Newton you absolute legend, I love you and your ways, keep going man

  • not his best! it sounded like nerves took over. but he is still amazing.

  • not the best

  • I really think Newton doesn't a band, the drum is completely out here.

  • I dnt think the drumming is that bad, but it does kinda take the originality out of what he does. So im with you, and i dnt think that newton needs them, but i gess since this was his first international performance he had to do things the way the americans do it?

  • Definitely. He was probably told to 'play it safe' for the American market because it was his first performance there. If they saw him hitting his guitar all the time they'd probably refer him to a psychologist.

  • Jay Leno looks like an Oompa Loompa

  • I wonder why these kind of fucktards happen to appear on every link and post some very increasingly fucked up comments which in no way are relevant to the original link. Plenty of time I guess. Clean a pool or something and write a book about it king of underground trash!

  • the auto cue is a bit too low for yellow Jay :P

    great performance

  • Man why the hell is Jay yellow?! Seriously like, the colour of him!

    Gwahahahahaha!

    Mad shit.

  • fucking jaundice man hahahahaha!!!!

  • and here was me thinking we watched this video for the video.

    great song

  • ha ha you really take this stuff too seriously. There's so much I could say to respond to this comment but what's the point. I think the majority of people who read your comments will realise who the "fucking moron" is!

  • therealsolstice...regardless of all the shit, that you've got too much time on your hands to find out about! Do you not think it's a brilliant song? If not, what's the point in going out your way to talk shit about a song that most people have come on here to appreciate. Why not save your energy to praise up the acts you do like?

  • holy shit fuckbrain... there's absolutely nothing brilliant about this song. as i've previously stated, do you have any idea how many people have used that formula?

please... just don't reply. i think yur obviously a fucking moron, so why bother responding to someone who has absolutely no faith in your ability to process/contemplate/grow?

there isn't a single fuckin thing anyone's said here that isn't already lightyear's behind where i've been on the subject.

    his "fans" don't get it

  • Some people want to make music as a full-time profession rather then having to work in Starbucks on the side. Your bound to sound like a twat worrying about "pop formulas" because you like slightly underground musicians.

  • You're.

  • seriously I rush sometimes, leave me alone, lol.

  • Wow, therealsolstice, you must be the coolest! ooh... LMAO

  • sounds alot like pearl jam!...thats a good thing

  • therealsolstice. you sure got a bug up your ass about something. chill out, it will eat you away if you dont.

  • i'd also like to add, for everyone, that his real name isn't even newton. it's sam. he just goes by newton cuz it sounds more eclectic.. and i can say the same thing for his dreds. sam is probably short for samson. cut off his dreds and suddenly he'll be in the middle of the pack of 1000 average tap style guitarists out there, that are just like him.

wanna know what my idea of great tap style is? Erik Mongrain. you've pro'lly never heard of him cuz yur all radio-trained tools

  • newton is his name, it's his second name. His first is samuel but his full name is Samuel Newton Battenbourg Faulkner.

  • music is music

and this song is great in every element

    the groove is amazing

the singing the armony the melody are just perfect

  • And if he is a sellout....what was his purpose? to be poor like us? don't think so matey....everyone is looking for a niche somewhere....we all have a place...and I think Newton has a higher place than you......that surely can't be in question......you are a half empty guy aren't you? Bet Newton isn't!

  • i'm completely in agreement with tornado1 on this one. therealsolstice is displaying immense ignorance of music and a lot more besides.

  • you're projecting ignorance at me because we're discussing something outside of your sphere of awareness.

i suspect you're probably not even intelligent enough to comprehend the above statement, let alone everything i've been talking about.

let it be known that anyone who says a fucking word to me, in disagreement with my opinions about this matter with faulkner, is a fucking ignorant moron who's piped up long before they came close to understanding where i'm coming from.

    ya fuckin idiots

  • i'm only listening to this song because a friend of mine wants me to play it at her wedding. just reading THEREALSOLSTICE's comments. You're a typically bitter musical anorak. I say that because you can't just keep your opinions to yourself and think that ever chord progression has to mean something or has to be totally different. this song does nothing for me neither but I'm sure Newton can take the money and go home and be as artsy fartsy as he likes!!!

  • to be fair, he probably didn't have alot of say in what song he got to play, this being the single at the time...gotta keep the masses happy, although i would've liked to see something else on here

  • HOLY SELLOUTS BATMAN!!! WHAT A TYPICAL POP ARRANGEMENT FOR SUCH A TALENTED GUITARIST. HONESTLY... I JUST LOST 100% RESPECT FOR THIS FUCKIN IDIOT FOR PLAYING THOSE 4 CHORDS ON LENO..... FUCKIN SELLOUT PIECE OF POSER-HIPPIE SHIT.

i bet he doesn't know a damn thing about rastafarianism either. i'm not saying i do.... but then again, i don't have dreds.

bottom line: once again, the allure of fame consumes another individual.

  • rastafarianism:- so before anyone can get dreads, they should research the history of the haircut???? ha ha ha.....tit

  • put the dred opinion aside and look at the core of what i'm saying

the shape that D, A, Bm, G follows (in any key) is thee most typical popularly selling 4-chord 4/4-time structure in existence.

there's 2 kinds of musicians; fan's musicians and musicians musicians. only fan's musicians use this formula because fans are like sheep and the familiarity is comfy. by mixing up the instrumentation and subtleties in arrangement, they're fooled into believing they're hearing something original.

  • a musician's musician is about breaking through new ground and vulnerably exploring.

newton has some really great songs... but i'm chastising him because he chose to play this one on TV, instead of taking the chance to show TV land something fresh.

for that ultra pussy move, he's a sellout. i hope he enjoys his money... cuz he sure as shit isn't gonna get real respect from any real musicians.

he's gonna have to go hang out with miley cyrus, kelly clarkson, and the jonas brothers now.

  • LMAO!

    are u fucking kidding me?!

you try writing a song or melodic motif as catchy as that?!

    that goes to number one.

If i did that, i'd play it anywhere and everywhere i could and be fuckin proud of it!

and don't pretend if you did, you would'nt do the same.

ur a lil stuck up tbh.

  • omfg are YOU fucking kidding ME? do you have any fucking clue how easy it is to write a song with the chords D, A, Bm, G????

WHY you may ask??? because it's been done 100s of times in pop music for the last 20 years. it's an old formula.. and he's just another shameless sellout cashing in on it.

it's ok when pop stars do it cuz none of their fans (sheep) are musicians, and don't realize they're being fooled.

but, it's not ok when some dredded hippie does it. he just looks like a tool

  • I aint talking about the CHORD PROGRESSION u freaking idiot!!!

    I no it's played easily!

The thing that makes this song so gd is that, despite the guitar being so easy, the vocals over it hav such a distinctive catchy melody, that they make the song wat it is.

    The guitar doesn't hav 2 b hard!

    THATS wat i meant!

  • If u were an appriciative musician u might understand that, rather than,

& i am just guessing here...

somebody who likes 2 pick up an electric guitar & play as many notes as he can in the smallest amount of time convincing himself he's done something great?

    When you reach number one...

    throw me a comment.

  • no dood... i'm nothing like that. i hate speed metal, and noodlers.

it's not about it being just 4 chords. it's about it being those specific 4 chords.... because those specific 4 chords ARE WHAT KEEP SELLING #1 HITS.

i literally just got back 5 mins ago from seeing xavier rudd in concert. i also went to my dads and picked up a giant rain stick and a new usb condensor mic he picked up for me from the music store he works/teaches at.

    that was my evening.

    btw frusciante is my hero.

  • hahaa ooh right okay.

    in which case,

    i appoligise for what i said. :)

but, i mean, you understand what i mean right, as simple and overly used as those chords are, (of which i do see where ur coming from)

it's his use of like assending and decending vocal melody and the notes he reaches (like...high F# with his chest)

If i could right something that catchy, i'd be proud to play it, thats all.

We can agree to disagree. :)

  • my entire point, thus far, has been that he uses those chords as a vehicle to layer the fooling vocals over top. having a good voice isn't always easy... but singing itself, as in coming out with vocal scales, is super super easy... and comes naturally. it's how those scales relate that makes it hard, and the base of that is arrangement.

he's not a musicians musician. he's a fans musician. all us musicians musicians rag on fans musicians. we're tight, and they're all true loners

  • hahaha ur a complete cock mate!!!!! hes a pretty damn good guitarist and a good singer and a fucking nice bloke met him at the cambridge folk fair... ur the kinda person that listens to obscure music and loves dissonance music such as schoenberg because it is original!! u will never be able to write a decent song that people will want to listen to that is original as believe it or not there were people before you!!! any piece of music will relate to another piece of music its called inspiration!

  • damn straight. 'Bricolage' is a theory that basically states that everything we do is a representation of something we've seen or heard before, otherwise we wouldn't know how to do it. Like TS Eliot's 'The Waste Land'.

  • ... because real artists know what they did and don't respect them. sure we all smile and laugh and make nice... but it's just bullshit. they go to fake parties with other fakes and drink their expensive wines and 20 year old scotch and talk business..... while we're jamming and finding new ways to relate to each other.

i was at a party a few years ago, and sam roberts was there. he's really friendly, so i said "you really put my faith back in pop music". he knew what i meant.

  • i'm not talking out of my ass about this. i've been gigging since I was 18 (that's the minimum age to play in bars in canada).

i keep my identity completely hidden on youtube... because i say a lot of controversial things, and i can be a total asshole about it.... but that's the beauty of youtube. i can be completely honest, and it won't hurt my reputation.

i've been promoting shows and recording bands since 2003. this is all based on experience. i'm just bluntly voicing for a collective

  • so you're saying you're not an asshole in real life?

You're talking about how good it is to have the freedom to channel your opinion through Youtube. But you are at the same time taking others' opinions away from them by telling them that they're wrong, accompanied by a couple of four-lettered expletives...

  • I'm a musician, have been since before you were able to walk and I like this song. To drop some knowledge on you Newton (Sam) has been playing since he could hold a guitar and has been tutored by some of the best musicians in the world. His father has spent every penny and every effort to help him achieve what he has today.

When you're handed a major record contract you can decide whether u want 2 b successful or not, but for now get over yourself cos you dont have that option.

  • then yur probably a fan's musician so fuck off

  • Considering I've never written anything anyone else likes that's probably not true. There's only 1 type of musician, one that plays music, for whatever reason they want. Any song that's ever had commercial success has been written for one purpose and one purpose only, listen closely now, because they wanted 2 make their living from making music. Music is subjective which makes all opinions valid, however if ur living does not soley come from music maybe, just maybe, you're doing something wrong?

  • yeah mate, not so sure about that one... I'm a musician, played guitar since I was 9. all types...classical, acoustic, rock, so i wouldn't say i'm a 'sheep' when it comes to music, but I can appreciate this music. Yes, this song is easy, obviously, but easy doesn't mean bad. simple is often best, and he does simple well.

anyway, all you have to do is look at the rest of his stuff to know he's so much more than a sellout.

  • he's a sellout because of the rest of his body of work. if you read my initial statements, they clearly mention my recognition of the rest of his stuff.... and the whole reason i started this bout against him is because he wrote that ultra poppy mainstream apart from it. if he hadn't, and that wasn't his "hit", he wouldn't be on leno. he'd be struggling just like every other REAL ARTIST.

AM I THE ONLY PERSON IN THIS COMMENT STRING THAT KNOWS WHAT A SELL-OUT REALLY MEANS?

  • do you need someone to agree with you to hold up your ego or something? take a chill pill mate. Actually, just sit back, push play, and enjoy your dreaded key of D. Life could be worse, he could be doing duets with Colbie Caillet.

  • k i'm gonna bottom-line-it for everyone so that you all fucking get it.

pop formulas are like a drug that's fed to the masses. the more of the drug they get, the more of it they want.

those of us who write fresh music are battling that drug... and every asshole that feeds it, to cash in on it, is fucking with our progress.

every one of you that's proven that you're too short-sighted to see the epidemic is part of the problem... so i think you all need to shut yur fuckin mouths. morons.

  • Dude, there are a billion tunes out there, why waste your time complaining about stuff you don't like? Personally, I think Newton has done a lot to help improve the 'pop' market. He's one of the very few 'mainstream' artists who can really play and he's introduced a whole new generation to the idea that acoustic is cool - you don't have to shred metal to be a guitar god! He's not a precious muso, but a guy that just loves music and it shows!

  • now that is a good comment!

  • erm, I get what you mean but are you trying to put some kinda meaning into your life? By saying that you are a "Real Artist" and that Newton Faulkner isn't.... maybe you should check your facts, just because he needs some money doesn't make him bad, if this song was "ultra poppy" it would have like everything synthetic. He wrote the lyircs, he plays the song... admittedly it's one of my least favourite songs of his. You don't have to "be struggling" to be a real artists, you just have to be good

  • "pop" is a short form of the term "popular". it doesn't mean synthetic sounds. it means popular sound... and a popular sound is D, A, Bm, G... which can also be transposed into G, D, Em, C. that might make more sense to people. if you start that progression on Em, it loops as Em, C, D, G. it's a formula. thee pop formula.... and it's digesting the radio.

everyone that keeps arguing with me is a daaaammmnnnn fool. fuckner is just another puppet master... you fucking tools.

  • I don't care about any pop formula or whatever its doing to the radio. Quite frankly I couldn't care less. I just thought I'd tell you because someone really needs too.

You are actually insane. Chill the hell out. Get a life. I'd probably be right in thinking that the reason you are a failing musician is not because of your music but because you are indeed a wanker.

You will never get a record contract like this guy because no one likes because of your arrogance. Get the fuck over yourself.

  • i honestly think newton faulkner deserves his fame. he's amazing... BUT NOT FOR THIS SONG!!!! DOESN'T ANYONE UNDERSTAND ME?!!!

and btw.. i'm successful, actually. who ever said anything abuot me being a "failing musician"? i'm not saying i'm famous. fame would be awesome... but for the right reasons. you might have heard of the band i play guitar in, but i'd never ever give away my real identity.

some guy named johnnyfingers254 could tell you off and it could be dane cook

  • OK - can we clarify things? Anyone involved in the music business knows how this works - it may not be right, but that's the way it is. You write and record a whole bunch of songs for an album and the singles are selected by the label and radio pluggers because they will get radio play. If you want the mass market, then it's mainly R1 & R2 who will obviously go for the more 'pop' mass market stuff. You can be precious if you like, but you simply won't get heard! That song did the job for Newton.

  • you should check out last gang records based out of toronto. they're totally independent but they have bands like metric and death from above 1979(formerly). nobody chooses their singles but the band members... and they're doing just fine.

sub pop is another great example of power in the hands of the bands, and they're american; modest mouse, fleet foxes, the shins, the postal service, band of horses.. to name a few... hell even soundgarden!

not every label is run by dingbats

  • Jealousy is a stinky cologne.

  • jealousy is for the weak. don't call me jealous. you obviously have no fucking clue what i'm talkign about..... just like the rest, that can't comprehend the depth of the issue i'm addressing. there's a thousand amazing artists out there i love... and i love some of newton's music.. but for the last fucking time, this song is a sellout piece of pop garbage money/vagina grabbing shit... so for fuck sakes i wish people would stop dragging me back to this shitty fucking video!!!

  • Stinky, stinky.

  • wow think much of yourself there bud. Pull yourself away from a mirror for just a second. Nobody has to like what you like. the world stopped revolving around you, or didn't your mommy tell ya

  • i've never said anything close to suggesting it's about liking what i like. you just made that assumption after hitting a mental roadblock during the brief moment you feebly attempted to process my comments, and you need to justify yur enjoyment of it this song.

my entire point, thus far, has been that he has a vast body of interesting music.. but when he got his chance on leno, he played a song that 's gonna sell CDs that end up sandwiched on a shelf between the jonas brothers and a nickleback

  • yer funny! mainly for thinking your more intelligent than everyone else. Go clean the pipes, relieve some stress. Then get a job, and a pet so that you have something other to think about than your pretentious self. I think ill go back to my lovely family and stare at the doctorate hanging on my wall. I have lots of people like you laying on a couch in front of me everyday crying about themselves. ill give you my card.

  • oh pfff whatever you lying piece of shit!!! yur no doctor, you fuckin loser. Besides, what the hell does a person's job dictate anything about who they are? Look at George W Bush? He held the highest office on earth and he's a fucking retard.

furthermore, i haven't suggested i'm more intelligent than anyone else; only more intelligent than people that respond to my comments without addressing their actual content.

btw if you were a psychologist, you'd know that you're projecting

  • im telling you, go "relieve the stress" , and then go play outside with your friends it will help.

  • there's more to life than hiding in yur sister's closet and knockin one out while she changes her granny pannies

  • i do love me some granny panties (not "pannies" so much though)

  • fail. granny doesn't rhyme with pantie as well as pannie does. i was aiming for flow, in spite of common vocabulary standard, even if it meant breaking tradition. originality is a delightful side effect.

it's funny that even when we change the subject, the underlying values stay the same... cuz everything we're saying relates to this newtool fakenerd business

  • I agree, he has better songs.

But this version beats his album version, big time!

  • Oh! I do hate people who type in CAPS, like they're shouting. You are wrong in so many ways, therealsolstice - As Dannyputah pointed out, you're obviously a tit, so just pipe down.

  • Sorry, but even after the explanation, you're still a tit, plus a touch arrogant. Only failed wannabees talk about selling out - that's because they have nothing to sell. If you want to maintain your musicall integrity, stay at home and play in your bedroom. To be a professional, you do the job to suit the occasion. I'm sure there are plenty of real 'musicians' out there who respect Newton's talent AND his commercial success. because they actually understand what it takes to make it these days.

  • i totally understand your point, but it's soooo far beneath the values i'm trying to express.. and you obviously don't fucking get it. the comment was phrased towards the audience, but aimed at newton... cuz this profile is his (I think). he knows what he did.... and if it's not enough for him to have to live with, his fellow artists are here to drive the nails in.

the point is, he had an opportunity that many deserve, but he squandered it on a SAFE typical 4-chord shit show

  • jesus dude chill out he was probably forced to play that song by his record company

  • that's the only intelligent reply anyone's presented thus far... but the bottom line still remains; he wrote a song using thee most over-used mainstream chord progression/rythm in the last 20 years. i'm not saying that it doesn't sound good... but an entire song based on that structure, in 2009, by a dood with dreds who plays way cooler stuff, is unforgivable. i've said it before and i'll say it again. he knows what he did.

if he's got an answer, he can reply to me.

  • yur getting a bit closer. keeping coming.

  • We get what your trying to say, your one of those people who thinks your knowledge of music that isn't listened to by a mass spectrum makes you some kind of musical intellect. Your one of those arrogant fools who thinks just because you don't listen to pop music makes you better. People like that are usually very hard to be around, keep making your music and not "selling-out" and don't worry about people who are more talented then yourself.

  • FOR THE LOVE OF GOD. IT'S YOU'RE. YOU'RE MAN, YOU'RE. YOU'RE. YOU ARE. FUCKING HELL.

Stop trying to sound "intellectual" self by offering a psycho analysis on the internet, or being so prejudice and hardcore by categorising. Man, let people appreciate the music.

And learn some fucking grammar, sheesh.

  • You don't have to read comments, and for the love of god look at the message I was actually replying to, if your gonna go off on one. I was replying to someone who was talking about this guy being a "sell-out" and talking about Newton Faulkner was using a "pop formula" to get noticed by a mass audience, because goes on about how he was listening to Newton before he was a "sellout." Alsowhen you pick out spelling mistakes its usually means your commenting for the hell of an argument.

  • LOOL was that last bit to piss him off?

"Your commenting for the hell of an arguement" LO FUCKING L

  • Dude, I think it was an accident. Check the next one. :(

  • I was clearly replying to someone who was not enjoying the music, so what your saying is pretty flawed.

  • Newton, you make me think of John Butler, you are both amazing guitarists.

    Go on Newton!

  • newton is just fantastic....ive been youtubing him for three days non stop now....n i cant seem to have enough of his music and voice....

n i kinda agree with jerova....i prefer him with his guitar only rather than with a band....

  • His latest tour, which has just finished is solo - just him, a few guitars and some pedals (but no looping!) absolutley awesone!

  • yah lol ive been youtubing him too, i acually just downloaded his album *itunes, i did pay for it lol* and i like him better with out the band

  • jerova got it spot on newton doesn't need a band

  • This song is great....but to me, it loses something when you add the other instruments...I much prefer it just Faulkner and his guitar.

  • Just come home from seeing Newton at Buxton opera house. Absolutely fantastic!!! You have to see him live, it takes your breath away. ;-) x

  • GOD! Jay Leno is realy orange!!

  • do they like him in america cos tbh he aint al that big here in england AND HE SHOULD BE !!!!!
