Thanks! the story: I bought a dell inspiron mini 910 off of craigslist w/ a bad 8gig hd for$10 that physically looked brand new. Then ordered a new super talent 16 gig hard drive from superbiiz. Had a mac in the house that I had upgraded to snow leopard so I owned the disk. I used a normal 16 gig thumb drive and the whole process took approx two hours. I now have a dell mini macbook / netbook for less then $60. (Ubuntu works good on the dell mini also which I did tried 1st)
@ApplePhenom...O, so right when you get that install succeeded image, i can unplug the External drive, then hit the reboot button? I cannot wait to get my dell mini 10v that I just ordered earlier today.
The one thing that I think you forgot to mention. After you install the Mac OS and it has to reboot the machine, dont you have to press f2 and change the BIOS to boot from HD?
@ApplePhenom The object used to edit the system configuration is the CMOS, or the Complementary metal–oxide–semiconductor. BIOS is Basic Input Output System, which is how hardware talks to the computer. To edit BIOS, you use the program CMOS. You're not going to boot into your BIOS, you boot into your CMOS, to edit the BIOS. Common mix up, mainly because of manufacturers calling it the BIOS for easier understanding.

@hammeredaxe12 on a windows computer that has a dvd/cd drive equipped in it you are going to want to download a program called win2flash and you need to have your dell windows xp disk at hand or a copy of windows and just follow the instructions of win2flash and when it has installed windows on the flash drive boot your dell mini from that usb drive and install windows from that, or you could go the moderately expensive route and buy a usb dvd drive and install it from there. Hope that helps!!!
@ApplePhenom even the camera and things like photo booth or iChat? what if I wanted to unhackintosh it? and also, when you turn it off, and then back on, does it boot straight into the Mac OS?
@cameraking360 Yes, if you want to put it back to windows you just need to install windows on it from a usb or usb dvd drive, when booting the hackintosh it might show a little message and then will boot to the apple os apple logo then to slow leo.
@firearm75 i actually just sold the laptop but i can tell you that the laptop was great for me when i had , might i say that i did switch back to windows 7 after i installed snow leopard because i made the laptop run very hot, the laptop is good for what it is made for, web browsing, email, and youtube. Good luck with the install, if you have anymore questions please feel free to ask.
@TehInfamousPker Make sure you have the latest version of the netbook boot maker and that you have "USB Legacy Support" Enabled and "USB Wake Support" enabled!
Nice vid! I'm installing OSX this weekend on my newly ordered Dell Mini! I'm stoked! I'm using 0.8.4RC1 though, which was released a while ago. Includes a lot more fixes and allows immediate update to 10.6.3

@OfficialDuckFilms Well then....if ur so fucking smart why don't you make a video on how that is done there Einstein.
ApplePhenom 1 year ago
WTF is the point in putting os x on the mini if you have to buy a mac anyway? You don't even have to have a mac to do this.
OfficialDuckFilms 1 year ago
You guys know that you can do this without a Mac I have done it. A bit harder than this way but works just as good

@nygiantfan101 no the boot priority should skip to the hd when it sees that there isn't a usb device plugged in.

cameraking360 1 year ago
@cameraking360 yea everything works but if your 10v has bluetooth with it you need to enable bluetooth in the bios to get it working.
