I like the both versions, The Smiths (Original), cause i'm biggest fan of Smiths and Moz, but i'm a fan of Quicksand too, Post-Hardcore version, fuckin' awesome!
their take on the song is better, regardless of how awful this recording is. listen to a proper recording of it and not this shite filmed from someones phone.. they do a good job
OK, it's your oppinion, just the same way I told mine. IMO, when they suppressed the nature of the former vibrato+delay pulsing guitar riff, they killed 90% of this music's magics, the rest of it was when they transformed the remains in just another FM rock, scream-along distortion guitar piece... By other words, this is how to turn gold into rust... IMO, please remember... Cheers!

@Shadowplaytime I'm the last person to goad people for their opinions and i do like The Smiths but calling Rival Scools "just another FM rock scream along distortion guitar piece" is a total injustice. You really need to check out their album United By Fate, it's a really awesome modern rock album with a lot of light and shade and is totally ungeneric.
