man that is one wild ride! It's not the motorcycle that cause the crash, it's the lack of experience riding it. My first scooter was the 750 Seca. Second was the FJ1200 and I never lost either of them. Damned near a couple of times, mostly at highway speeds. When you get up over 120mph you tend to be a little more careful. This thing here would be a real thrill, and a bit of playing before I rode like this guy.
jumper you said about keepin the front wheel on the ground its easy dont open the throttle so much lol its always gonna do that with the power its got trust me i know had bikes since i was a kid love,em
@jumper1294 with probably more than 200 rwhp on a stock wheelbase r1, no, there isnt anyway to keep the front wheel down in the first couple of gears at wide open throttle.
@SKITTLESQUADFTW No it's not, because it has so much power that it's very hard to control. It depends on your age and weight, if you want a good first bike buy a yamaha yzf125 it still goes pretty well. Not great but I think 150+ is hard to handle for a first bike. My uncle got an R1 and previously he only had a 250cc bike and as soon as he bought the R1, he had a crash, so I would think twice mate..
I don't know how you expect to control a bike with a turbo when it was not desgned to have one. When he boot it, it's going to lift up. I think even if he sat on the tank, there will be no way of keeping that animal down.
Much love for the VTR's but it's gonna get chopped every day of the week by a turbo R1. I just bought my first bike. Got a VTR-1000 and I love it... so far, so good
@TheCashman007 Me too! AND I'm American. AND, I can say that you're wrong, many, if not most, of my countrymen respect motorcycles. At least the real riders out there do. I personally love and respect my vtr 1000 especially!

Oh don't be a dickhead you retarded, braindead Youtube moron. It doesn't matter where they are shipped or built, the parts they are built with are MANUFACTURED in Japan. And you think Forncross is the only pace in the world they put Yamahas and Hondas together?

my spellin is a attrocias haha were are u from u mulllet! jog on. y u got to be a dik ed ay goin on about me spellin cos u got y eye wiped! not even gunna sey nottin 2 ya ba ure only a divy
And the only bikes that can compete are Italian (Ducati) or German (and only recently with the BMWS1000RR). British bikes suck (except for the Triumphs which are about 3/4 there) and so do American ones.
It seems like you're rather misinformed. Supercharge it so you have that power all the time?
Go look at a dyno sheet of a turbo bike. The turbochargers on these bikes are typically so small, that even at idle, there is enough exhaust gas velocity to build small amounts of boost.
Superchargers just hold high revving engines down. It's more mass directly tied in with the engine, which means more power pulled from the crank.
As for not having the power all the time.. How the hell do you figure 256.79 MPH in the Maxton Mile isn't having all the power all the time?
You need to check out Charlie Anstaett's 636 RWHP turbo Hayabusa. He doesn't have all the power all the time, does he? You must know more than him, even though he has done the fastest Maxton Mile ever, with a turbo 'Busa.
No, you're just a guy that does not like performance. Turbochargers are far more efficient, and honestly, who races at low RPM's?
You must've never riden any bike, let alone a supercharged or turbocharged bike. Hardly any bike on the market has a smooth powerband. Even on 600's, when you nail the throttle, lighter guys have to fight to keep the front end down.
I would say it's a good choice for a first BIG bike ... if you've never ridden before you might want to start on something smaller for 12 months or so, say a CBR250cc or maybe an R6 if you really feel limited by the 250cc. But the VTR is a very nice, forgiving bike. You can be in 6th gear, and accelerate your way up a steep hill if you need to, it just has awesome low-end power.
that bikes pretty quick but and has a lot of power, but i think that after a while, having to constantly keep the front end down would get a little annoying.

Not sure what turbo boost pressure you max it at.
When we did Turbo bikes for strictly drag racing, elec air shifting, etc, 40 plus pounds, $15 a gallon fuel, 10" slick, stretched typical w/wheelie bar, it was brutal.
But this R1, and un-turbo copy I have is fast. Yours is nuts to the max.

Whats my car got to do with anything, i don't understand. This guy is trying to pull a wheelie but can't hold the bike through a succesion of gears. When a bikes power lifts the front wheel it is much more suttle and less pronounced. Just in case you did not realise, bikes don't bounce down the road on their front wheel. This guy is obviously still learning to hold a wheelie. And the answer to your other question is Yes, you can keep the front down under hard acceleration. It comes with practice
just jokin mate! no offense! I know it has nothing to do. Was half asleep when i wrote that comment. lol. power between the superhawk (firestorm in UK) and RC-51 (VTR SP1 in UK) is quite similar. There are a couple of videos here on YT showing both bikes on a Dyno and coming out with similar power curves.
That Sure Is Powerful.

What would be faster??? A VTR1000 or a CBR600F ?
weedwhackerman 2 years ago
Easily the VTR, in fact a VTR can go toe to toe with a stock R1 (just not a turbo)

What about the Superhawk (Or Firestorm in the UK) because i know its not as powerful as the SP-1 and SP-2. VTR's???
weedwhackerman 2 years ago
power between the superhawk (firestorm in UK) and RC-51 (VTR SP1 in UK) is quite similar. There are a couple of videos here on YT showing both bikes on a Dyno and coming out with similar power curves.

Honda has Shaqal exhaust or standard ?

That constant wheel lifting and coming down cant be good for the front forks. But how much fun would it be. Still prefer the sound of the VTR though.

why is there always (some times :) ) fast cars going in front of the bikes ? is it safer ?
hasansal11 2 years ago
I'd say so, bikes can stop much quicker then cars.
chubbychubbs 2 years ago
cars can stop faster and hit corners at higher speeds, but on any straight roads we can loose the car easy
