And her, "Have you done any research on how they handle their company?" was almost implying that she thought he was just a blind follower. >:( Seriously rude! wth? why the PETA question, the ASPCA is NOT a no kill shelter, because they just don't have the funds to house all those animals, but I DO support it...it's not jared's fault that this orginzatioin has resorted to euthnanizing these animals...you could see how upset it made him, he is an animal activist, and it's not like he was like "Screw You Animals" he takes a stand, and that's a hard thing to do, so rock on Padalecki.

Jared was supposed to do his own Q&A after then J2 panel but he acted like he wasn't supposed to because he didn't want to be on his own after he was asked that question.
@LydiaMadelaine Actually they were running late and the Jared and Jensen Panel was only supposed to be 20 minutes, but when the fans encouraged Jensen to stay for the second set (instead of going away and coming back in 20 minutes), they just both stayed for 20 minutes. Normally the guys do 30 minutes each.

This wasn't an appropriate venue for the topic, but Jared should have learned more about PETA before supporting them. Despite millions of $ in donations, PETA reported killing 95% of the pets in their care last year. Who knows how many pets they killed and dumped illegally (google: PETA trial). They don't do it because of overpopulation; PETA is against any domestication of animals, including Jared's dogs and my cat :( But most people don't know about PETA. J&J are great guys (and still human).
That was a really classy answer to a completely inappropriate question, kudos to Jared for stating his beliefs calmly and Jensen for lightening the mood. And well done to the crowd for shutting that girl down as well.
Oh my god. That was awful what that girl was saying. How could she bring something like that up and completely upset Jared who was there for the fans?! It was clearly an emotional subject for him and for her to say something like that to upset him and try and destroy his support of this charity and the help for animals is heartless. Jared doesn`t look quite as happy and energetic as he usually does, even before the PETA question... if anything, Jensen is talking and in the spotlight more in this one rather than the others where he just sits back and lets Jared rule the stage
What a stupid girl. Thats not something you bring up in a panel in the hopes of goading an actor into a debate that you KNOW could have the potential to make them look bad in front of fans. Was she trying to be clever with her 'question'? Because she came off as a smug little shit. that PETA statement/question was just, woah. It completely ruined the mood of everyone. Jared's answer was very good and it ended the matter. I love how the audience were on his side and how Jensen seemed worried, then almost proud of Jared when he spoke up. And it made me smile how Jensen changed the subject like he was being a protective best friend/brother :)
The question the girl asked about PETA should not have been placed here...this is a SUPERNATURAL convention for FANS to interact with the stars from the show, NOT for her to push her political opinions......save it for a press conference with the people who run PETA...not with Jared who is just trying to use his influence to do something good

It wasn't really a question. Right around 4:10 she makes a statement to Jared...
"I know in the past you have said you support PETA. I was actually wondering if you have done any research on how they actually manage their accounting? They actually euthanize 97% of their animals they had last year."
She didn't ask a question, she used our time with the boys to make a statement. How she can expect one organization to feed and care for that many animals is beyond me.
So, how are they going to keep the thousands of animals they get every year. It is absolutely positively impossible to keep all of the animals alive. They try to find homes for all of the animals, but it is impossible. I blame the people that don't spay and neuter their pets. They really try to encourage people to adopt animals, etc. They don't find animals just to kill them. They are trying to prevent them from running wild and making even more puppies and kittens no one will want.
All no kill shelters tried to find homes for animals and they also get the word out to everybody to spay and neuter. PETA they make a lot of noise but they really don't do much.
Thank you for saying that, rsrvedMom. I'm a vet student and I believe that you're COMPLETELY right. And it really bugs me a lot that the emphasis is on not euthanising animals rather than stopping the animals from getting to that point in the first place.
@rsrvedMom This is what I dont get: How did we get to a point where animals that some people have as pets (dogs and cats mostly) are called "stray" if they don't have a human home and that's bad. Their options are with humans in their home, in a shelter or dead. Why can't they be wild like every other wild animal out there, like they must have been before they were domesticated.
@greatsayain How are cats and dogs supposed to survive in the cities? It's a nice idea that all stray cats and dogs could live happily in the wild, but that isn't the case. Stray cats and dogs in the city starve, they get sick, they get hit by cars. Haven't you ever had a sickly skinny kitty come to your back door? It's not like bears or foxes where they're deep in the woods. The sad thing about "no-kill" shelters is that they help a lot less animals than the regular shelters do.
The J's sometimes don't deserve the fans they get at these cons. Supernatural will be coming to a close soon and these same stupid fans might not see the J's again...because the boys don't have to be there.
I think Jared handle the PETA question very good.He reacted like anyone would of,I mean what a bicht it's was a SPN convention that was not the time to ask a question like that and anyway it was rude,poor Jared.But the best is Jensen reaction he just tried to calm down everybody by making a joke and it's so cute when he congrads Jared about how he handled the question,I love them both.

Besides all that PETA discussion here, which I was very pissed about when I tried to feel for Jared, I really have to THANK YOU for uploading all those great videos. I don´t think I will ever make it to one of the Cons, as I live just too far away -Germany- but watching your videos makes one feel having been part of one though- so THANKS once again for it!!!

I feel awful for Jared -- it was like, his face was so happy and then you could just see it change when that question came up -- true, he can handle himself fine, but it's a real shame that he has to be made to feel uncomfortable at an event like this, when he and Jensen are always so gracious to everyone.

This is completely off subject, but I just realized something. You guys ever notice, that when you look at these two, you don't see Sam and Dean? My opinion anyway, but I was just trying to see if I could SEE Sam and Dean in them, and I don't..not at all, I see Jared and Jensen. And with Sam and Dean, you don't see the J2 boys at all..I wonder if that's a sign of REALLY good actors. ;D
Yep, I always see Jared & Jensen when I watch these guys... Some times they do pop into character, and it is very noticeable. Jared is so light hearted and Sam is not.. Jensen smiles much bigger than Dean ever does.. Dean smirks, Jensen like collapses when he laughs... If you notice after the Eye of the Tiger, Jensen pops off the car and starts laughing and he is so Jensen there... If you know what I mean :-)
Never really thought about that before, but you´re right. You really can tell when they´re Winchesters or just Jared and Jensen. I think that´s one thing why the cons are so great, because they are just themselves and not their SN-characters. :-)

i think jared is great supporter for animal right due to the fact im not american and i dont know what is peta all about i do know he raise 3dogs and one of them is three leged so i heard i mean attacking him was not appropriate and people keep bieng crul to him although he is the sweetest guy on earth im not saying because im fan but because they way he handle all the fans if i were him i wouldnt come to these cons
I don't know anything about a 3 legged dog, but Jared's current two dogs are both rescue dogs. He really loves animals and he should get some credit for that... Of course, Jensen really loves kids... Both are soooo sweet!!!
Jared's time didn't have anything to do with the question. They had to cut 30 minutes from their sessions and instead of rushing through the Jared & Jensen panel to get to Jared only, they just extended the Jared & Jensen. My problem was they didn't warn us that their wouldn't be a solo time when Jared first came out because I didn't get a lot of solo photos of him. I spent those 30 minutes trying to get shots with both boys together. Since they sat far apart, that was hard.
Yeah it wasn't the right forum for the PETA question, but Jared is a grown man and he is in a postion where people are going to ask him questions like that and he handled himself admirably. Unfortunately some of the questionerS don't have the common sense to know what's appropriate and what isn't...way of the world...
To be honest, I didn't really get that girl's question but nevermind. Judging from the comments here and Jared's reaction, it seems that was rude to him and that's enough to piss me off. I can't believe how some people can just ruin their chance to talk to them with some mean accusations. I wish I could remind her that some other fans would kill (well not litterally, see what I mean) to even start dreaming they could get the chance to see them in person one day.
Fans who live on the other side of the world for example, in those countries where those kind of conventions never ever happens (yay for France...). Both come here friendly and here's what they get. It REALLY upsets me. Thank God they have some other amazing fans that can ask some great questions.

I think they both of them handled themselves admirable and Yes, I wish I had two cameras to get them with closeups at the same time... OK, I want 6 cameras. One still camera on closeups on both of the boys (total of 2), One video on closeups on both (2 more) 1 still camera and 1 video camera getting both of the boys in the shot... just in case... Oh, and 1 more wide lens video in case they do any cute jumping up that would pop them out of frame. If they would let me, I would do it too.
You know...I think Creation should think about putting out DVD's of these panels, and I think they should employ YOU as their official cameraperson. After all, you always have the best footage :-)
the last question was if Jensen thinks are similar characteristics in the charaters of Dean (Spn) and Alec from (Dark angel) and Jensen understood Ben and Alec, right?
I totally agree that this was neither the time nor the place to try to "educate" Jared re: PETA's practices. However, one redeeming feature of the exchange--Jensen's riff on pita. Hilarious. Trying to contain the sitch, break the tension, give Jared a chance to decide whether to answer the question & collect his thoughts. They look out for each other that way.

He did answer her question. The question was asked at about 4:10. He said... we'll go to the next question at first, because it was more of a statement than a question. It had nothing to do with Jared or Supernatural, it was about the girl's feelings about euthanizing animals. But, then he answered her question before they went to the next one. So, that was 2 minutes of my 30ish minutes with the boys. I object to her putting her 'message' out during my time... She should just write a letter.

Out of curiosity, what other questions have been asked in the past that the boys and other fans didn't like? The only one I can recall people being a little miffed over was the question about Sam enjoying sex with dead bodies (RE: Him sleeping with Ruby).
um, off the top of my head I can remember ppl implying the boys like each other, ppl assuming jared knew what ipicap (sp?) was (where he makes the demon come out of pplz mouths) and just saying the word in their question, and at the LA con their was some drama with a girl making racist comments to other actors besides jensen and jared. I think others were also upset about ppl asking for hugs during question time. stuff like that. if anyone remembers any other plz add :)
I agree with what people are saying, it was certainly the wrong time and place for her to pose that question of him. It's a fan convention, it's supposed to be fun and light hearted, not a battle royale between peoples personal beliefs. In the end though, Jared's a big boy, he can clearly handle himself so I am sure he's not rattled at all by it and will continue to be his awesome self at future conventions.

So, what was the situation that she took advantage of? Were people not there to ask questions? I don't like that she asked this question, but I don't understand what people are talking about when they say that "people were asked not to take advantage?"
Also, did Jared not do a separate panel by himself because of the girl asking him this question?
This is a fan convention. We only get 30 minutes with these guys. She just wanted to spout off about something that doesn't have anything to do with Jared. He supports animal rescue which is supported by PETA... There is no benefit to anybody that paid hundreds of dollars just to be in that room. Most people ask questions that get the guys to talk about themselves. This convention is not political and it is not about her. We only had an hour total because they were running late.
There have been some comments in the past which the boys and other fans haven't been too happy about.
During Jensen's panel, a guy was reading questions from the fans to Jensen, however when Jared came out he asked if the mic could be passed around, and commented to the audience not to take advantage of it.
There's no rules that say you can't ask questions like the one she asked, but it's basic manners to be respectful and not make them feel uncomfortable.
And it is considerate to all of the other people that are trying to enjoy themselves. She feels good because she gets to smack down a PETA supporter, but the rest of us lose time that could have been spent talking to Jared & Jensen about them.

@LydiaMadelaine Actually they were running late and the Jared and Jensen Panel was only supposed to be 20 minutes, but when the fans encouraged Jensen to stay for the second set (instead of going away and coming back in 20 minutes), they just both stayed for 20 minutes. Normally the guys do 30 minutes each.

This wasn't an appropriate venue for the topic, but Jared should have learned more about PETA before supporting them. Despite millions of $ in donations, PETA reported killing 95% of the pets in their care last year. Who knows how many pets they killed and dumped illegally (google: PETA trial). They don't do it because of overpopulation; PETA is against any domestication of animals, including Jared's dogs and my cat :( But most people don't know about PETA. J&J are great guys (and still human).

that PETA statement/question was just, woah. It completely ruined the mood of everyone. Jared's answer was very good and it ended the matter. I love how the audience were on his side and how Jensen seemed worried, then almost proud of Jared when he spoke up. And it made me smile how Jensen changed the subject like he was being a protective best friend/brother :)

She didn't ask a question, she used our time with the boys to make a statement. How she can expect one organization to feed and care for that many animals is beyond me.

So, how are they going to keep the thousands of animals they get every year. It is absolutely positively impossible to keep all of the animals alive. They try to find homes for all of the animals, but it is impossible. I blame the people that don't spay and neuter their pets. They really try to encourage people to adopt animals, etc. They don't find animals just to kill them. They are trying to prevent them from running wild and making even more puppies and kittens no one will want.

@rsrvedMom This is what I dont get: How did we get to a point where animals that some people have as pets (dogs and cats mostly) are called "stray" if they don't have a human home and that's bad. Their options are with humans in their home, in a shelter or dead. Why can't they be wild like every other wild animal out there, like they must have been before they were domesticated.

@greatsayain How are cats and dogs supposed to survive in the cities? It's a nice idea that all stray cats and dogs could live happily in the wild, but that isn't the case. Stray cats and dogs in the city starve, they get sick, they get hit by cars. Haven't you ever had a sickly skinny kitty come to your back door? It's not like bears or foxes where they're deep in the woods. The sad thing about "no-kill" shelters is that they help a lot less animals than the regular shelters do.

This is completely off subject, but I just realized something. You guys ever notice, that when you look at these two, you don't see Sam and Dean? My opinion anyway, but I was just trying to see if I could SEE Sam and Dean in them, and I don't..not at all, I see Jared and Jensen. And with Sam and Dean, you don't see the J2 boys at all..I wonder if that's a sign of REALLY good actors. ;D

Yep, I always see Jared & Jensen when I watch these guys... Some times they do pop into character, and it is very noticeable. Jared is so light hearted and Sam is not.. Jensen smiles much bigger than Dean ever does.. Dean smirks, Jensen like collapses when he laughs... If you notice after the Eye of the Tiger, Jensen pops off the car and starts laughing and he is so Jensen there... If you know what I mean :-)

I don't know anything about a 3 legged dog, but Jared's current two dogs are both rescue dogs. He really loves animals and he should get some credit for that... Of course, Jensen really loves kids... Both are soooo sweet!!!

Jared's time didn't have anything to do with the question. They had to cut 30 minutes from their sessions and instead of rushing through the Jared & Jensen panel to get to Jared only, they just extended the Jared & Jensen. My problem was they didn't warn us that their wouldn't be a solo time when Jared first came out because I didn't get a lot of solo photos of him. I spent those 30 minutes trying to get shots with both boys together. Since they sat far apart, that was hard.

To be honest, I didn't really get that girl's question but nevermind. Judging from the comments here and Jared's reaction, it seems that was rude to him and that's enough to piss me off. I can't believe how some people can just ruin their chance to talk to them with some mean accusations. I think they both of them handled themselves admirable and Yes, I wish I had two cameras to get them with closeups at the same time... OK, I want 6 cameras. One still camera on closeups on both of the boys (total of 2), One video on closeups on both (2 more) 1 still camera and 1 video camera getting both of the boys in the shot... just in case... Oh, and 1 more wide lens video in case they do any cute jumping up that would pop them out of frame. If they would let me, I would do it too.

I totally agree that this was neither the time nor the place to try to "educate" Jared re: PETA's practices. However, one redeeming feature of the exchange--Jensen's riff on pita. Hilarious. Trying to contain the sitch, break the tension, give Jared a chance to decide whether to answer the question & collect his thoughts. They look out for each other that way.

i mean what was the "rude" PETA question that made Jared not answer her.
and by "pass her up" I mean:
he didn't answer her question, and he moved on to the next question.
it was obviously something rude for Jared to have such a troubled look on his face and give that short statement he did about PETA afterward. the women were pissed too.
(It sounds like the girl asked about sedatives...couldn't understand her)

He did answer her question. The question was asked at about 4:10. He said... we'll go to the next question at first, because it was more of a statement than a question. It had nothing to do with Jared or Supernatural, it was about the girl's feelings about euthanizing animals. But, then he answered her question before they went to the next one. So, that was 2 minutes of my 30ish minutes with the boys. I object to her putting her 'message' out during my time... She should just write a letter.

than you for clearing that one up. all the women in the audience sounded super pissed abut her statement. they sounded as though she had said something offensive. Good for Jared for handling that well, and Jensen for the joke afterward about the humus to kill the tension a bit. the guys are my heroes

Gees, I was totally second-hand embarrassed when that girl brought up PETA. It's a Supernatural convention, for crying out loud.. not a PETA one. *rolls eyes*
But anyways, thanks for uploading these videos. From one who has never been to any of these convention, it's much appreciated to be able to see what goes on via the web. So, again, THANKS!

Out of curiosity, what other questions have been asked in the past that the boys and other fans didn't like? The only one I can recall people being a little miffed over was the question about Sam enjoying sex with dead bodies (RE: Him sleeping with Ruby).

um, off the top of my head I can remember ppl implying the boys like each other, ppl assuming jared knew what ipicap (sp?) was (where he makes the demon come out of pplz mouths) and just saying the word in their question, and at the LA con their was some drama with a girl making racist comments to other actors besides jensen and jared. I think others were also upset about ppl asking for hugs during question time. stuff like that. if anyone remembers any other plz add :)

I agree with what people are saying, it was certainly the wrong time and place for her to pose that question of him. It's a fan convention, it's supposed to be fun and light hearted, not a battle royale between peoples personal beliefs. In the end though, Jared's a big boy, he can clearly handle himself so I am sure he's not rattled at all by it and will continue to be his awesome self at future conventions.

jared gave a very good answer to the PETA question...i feel bad that he got put on the spot like that by that person.conventions are supposed to be fun for all and i now understand y they wanted pre screened questions...heres what people like that need to think about-what happens if fans end up pushing their limit with jensen or jared and they refuse to DO cons anymore?then WHAT?they put themselves out there to please us and people really need to be more respectful.thats all i have to say!

So, what was the situation that she took advantage of? Were people not there to ask questions? I don't like that she asked this question, but I don't understand what people are talking about when they say that "people were asked not to take advantage?"
Also, did Jared not do a separate panel by himself because of the girl asking him this question?

This is a fan convention. We only get 30 minutes with these guys. She just wanted to spout off about something that doesn't have anything to do with Jared. He supports animal rescue which is supported by PETA... There is no benefit to anybody that paid hundreds of dollars just to be in that room. Most people ask questions that get the guys to talk about themselves. This convention is not political and it is not about her. We only had an hour total because they were running late.

There have been some comments in the past which the boys and other fans haven't been too happy about.
During Jensen's panel, a guy was reading questions from the fans to Jensen, however when Jared came out he asked if the mic could be passed around, and commented to the audience not to take advantage of it.
There's no rules that say you can't ask questions like the one she asked, but it's basic manners to be respectful and not make them feel uncomfortable.

And it is considerate to all of the other people that are trying to enjoy themselves. She feels good because she gets to smack down a PETA supporter, but the rest of us lose time that could have been spent talking to Jared & Jensen about them.

I DO NOT MEAN TO OFFEND ANYONE! I AM JUST SIMPLY EXPLAINING MY WAY OF THINKING, I DO THINK SOME THINGS ARE CRUEL TO ANUMIALS, BUT WHAT SHOULDN'T BE SUPPORTED IS SOMEONE PAYING ALL THAT MONEY, THEN ACCUSING JARED AND EVEN JENSEN OF SUPPORTING CRUELTY TO ANIMALS. AGAIN NOT OFFENDING HERE!! I JUST LOVE THESE GUYS!! HOPE THEM ALL THE BEST!! :D I totally agree with Xabelle18!! she took advantage when it was jared in the first place that said lets make it back to how it used to be with the Q and A.

I don't get a turn?!" ;P Did anyone happen to hear what Jared said right before Jensen said "No good answer Jared, good answer." I heard "I don't wanna...." Not a very appropriate question to ask him, KNOWING he's a supporter and a HUGE dog person, she kinda upset him, I could see it.

I thought about cutting the b****'s question out, but we had so little time with the boys, I didn't want to cut a second. We all pay to come and see them... We don't come to hear political bull-malarky... Apparently, she said if she didn't ask him about it during the Q&A, when would she be able to... HOW ABOUT NEVER!!! Just because he puts himself out their for the fans, doesn't mean people should be able to take advantage. They even asked at the beginning that no one take advantage...

My god, Jared looked so upset, Jensen looked maaadd! good on Jared and them both for answering it so well and trying to lighten it up with a joke at the end, but I am still so mad. Yes people have different beliefs but she didnt have to ruin it for you and everyone else. Theres a time and a place.

jared has mentioned before that he supports peta, so the woman asked if he knew that last year peta euthanized 97% of their animals last year.
It seemed mean (and pretty rude) because it was like she was accusing him of supporting the euthanization of animals instead of helping them, which obviously he does not. She felt like she needed to educate him on what peta does. It was neither the time nor the place. He's giving up his time to come and see everyone and allowed ppl to ask questions...

instead of having the same guy who was asking jensen the questions in the first part be the only one allowed to talk to them. After he does that for his fans it's sad to see someone take advantage of the situation.

Ya! It was definately more entertaining when the fans asked the questions themselves :) I see why they might've had the guy reading the questions earlier though: to avoid situations like this peta one :S
