Hey guys I'm actually not Flea from the Chili Peppers, I just thought he was awesome enough to integrate into my username. I don't think he has a YouTube account but his Twitter handle is @flea333
Stunning example of an animal that should still have a wild to live in. I'm glad they felt safe enough to reproduce in a captive environment. It is thought that around 500 mammalian specimens are required to continue the gene pool without genetic abnormalities appearing. How long before that isn't the case?
Okay he`s the "Gorillas bitch"lool. That guy has some balls,.No "bitch" would sit among Gorillas..Anyway,people who say those things have half a brain cell.
So you are now a gorilla supporter? The last time I checked, you were trying to argue that a lion would kill a gorilla because it's shorter paws makes it better at grappling. LMFAO!!
@YourHeartIsTheKey Lol, you are retarded. Your arguments, such as that a lion would beat a gorilla in a grappling match due to it's shorter arms, are so stupid they don't really merit any reply. All you are good for is a laugh, dude...and quote articles from books written by other people.
Everytime I see something like this, I cant help but think of Kat Williams when he said "If it werent for white people we wouldnt know SHEITTTT about a wild animal." - Kat Williams.
Gorillas are awesome, almost the equivalent of a tribe of powerful humans if you think about it. I'd love to befriend a gorilla or orangutan, but definitely not very trusting of chimps as they tend to be much more volatile.
For all that don't know, Gorillas are vegetarians, are usually passive and pretty lazy most the day.
@Lightfoot1990 Yes agreed, no one would stand a chance. But how about you guess how many fatal attacks gorillas have commited?.............0. Yes, 0. No man has ever been killed by a gorilla in all recorded history.
You'd be safer with them then most of humanity (depending on your race, religion, and nationality these statistics get even worse)
I've seen Kifu up close at Howletts and I can testify to his size. He's gigantic! He was also enjoying a can of Fosters when we were there. Brilliant :)
To all those saying this gentleman is the Gorilla`s b*tch... give your heads a shake!? Have you ever seen Kevin Richardson with his lions?? If you arent submissive to this massive creatures, you wont be studying them long...when u dead!
@flyinthebug35 i dont think you get it? you cant be submissive to a lion because they are dumb . but this gentleman can be submissive with the gorilla because the gorilla is a more intelligent creature
@batmanFAN07 No mutation changes the chromosome make up of an individual animal so much that it can no longer reproduce with animals of it's kind. thus a gorilla is always born a gorilla. the similarities are evident but no one said that God started from scratch each time he made a new animal. Think of it well all have the same facial features 2 eyes, 1 nose, 1 mouth be it ape, lion, dog, human. God probably followed a blueprint of sort resulting in similarities that we mistake as evolution
If I could do what this man does, once before I die, then I will die happy. Being able to get so up close to such an amazing animal is just incredible. I'm jealous of him.
Intelligence isnt always great. Sure it put us in top of the food chain. But higher intelligence also means more complicated mentality. Humans are capable of great things because of our intelligence... but we are also capable of great destruction because of it. And unfortunatly the way I see it, a lot more of the latter happends then good things coming out from it (on a global perspective)
@7mikethebike The guy would very quickly find himself without arms lol a silverback is easily 12 times as strong as a strong human male. Even a 150 lb chimp is 5-7 times stronger. :P But it's be nice to see some of these 'tough guys' pitted against a real tough guy in the form of a 400 lb gorilla.
Khifu is totally beautiful and proves what all gorilla lovers know.....they may be huge but they are gentle and loving and not a bit bothered as long as you are nice to them!!! So stop saying all this crap about gorillas and get it in your head that they are wonderful animals and deserve to be given their home in the rainforest back that we are stealing from them!!! Save the gorillas!
@bg11215 they only have sharp teeth for display when they are frightened. They are total vegetarians and so gentle...there is no need to be scared of them
...especially when he keeps trying to leave but the gorilla won't let him. I guess when you're in a cage with a gorilla that doesn't want you to leave, the gorilla pretty much gets what it wants.
@bg11215 There is no need to be scared of them, they are sooo gentle and will only hurt you if they think you are going to hurt them (just like a human would) and as you can see Khifu is a massive silverback and yet he loves to play! a big softie really lol
@glassbowls "it would be morally unethical not to give certain primates and dolfins the same rights humans enjoy.." That's so absurd as to not merit a reply.
I read a book on philosophy a while ago. The writer argued that it would be morally unethical not to give certain primates and dolfins the same rights humans enjoy..
Sadly, not even all humans enjoy these rights atm :(
@EvilDead159 On the contrary...they only need help because we pushed them to the brink of extinction to begin with:P If we just left things the f##k alone, animals would need zero help from us. In fact they'd be better off without us. We come along and within a few thousand years of our entering any area of the globe, we've wiped out a large portion of the indigenous life there. It's no coincidence that the Mammoth, the Saber toothed cats, giant sloths, cave bears, whooly rhinoceros vanished!
ahh shut up bout his cage if i were to be put into a safe place given a woman and had children id be happy so stfu and whatch some kittens or somthing
This guy is quite brave i must say , Gorillas can be very aggressive even in a zoo .. you can be their friend and two seconds later their enemy... better be careful.
@zzzzJAGJEETzzzz Oh no they aren`t put a violin in the hands of the gorilla and see if he can play aria in g string by JSB! evolution shmevolution.. God created man in the finite version we see today.
@salvolondon Oh, no doubt. Chimpanzees are actually very aggressive. Most people don't actually know what a chimpanzee is, though. Gorillas, on the other hand, aren't aggressive at all. Certainly they're big and powerful, but I don't recall them ever killing anyone.
@atakan0652 It isn't surprising, and isn't that sentence a little contradictive? Well, the truth is, Gorillas aren't very violent creatures. They COULD kill very easily with such strength, but whether they WOULD is a totally different story. Honestly they're more curious, social, playful and loving rather than ruthless and violent. Though they can get protective over their females and young but honestly, who doesnt?
The cage is not a cage, it is their sleeping quarters, and a place for them to go if they don't want to be outside :) They have a massive outdoor area. Trust me, Howletts and Port Lympne are the five start grade in gorilla accomodation, and the Aspinall foundation do remarkable things for these beautiful creatures, as well as other species. Try not to judge by only what you see here. If you go to their website and make a small monthly donation - you will get monthly updates on all that they do.

Amazing.. I have always felt a strong connection to the Mountain Gorilla ever since I saw the family bond they share and the empathy and caring that a wild gorilla can show towards an animal of any species. An adult male (if he wanted to) could snap you in half. I Agree with the belief that they should all live wild and free. Unfortunately man has made it necessary for programs such as this. with poaching still a threat and a wild population so small they may be the key to the species survival.
i would probably shit myself if he grabbed me like that, could kill me so easily if he wanted to
