Now you spend $100 dollars and you get, what... $0.40 back. Try to return something and you have to pay for the CT money you threw out. I used to be able to save $100 over the course of a year, when you got 5% back but now I'd be lucky if I could accumulate $10 in 5 or 10 cent coupons. Canadian Tire stop wasting paper.

I happen to work for Canadian Tire and I have seen many people pay for very large purchases with their Canadian Tire money (ie. TV's, all 4 winter tires, mowers etc.)

I love Canadian Tire, their store smells awesome (it does u must admidt), and they got good selection. But seriously the money is fucking useless. I go in, buy about 40 bucks in stuff, they give me like 10 cents canadian tire money. Ye...what am i gonna do with 10 cents.. After over 5 years of saving i got about 25 dollars in CT money. 5 years for 25 dollars...big deal, i don't care.
But i drop it in the donation box on the way out of the store...not shredding it. So your wrong there

actually they give you 20% in whatever you pay of canadian tire money. i buy all of my hockey sticks there, its like you pay 100 for 5 hockey sticks, you pretty much can get 6.

I have seen what becomes of the money that is dropped off in the boxes for "Foundation for Families" You can even save it an buy gift certificates. If they gave it to you in a purchase, why shouldn't you give it back when you return something. Do you want the receipts to be in larger print so you can see the policy better? Common sense should have done the job.

I happen to work for Canadian Tire and I have seen many people pay for very large purchases with their Canadian Tire money (ie. TV's, all 4 winter tires, mowers etc.)

Are you saying that CTC Money should be given out so that you can shop at Walmart, Futureshop, Homesense, Zeller's etc. If you do not want to go back to CTC then drop it in the box on the way out the door for charity. I don't get the frustration of people that get something free just for buying something they were going to buy anyway (you don't shop to see how much CTC $ you can get).

what an idiot. In the 1970's CT did not ask for the coupons back. And guess what.. people would buy major purchases and return them the same day and make $15 a shot. Then they would use that CT money to do it again and again.If CT did not ask for the $ back, there would be idiots making a living off of buying the most expensive items and returning them. Unless the CT money has been destroyed, CT is gaining nothing.

I enjoy shopping at Canadian Tire. I have been a good customer for many years. I don't like their idea of giving us approximately 1% cash back in the form of "coupons". It's inconvenient, and Canadian Tire is only after the bottom line. It's just an excuse to get us back in the store. Maybe they could reduce all of the prices by 1% and do away with the funny money clutter. But that would make sense for the consumer. So it will not happen.
