modern India should be careful to avoid soiling her reputation with a too close affinity with the Nazi Bose. A dirty people are seldom revered. Indians are best honored by giving loyalty to their locality, their caste and the service they can undertake on behalf of others.
The real HERO of India's independence ! But he & other's like him never got credit for their sacrifices. What did their families get? Credit went to evil nehru-gandhi.
We got freedom from british but now we are ruled by corrupt politicians which are most cruel & worst than foreign rulers! These politicians are same as evil dictators of muslim countries! Innocent common man of india never got freedom !
like all the true sons of india the congress denied this great patriot his rightful place in indian history, shame shame shame, indian politians dooob maro.i salute the greatest son of my motherland.jaaaaai hind
@Anekantavad You may be right that india would have become a Japanese colony.......However it is not true that the japanese would be harsher rulers. That's just british propaganda. Remember the brits won the war. Had the Japs won, we all might be believing that the Brits were Brutal. Actually, in my opinion the Brits were far moe Brutal than the Germans or the Japs orany of the European powers. Remember, they are masters of Propaganda. Like the Americans
@sanjaytumati Actually, Japanese behaviour in China, Korea, and the conquered European colonies in the Far East (Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, etc) was harsh in the extreme. And I am not referring to the harshness that was shown to white colonists who were conquered, I am talking about the harshness shown to the Asian people. Ask a Korean or a Filipino how "gentle" the Japanese were.
@Anekantavad The victims of Japanese crimes are encouraged to come forward and the media gives them all the time. Not so for the victims of the Brits. They all but manage to black it out. Recently a book came out by a harvard historian regarding brit crimes in Kenya. Fact is, she got this info from the Brit archives themselves. quiet. Grandad spent time in a Brit jail. He says the brits somehow manage to keep their crimes out of the media. In that sense they are amazing people.
The Communists insulted him for joining with Axis powers, and Congress under Nehru's grip denied Bose and INA their rightful place in history- (Nehru refused accomodating INA veterans in Indian Army due to Viceroy's pressure)-
This is how Bose himself responded-
He rebuked someone calling Gandhi names and named One of three Batallions he raised after Gandhi and another regiment after Nehru!
Even told confidantes Japanese would have betrayed him, candidly.
Even more strange than his eccentric life is Bose's improbable death. Speculation abounds if he in fact died at Taihoku or whether that was just a ploy to escape the hangman's justice. Like other war criminals it is possible he assumed an alias - perhaps the sinister sanyasi 'Gumnami Baba'; and was shielded by an Indian Odessa whose fascist remnants can still be found in the echelons of the Indian army and BJP.

Bose would simply have turned India - then a British colony - into a Japanese one, and the Japanese were much harsher rulers.
