Cant believe this guy studied under Goldstein. Technique is SO different to the Soviet School I am used to. The vibrato, the stiff right arm (wrist), everything is so different.
That said, I bet it was amazing to sit there and hear old school Russian playing. Even with this slightly "off" audio, some of the brilliance still filters through.
Could you give some example about you consider "Soviet School"? So Oistrakh´s position was very different from other colleagues (and pupils), like Kogan, Kremer or Hirshorn.
