  • Cant believe this guy studied under Goldstein. Technique is SO different to the Soviet School I am used to. The vibrato, the stiff right arm (wrist), everything is so different.

    That said, I bet it was amazing to sit there and hear old school Russian playing. Even with this slightly "off" audio, some of the brilliance still filters through.

  • Could you give some example about you consider "Soviet School"? So Oistrakh´s position was very different from other colleagues (and pupils), like Kogan, Kremer or Hirshorn.
