I have a 2000 F150 with 215000 miles on it. It still looks and runs great, but I am ready for a new one, I love the 09 model. I got to save up some money, no more going out for a while.

Yeah. I really think that Ford is pioneering in a lot. Not so much innovation, but working with what they have without actually making anything new. The RamBox on a 1500 is innovative, but then again, it takes up bed space. Whereas the F150 comes factory equipped with removeable bins, gates, extenders, etc. which is great. Still not innovative, but surely pioneering. I love my '02, it's my first truck and hopefully my last one.

@thissitesucks74 Exactly correct. Ford has kept what works and improved on what didn't work well, or already worked great initially instead of completely redesigning something for no apparent reason. Ford's done a lot of good stuff with all their vehicles...and sad to admit, but all the other brands are just playing catch up really.

Hemi 1500 DODGE RAM 2006 megacab is built like the 2500 and tows more than F150, Chevy, and Tundra. Fuck ford with their towing lies! Dodge is also twice as reliable fuck for again. and I own Ford trucks!

I recently got an f150 xlt. You got to see it in person, videos do no justice. I got a supercrew and belive me the space is good. I seat my 3 children 2 with cars seats very comfortably. You can fold up the seats when not in use and have lots of space for groceries. I got a 4.6 3 valve 6 speed transmission, 380 horses and belive me this baby can haul. It has a pretty loud stock exhaust, you can hear it when you start it up and when you punch it. I love my f150, if anyone wants info, comment.

@Menlo22 380? I think you may of read the brochure wrong. I have a '02 F150 XLT extended cab with the 2V 4.6L V8, and it barely makes 260HP 295Torque stock, and with modifications barely breaks 330HP. The 5.7L on the other hand is 310-320HP stock. Just advice from one Ford truck guy to another.

Don't be bs'ed by "Toyota Quality" . They've had significant problems with engine failures (oil sludging, cam failures) and frame rust (due in part to not "boxing" the frame. Very inexpensive but a bad design).

@davinnyjk09 My dad has a 99 F150 and it needed a new clutch at 104,000 miles and he tows a boat with it.The tires needed replacing at the same time but only because they dry rotted,not worn out.My dad took it to the dealership and told them to put the exact same clutch clutch in it regardless of the price.

Ford and Chevy really have to do more than merely adding accessories to its cars/trucks to boost their earnings performance.

If the Japanese are able to mass produce low-cost, high performance, high durability, low maintenance, highly efficnet truck engines, why can't the Americans? I think Ford and GM are still losing behind in that regard. The Nissan Titan's V8 is so refined that it's used in the infiniti luxury sports sedans.

Might want to read the Popular Mechanics review they did on all '09 1/2 tons. The Tundra came in dead last. They agreed it was the quickest, which not many will deny. They did state the Tundra problems, very poor quality and ergonomics were it's major downfalls. All other makes had much better quality. The Titan actually came in #3, two spots above the Tundra. Comparing Sept 07 to Sept 08, the Tundra sales were down 61%, worse than either Ford or Chevy.

I didn't mention anythinga bout the Tundra. It never came across as a vehicle of quality. I am talking about the Titan, which basically shares the same block with the Infiniti line of luxury sports sedans. While Tundra's sales have slowed down in recent years, so have the sales of other trucks. This is more of an impact due to the economy, the prices of the vehicles, and the price of fuel.

True, truck sales are down across the board, but the Titan has been hit the hardest of any truck on the market, full, mid or compact size, down 41.3% for the year compared to last year. The Titan only sold 2,872 Titan in Sept 08, which was roughly 500 less than the Colorado, 1K less than the Ranger, almost 5K less than the Tundra, just over 6K less than the Tacoma and we won't even compare to the Big 3 full size sales. Now the next worse for the year is the Ram, down 29% for the year.
