Project Runway 5 Final Collection - Suede

I just finished watching all of the other decoy collections from this season, and I am more secure than ever in the feeling that they truly picked the right final 3. Even though Kenley was a nightmare, she has talent, and those painted textiles were proof. THIS is just terrible.

airing of the actual finale doesn't come on tv until after the new york fashion show so if only the final contestants showed in ny then the entire public would know who would be in the finale before it aired on tv (so suede had to show a decoy line... but many people obviously guessed that he wasn't really in the finale by the, ahem, quality of his clothes lol)

It was during Fashion Week as well. The thing was that they had to present their collections as decoy collections to keep you guessing who was in the Finale because Project Runway was still airing when the 6 of them were still in the running.

Suede was never my favorite designer and I know his was a decoy collection so he probably didn't want to work that hard. But even so the is painfully disappointing, it really looks like he didn't care AT ALL. You're given the chance to present at Bryant Park and you use it to make yourself look like a fool?

Suede used several bad ideas from all the challenges. He insulted Korto in his attempt to weave one of his tops. My grandchild can do better blind folded. He is a horrid designer and should not have gotten past the first couple of shows. Maybe anyone who can sew two pieces of clothe together should try out... Heidi step up the quality

The Bryant Park showing does not coinside with the PR Show. To keep everyone guessing they usually show 5 or 6 Designers and let the media do their thing. The show is taped well in advance and you can tell how Bryant Park influences the Judges. That why Suede went home before Kenley. Even though in the Music Challenge Kenley obviously lost.

there are decoys. during the last 6-5 episodes fashion week starts, so they have to put decoys on the runway so we don't know who are the top 3.

I happen to know via the fashion grapevine that Suede went to a very respected pattern maker to get him to pattern this "small collection." (isn't that illegal in the PR rules?) He was turned down. I don't know how Suede solved this problem as the construction of this line still seems too difficult for him to execute. I can't believe he was not laughed off the stage.

You can have someone make your patterns. You just have to pay the correct price for the work. He got 8 grand. I know he didn't spend all the money on that cheap fabric, so who knows
