@ExplosiveANIKEN I was testing you, see, every pilot needs a type rating (TR) its a education where you learn to fly the specific type of plane that you're gonna be flying, (ex. B737-800) most of the time during this training the pilot fly the plane in a simulator, and the only pilots that doesn't need any kind of TR are mostly general aviation pilots which insted have a class rating like "SEP (L)" = single engine piston (land). Anyways you failed my test since any REAL pilot would know this.

1. Will a pilot normally make an announcement to passengers that the landing will be in a cross-wind? I don't think I have ever been in a cross-wind situation in a landing, because I have never noticed the positioning to be such.

2. what is the best airplane for landing in cross wind, of the commercial variety.

@DohaRoha not sure about your first question but the stability of the aircraft is increased using dihedral wings, trimmable horizontal stabilisers and sometimes large keel areas....737s are probably best as they are small....The worst aircraft would probably be the Antonov an 225 (it has anhedral wings and are realy unstable)

The wheels on most Boeings "castor" unlike other aircraft, which is why when you are sometimes following them on a taxiway they can appear to be going sideways. The reason for the castoring is the underslung engines which have very little ground clearance. This makes it impossible to use another crosswind landing technique where the into wind wing is dropped as the aircraft is kicked strait in line with the runway.
