  • when they find out that they have to pay the P750. many have spent all their money and can only pay in US dollars. what's worse, i've heard (not 100% sure) that if you pay in US dollars, you do not get change in US $. i am sure many travelers who do not plan to visit the philippines again are dumbfounded when they get the change.

  • finally, the P750 terminal fee we pay every time i travel is going somewhere. in the future, they should get rid of the terminal fee counters altogether. if they still want passengers to pay the terminal fee, just include it in the ticket. not having counters for terminal fees means more space, less hassle, fewer complaints, a more relaxing airport experience and a better reputation for the phils. not many airports charge passengers for terminal fees. first-time visitors are usually shocked...

  • UHM SHOULD HAVE AIRPORT SUBWAY ALSO FOR EASY TRANSPORT FROM NAIA 1 INTO ANOTHER NAIA AIRPORT TERMINALS HAHAH

  • let's please make this happen. and quickly. and scandal-less-ly.

  • it looks better in glass.. white and blue lights

  • i like the new terminal but still like the old terminal

  • GALING TALAGA ANG GANDA NG EXTERIOR EH PROBLEMA NGA AY YUNG INTERIOR NG AIRPORT EH. AT IF EVER NGA NA MAG IMPROVE YANG AIRPORT NA YAN . HINDI PADIN MAG IIMPROVE MGA EMPLAYADO JAN MAY MATARAY, MAY BUHAYA AT SADLY MAY TANGA. sana ng brainstorming at nag trial and error muna sila.

  • The problem is not the design, it's the people running it.

  • so....what about that Terminal 3?

Doesn't matter what designer suit you wear whether it be Versace or Armani, if the person stinks, the odor will penetrate through.

  • @1818JoseRizal1898 i think the first step in changing the whole country, is to change the Filipinos' negative attitude first, I grew up abroad and all my life I looked up to my countrymen with positive values nurtured in them but I turned out to be wrong when I arrived in the Philippines, I had culture shock.

  • @SnappyHip

hey dont be snappy!!! we filippinos arent that negative we take pride in our culture!!!

  • @SketchupDesigns12 i think there's nothing wrong being proud of being Filipino but it's already something wrong when we keep on boasting about something that still needs to be solved, and I don't like the trend we have now, everytime a Filipino becomes famous my FB livestream is flooded by I AM PROUD TO BE PINOY, I'm like what the, aren't they concern of the 97 million Filipinos out there? It's ok to be proud but not to the extremes wherein there is not much to boast about.

  • @SnappyHip

oh well if ya put it that way then theres nothing wrong.carry on!!

  • i think kulang yung "parking" for the planes.

  • MAR ROXAS, I will NEVER vote for you if you Delay this.

  • @eml75100 bro, lumabag kasi sila sa code of ethical conduct, UAP(United Architects of the Philippines) document 200, under article 2 section 2.1 that an architect should never give free preliminary sketches, so sketches pa lang bawal na i free, eh iyan, design na talga yan, isa pa, competition po kasi iyan, pipiliin nila yung pinakamagandang design, eh sila di pa nga pinipili design nila, kine-claim na nila yung project,

  • Danda ng design!! kaka inspire mag ARCHITECTURE hahaha

  • NAIA 1 is the most profitable worst airport in the world.

  • more explanation pls... Primarily the priorities they should renovate are: their washrooms, jetbridges, ceilings, and focus more on the inner part, and the multi-level parking. I think NAIA 3 has still lots of space, much few carriers are in there, they should move some international carriers while renovating the Terminal 1. Hope they finish it by MARCH 2012!!! hahaha

Paano to.

  • Leandro V. Locsin and Associates na daw ang gagawa, okray ngayon ang Cobonpue and friends sa gobyerno dahil bigla na lang silang initsapwera!

  • approve ako sa multilevel parking, to accommodate more vehicles and save space.

  • This is good news! But I hope while they are renovating the terminal, they can transfer operations to T3. Also, hope to see new airbridge of terminal 1 because the one they use right now shows it's age.

  • No doubt we have world class malls in the Philippines. It's damn time that we show the world we have a world class airport. I'm looking forward to this.

  • New facade but same old crocodiles in the immigration counters.

  • It's not as good as it claims to be. It's all about aesthetics on the outer airport. What about the improvements on the inside which will improve passenger experience? Frankly, a lot can be improved like the immigration lanes. It's so cramped! The check-in counters area is very small. They can get rid of the spaces the banks and exchange centers occupy. They should also improve lighting and make it brighter. The baggage claim area has yet to see better days. And improve the WASHROOMS..please!!!

  • hmmm...

  • Pati sana service i-renovate din.

  • It's really so nice. Aside from the hopes that this will materialize, comes also the hope that the gov't can MAINTAIN it...

  • If they're gonna retain the interior volume of NAIA Terminal 1, then it will not address the main issues we have with the current facility.

A high ceiling design approach on its check in counter and immigration areas is a start, reducing the feeling of high congestion in these areas. This approach can be seen in terminals 2 and 3, more so in other countries.

  • may ibang ideas na pareho sa plate namin..hehe..i'm looking forward to this :)

  • "Rehabilitation plan for ‘world’s worst airport’ approved, says designer Cobonpue"

MANILA, Philippines-—A video showing the latest planned renovation design of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) terminal 1 was released through the Facebook page of Kenneth Cobonpue Tuesday.

The video description said that the NAIA-1 Renovation Plan has been approved by the NAIA Board and Department of Transportation and Communications Secretary Manuel Roxas...

    Inquired.net..

  • NAIA terminal 1 is ugly because its very dirty and congested

  • it doesn't really address the problem, it did not show anything that would improve how the airport works, its all facade. Taiwan has an old airport, but its clean and efficient

  • It's about time. NAIA 1 is one of the worst I've been to.

  • finally, this project will push through! thank God!

  • someone should send this to the president!

    2.mr. chips wrapper

    3. softdrinks sa plastic with straw

  • This pro-bono work is very noble but they already paid Palafox's masterplan back in 2004. The problem is until now it wasn't implemented.

LOL.

  • very nice. suggestion lang, maybe we could limit the number of restaurants. di naman kailangan ng maraming resto dun sa greeters area. i mean, this is an airport not a mall. enough na yung may mabibilhan ng snacks and drinks pero thats it. pag masyado marami resto sayang space and will invite more people na wala namang susunduin o ihahatid sa airport. i've been to airports in many countries and di ganun talaga kadami ang resto sa airports.

  • Looks very impressive. If built, it will indeed be an oasis of tropical luxury. But what about the area that surrounds the airport which is a veritable ghetto. You have to get rid of it too since this is the second impression that foreign visitors have of the Philiipines. You ask about the first? It is from the air when a plan lands from the west when you see rubber tyres on rooftops to hold them down.

Let's hope it gets built before we top the "worst airport in the world" two years in a row!

  • a salute for the creators of this project.. pro-bono... it means lots of filipinos really wants our country to rise up and have our own means in helping..

  • it is great that there is a special place for the well wishers, away from the arrival/departure main gate.. we have to admit it, it is in our culture, a whole clan fetches or brings a person to an airport, filipino thing..

  • how about move the airport. naia is a crowded place. and surrounding it is a whole cluster of towns. clark need to be the new gateway of the philipppines.
