I just started a youtube account to share my music. I really dig Jesu, Nadja, Planning for Burial stuff like that. I'd love to get some feedback on the track I have up. It's reminiscent of this if anyone wants to check it out.
i passed up Jesu in years past while i was riding my Isis/Pelican wave.....and never went back into the more atmospheric side of things since i'm a death metal guy.....but THIS, this song.....THIS. fucking THIS. is what i need right now.
@warwick2155 I actually have quite a taste for atmospheric, original, independent 'out there' music. But this is just noisy, fuzzy, out of tune and unorginized. Maybe my mind just can't sense some dimensions of sound that yours all can, because I'm definately missing something if this music is good. Or it could be that the recording is a bit on the shitty side. There is potential :P This band is an unpolished stone. I just highly dislike high, unnecessary levels of distortion bleh.
@WeAreAllPretend listen to Godflesh, another band by JKB, cant get more intense than that. Only certain people will appreciate this kind of music. Godflesh are more industrial metal like fear factory
@WeAreAllPretend Justin likes to create music with extreme emotion, I think that's the part in which is throwing you off; keep listening until you can see through the distortion.
you need to listen more carefully, id recommend playing it through headphones or try increasing the bass just a bit and listening closer to to the speakerz. :3
@WeAreAllPretend yea music is never as good through the computer as through headphones. most computers dont even play the bass to its full potential, the ones I use dont at least
This is the best shit ever. I only wish it would come across better when they play live. Technical difficulties seem to get the best of them... love this band.
Everyone we meet in this life are just emotional teachers, they're here to make us stronger, We're just as evil as our friends, their just teachers and mirrors.
We all just simply....are....
On another note this has to be my most listened to song by jesu.
this makes me never wanna listen to anything on the radio again. when music like this is out there why does the radio and music television play the crap they try and force feed the population.
@batfreak28 because they"re payed to/they're owned by record companies. :( Radio's dead, man. And If really gets to you, you could try to start your own station and bring good radio back (if there ever was any).
@batfreak28 The only difference between this and radio music is these guys TRY to write music, and don't just follow the formula. Justin himself said that the point of Jesu is to write pop songs with perfect structure and emotional conviction.
@batfreak28 Essentially, this is metal. But it has qualities of pop - the better qualities, obviously - also, a band's artistic vision of their music is usually very different than how everyone else sees it. Sabbath considered themselves nothing but a rock'n'roll band. BMTH considers themselves grindcore. That's the thing about music, it's all open to interpretation. This is metal, this is pop, this is jazz, this is classical, this is whatever the fuck you want it to be - it's whatever YOU hear.
@batfreak28 They force feed the population bland material because it sells, requires no thought, and it's there. Some people like it. I sure as hell don't. F the radio. All it is is just a bunch of stupid dub step and whiny crap with no substance.
@jacob7207 I apsolutely agree with you;I consider those peaple who like this selling operations without a decent concience.I'm so glad Broadrick isn't that kind of a person;he's music proves it
@jfeuiebf Yeah, that particular group of people from that moment in time have all gone on to do many great things. Mick Harris went on to form the grindcore/ambient/dub/improvised free jazz group Painkiller with John Zorn and Bil Laswell, which is probably my favourite post-napalm death invocation. Jesu is a close second.
ha, I'm always torn about the songs on this album. Beautiful, but just devastating at the same time. So easy to get retrospective and look at life in less than a positive way while listening to this at night.
hey @warwick2155 .....you must be a failed musician. people like you need to not ever comment on the topic of music ever again
