  • He looks like a young Elvis in this video so cool :)

  • deutscher sender hugh !!

  • oooo! his hair is bouncy. i wonder what shampoo he uses...

    2:29 sounds like unicorn dreams.

  • @BJamesThompson "sounds like unicorn dreams" hahaha without a doubt one of the funniest comments i've read posted on a classical video!

  • @lentoagitato HAHA! awesome =] do you agree though? you have to. if i ever hear a unicorn dreaming...it would sound like 2:29.amazing.

  • Oh please, if only they could just record it in a new album!! I've never seen spanish piece played like that!

  • fantastic....genial

  • Thank you, Lang Lang for destroying this piece. Turina has awoken up in his grave!!! No se debe de modificar la partitura para lucimiento personal!!! qu horror!!

  • Lang Lang PWNS ALL! lol Hes really my favorite player right now!

  • Purina...Puppy Chow. My God...

  • Since I'm quite young, and not very well-educated in regards to what one may call "musicality," why do people express dislike for his mannerisms/body-language he uses while playing?

  • TERRIBLE

  • To Nosehow2LIV do that like LL that is a very good hope to you....!!!!!!!!!

  • 0:34 christiano ronaldo after he made a goal

  • A great occasion to give this joyous, warm piece an outing, with starry cast, but undermined by rythmic instability, pausings, scamperings, screeching of brakes would have hardly been surprising as an additional accompaniment! Unable to play a tune naturally, LL has left himself victim of his mannerisms. A pity; spoilt natural talent.

  • You know -- I've been a musician my whole life -- organist, conductor, etc. and I have yet to understand the case against Lang Lang. I just don't understand it. I listen, I watch, I enjoy, I am impressed. I'm not sure what dogma he breaks, but I find the hatred for him to be incomprehensible.

  • There's not hatred, only regret. First cos the MUSIC is not given its due, and in this case is distorted & misrepresented, secondly, cos LL started with an obvious natural talent,(can be heard on early performances), which has been hijacked by star image, personal glory, marketing, etc. No wonder there's little true musicality left. A favorit neglected piece needs special care, most listeners will have no other reference. Here it is simply abused.

  • Just listened again: the first part is acceptable,(tho not my cup of T, too soupy!).4.40he sets pace far too fast so5.06 can't reply to orchestra.5.30: theme too slow(&soupy!)for counter-rythm to"speak",6.14no rythm in each reply6.30again toofast, 6.42brakes on; 6.52some of U may find it"exciting"; for me it's rough bashing; 7.06rythm chopped up;8.00 orchestra reply shd be joyous expression, not imitation Rachmaninoff, 8.11bashing....Why attempt a piece if there's no understanding?

  • If one searches, there are fine recordings to do the piece full justice: Alicia de Larrocha, Eileen Joyce(in "vintage" sound).... Turina needs above all rythmic feeling for the many counter-themes to"speak" and that's what undermines this performance fatally. Of course "soupiness", "roughness",

"bashing", etc can always remain a matter of opinion & taste. If many people prefer this, I wish them the best, but it's only skimming the surface and and a barrier to deeper appreciation.

  • Lang Lang played this piece in 2002 when he gets the "Leonard Bernstein Award".

  • Beautiful.
