Hakumen's gauge auto charges at a certain rate. Attacking and taking damage also raises the gauge. Regular specials take between 1-3 stars depending on the move. Super 1 takes 4 stars, super 2 takes 8 stars and gives you increased star regen for a period of time enabling you to do a damn near 100 percent depending if the opponent has or hasn't barrier bursted at that time but then again anyone other than v-13 that early bursts is pretty much a moron.

To add to Zhainess' comments... Various specials use up the gauge, supers tend to use a ton of it. It charges over time, faster when hitting/being hit, and you get a large burst of it for successfully pulling off one of his Counters.

i say he is similar to Roby-Ky's gauge and game play but Hakumen doesnt have to manual charge it.
