and there is always that scenario where people will only do the minimum job because they don't get any thing extra for doing extra work. extra work moves us forward as a race. however I wouldn't mind side effects like improving nationalism. it seems like communism frequently improves national ism at least for the majority of the population

I myself waver back and forth on the wage idea; ultimately some Communists would like to abolish currency altogether. Personally I think that people should be paid on a supply/demand basis; depending on which labour type is more scarce, then more incentives should be dropped.

hmmm your idea with supply/demand might work. but like with many ideas regarding wage you need the right people or a central goal to work toward. society would have to work like a family. every one does their job and every one gets their equal share. but even in some families they fight and don't along, or one member doesn't do their job right and and the house goes to ruins.

so I agree communism might work but the larger the population gets the harder it will be to keep every one satisfied.

Natural inclination toward your job helps a lot in any society weather it be capitalist or socialist.

I think the German school system is more geared toward finding you a job that you are natural inclined to and training you for that job early on or earlier than American school systems. infact i think that they send you to a job training around the American equivalent to 7th or 9th grade. (don't quote me on that i'm not entirely sure)

Mhmm but the problem with such a system within the capitalist world economy is that it makes first-world nations uncompetitive. Sure we do need certain services such as plumbing or electricians but when it comes to manufacturing and exports European nations can't compete because our labour is too expensive; and we can't cut wages because of living expenses, so the third-world has the advantage. That's why the UK government is trying to send everyone to university, which simply doesn't work.

To be honest, once capitalism develops too far in a country it dooms itself to slow decline. At some stage living standards are going to have to drop.

No matter what economic policy a nation has it will have to shift to a different system eventually because like you said living cost will eventually become too high and will lead to the end of manufacturing. maybe some sort of combination of socialism and capitalism would be ideal because each has its merits but both don't seem to work for large countries at some point

I grew up in tokyo japan, where the best school system in the world is, and I still don't know what the fuck communism EXACTLY was, other than a form of government that was , apperentely, bad and /or oppressive. Now, I ALWAYS sucked at school, but even I found it odd that whenever I asked my teachers about communism, they'd get mad and say-"you don't need to know anymore than what the law requires us to teach." they'd say that same EXACT sentance each time, then TELL me to leave...
