He received a memo about it Osama Bin Laden's plans to attack the month before September 11, yet it still happened. Under George Bush. @scienceatheism I don't know whether or not Obama, Clinton, or any other person would have been able to prevent the attack. But that's neither here nor there. The fact is that 9/11 happened while Bush was in office. Whether or not the attack is preventable doesn't matter, the point is he didn't prevent it, so you can't really say he "kept us safe." It's just completely illogical to even suggest that someone "kept you safe" when the largest attack in US history happened while they were in office.

ok if you are going the logical route. think about this, the reason why people said george bush kept them safe is because he acted when the terrorsist attacks happened. he didnt allow another attack. thats why people said he kept us safe because after 9/11 nothing else happened. personally i wouldnt give that credit to bush, but if you are looking at the world through conservatives eyes, then yes bush helped this country feel safe again.
