I think you don't realize how much of a success windows 7 is. Linux for the average user is not good. Plus everything is compatible with windows. I have tried Linux and i like it but its not for me. I am just to familiar with windows. Windows was made to be simple and elegant and useful. I think that Linux will go enterprise but not in the next couple of years. You get what you pay for oh wait Linux is free hahah.

hmm. I never said i paid for the operating system. I didn't pay for vista or xp or 7. Minimal system changes? lol what planet are you from. 7 has many new features over windows vista, its lighter, faster, and UAC isn't as annoying. I'm done with this, How many percentage of people use Linux? and how many people use windows, my point is Most people don't even know about Linux. Uh you do realize ppl who use windows are ppl who are dumb and dont know how to use computers there is no diff that u would notice on 9.04 & 9.10 other then speed. it runs much faster. linux can do the most amazing effects yet run lightning fast while using the least bit of ram. tell me ur windows 7 can do that? xp is still better then 7 and whats more sad. 2000 is still the most stable windows! linux has some of the most stable OSs ever! ppl dont know about it, cuz they dont advertise ITS FREE!

Poeple who use windows are dumb? so 90% of people are dumb? doesn't sound right to me. People who use windows are smart it is compatible with everything. Windows 2000 is a great OS i agree with you on that point but it is not where near as stable as windows 7 microsoft did a grest job on it. You can say what you want to say i think linux is great for what it is, i would never pay for it though if it went enterprise.

2000 is old technology, its slowing the the future of software down when companies have to make sure there software is compatible with windows 2000. February 17, 2000! was the release date 5.0 is the version. 5.1 is XP, XP and 2000 are the same all thats different is the UI. 7 is a great OS, you should give it a go, then make judgments about it.

Make sure you have the final release which is 7600. Ultimate is the best version of the lot. Whatever works for you i guess is the best option and in your situation Ubuntu it is. Use what you like, thats what it all comes down to. Windows is great, now anyway vista was a fail, why do you think they released 7. 7 is what vista was ment to be.

cuz they release them all the time all companies do. what i hate about microsoft they never test anything.. like the orignal xbox they did so they can compete with sony.. they got cocky and never tested 360.. same with most windows.. by using windows.. ur paying them to test there product and ur paying them to fix the bugs... thats why there rich

There rich because people have brought the products, which are good. I'm sure they test there products. Nothing is perfect or bug free. Those bugs are usually fixed for free in a service pack. But to get the service pack you need a licensed version of windows, so technically its not free.

You actually do pay for windows when you buy a windows computer. Linux is good, I installed it on my sisters laptop she is a retard when it comes to computers. She has never used Linux and she says that its easier to use then windows. I was surprised.

i would like you to know. ubuntu can do evrything.. u just need to know how to do them and most things can be done by a simple sudo command.. i found one i put somewehre i can use any windows games or programs on my ubuntu.. very simple... and things such as wow work much better thanks to linux.

XP is still a great OS and it always will be just wait to windows 7 sp1 comes out it will be more stable then it already is! i have a gaming system why would i want to use linux? unused RAM is wasted ram and wasted money.

well thats great! now is ur comp running lightning fast like my 10 year old comp with gentoo on it.. it has 512mb ram.. its running as good as my friends xp with 9gb ram! and my 9gb ram is running like a king! i can play up too 3 high quality games without lag! when i get to the 4th it starts to get a lil wonky...
