Thanks for posting. I was 11, six grade. I remembered that Signal 10 was hoisted in the middle of night, I couldn't sleep at all and watched TV all night. There were special TVB programs to accommodate that. It was scary and the house was shaky!

It was indeed quite a horrific experience. May I ask where you were when you experienced Ellen? How did the wind sound like?

At my home,I didn't know how to describe,just vivi...sound,I felt little scare because I was only nine.Ellen was strong typhoon because it was a dry wind.

Were you in Macau? The center of Ellen passed very close to Macau in the morning.

I lived in Macau,I cannot sleep in whole night,because I worried about my home's window were broken and my mother told me that Hurricane signal no 10 was hoisted.that was my first experience in signal no 10.

Thank You. I was just a kid and wasn't allowed to listen to these radio broadcast at late night.

I love these announcements. Much MUCH MUCH better than those announcers these days.

Because I slept for three hours. My mother urged me to sleep. But actually, I wanted to continue at least until getting the 11pm warning. But I was tired enough that I did fall asleep for three hours.

Back in those years, the typhoon warning announcers were from both RTHK and CRHK. I know that they are not doing that anymore.

Yeah, I recognize his voice. Is his name 陳森? I also recognize a voice that sounds like 周老闆 in 十八樓C座 (5-8am and 10-11am). The guys from 2 to 4am were from RTHK. From 12 onward, the guy's voice sounds like a football commentator in RTHK. Do you recognize his voice?
