  • The Hitch is dead, long live The Hitch! :'-l

  • I've seen many of Hitch's interviews on YouTube, but it almost brought a tear to my eye to seem him this gaunt. His body may have been dying, but his mind was very much alive and his ideas will live on in our minds forever. Thank you for everything, Mr Hitchens.

  • @CokeSupply very true. he's more boring than the pastor at the church i was forced to attend. i'm sure he's intelligent and all, but he can't keep my attention long enough to find out.

  • I've watched this already, but everytime someone else uploads a Hitch speech I have to give the new uploader a view. Thanks for it man, Ive never felt the pain of someones death as much as Christopher's, but man I'm glad I can know him through the work he's left behind.

Rest In P... well, thanks Hitch.

  • Brilliant!thanks for uploading.A superb quote at the end-'anyone who can lead you into the promised land can lead you out'.A sublime and heroic warning from a dying hero.

  • whats with the new snow flake button?

  • I hope we in the UK get to attend a similar convention with Dawkins...but alas i shall never have the chance to see the courageous intellectual that was Christopher Hitchens...R.I.P comrade!

  • @MrPoisonedantidote Try ALT+F4. Thank me later.

  • @gooofy2285 :P I see what you did.

  • @MrPoisonedantidote Really, he goes on far too long! He is making his arguments instead. Not that they are bad arguments, but they were waiting for CH, RIP.

  • @MrPoisonedantidote We found the button to shut you up - fucking troll.

  • @hwangyi74 on the contrary, they've gained much by doing so. Religion and it's believers have enjoyed free reign for some time. Dawkins and Hitch are standing up to that.

  • @hwangyi74 I don't think they are attacking religion so much as they are attacking the suspension of logic.

  • @hwangyi74 with people such as yourself no obviously not you are determined to believe in a god come what may

  • @hwangyi74 Religion is a plague of out minds and society if they use their lives to eradicate it they would probably in the future save some people from god and they will be great scientists etc them selves.

  • Richard Dawkins next please asap

  • RIP Hitch, you will always be remembered as a warrior against ignorance!

  • RIP Buddy.

  • @TheLordOfHost1 In case god really exists then am sure Hitch is bitch slapping god right now.

  • @werebull There are many great figures today who are both inspiring and enlightening. Have you considered Ray Kurzwell? I hope you have not, because he'll really open new worlds of thought for you.

  • 26:57 awww

  • Goodbye Hitch, we could use another two decades of hitchslapping now more than ever.

  • He was the closest our generation got to Orwell.

  • I wish we had more people like him.

  • What an incredibly courageous man.

  • RIP Hitch youll be missed

  • RIP

  • A rare man with a mission . . . his words will be a beacon to a confused and cruel world. RIP.

  • fuck. this news is the first time i've ever cried at the death of a public figure....

  • @325982668 you are not alone my friend.

  • RIP Christopher Hitchens you will be missed...

  • The hug Dawkins gives Hitch at 26:55 was so heartwarming. You can really see how sad he is to see his friend in such a state.

  • Seeing Hitch like this brings me to tears, this man truly is my hero.

  • We need more people like Hitch and Dawkins to make this a better world...Humanism and reason are the ways to go...Viva Hitch!!

  • A giant of our time, thanks Hitch.

  • A true giant.

  • I hope he pulls thru... for himself and his relatives, but also for us: Human civilisation needs him now more than ever...

  • He himself Hitchens says that Jesus must be telling the truth or he is a deluded liar. So with the evidence submitted written about him, Jesus is telling the truth.

  • I'm running out of people who I find inspiring. Bill Hicks is dead, Carl Sagan is dead, George Carlin is dead, and now Hitchens is on his way out. I'm only 25 and I find myself more and more anachronistic and without heroes.

  • @Werebull I just hope that Dawkins and David Attenborough can last for a while. We are seriously running out of these intelligent and open minded beings.

  • Hitch = Man of The Year.

  • I loved seeing this. As serious and moving as this speech was, there's a moment at 5:50 where someone farted. I remember being somewhere next to it, and trying my damnedest not to make an ass of myself from laughing. You can still hear it haha

  • Christopher looks like he's fighting terrorists in an action movie rather than cancer. But then when he started speaking he sounded like a top-notch villain from such a hollywood stable.

  • Christopher Hitchens show courage of the kind I've never seen in my lifetime.

  • @sbagg88 shows, not show. eeesh, sorry.

  • Thanks for all the reinforcements, religious_troll_011.

  • 26:55 is the nicest moment.

  • Haters of God, filthy blasphemers

  • I'm sad to think that I came to know some little bit of this man so late in his time here, but I'm also very proud that in just a few short weeks of being exposed to his insights, he has, in turn, exposed me to so many things of which I was previously unaware. Thank you Hitch!

"Why in the world, can't I have a hero like you?"

"Because you shouldn't need or want heros."

  • "THE HITCHSLAP"

  • Hitch! Keep fighting!!!

  • Inspirational.

Just an observation: I noticed that only christians and creationists (although one in the same) are the only ones who disable comments. It seems to be a carbon copy of the way they are in real life.

This is one of my all time favourite videos just after one watch! Although I have said something, I am left speechless and inspired!

  • @callstarnz No point to censor comments. I believe most objective people can understand what they are talking about.

  • @callstarnz you'll have your chance to speak before God.

  • @callstarnz Thunderf00t said that once, about how he would would never disable comments but the people featured on his show do.

  • Such a great and inspiring speech. It is great to hear his voice again...and hopefully we can continue to hear more. Keep fighting Hitchens.

  • @torontoBluejays87 Satan was truly moved with laughter at the speech from these fools leading many of you into his arms.

  • @warriorspikes51 If by Satan you mean arrogant, heartless and deluded Christian fundamentalists like yourself, then yes I would agree that he/she is laughing.

  • Kudos to Hitchens but Dawkins seems to be a intelligent moron... To just say religion is the problem of everything is stupid.. These are symptoms of our biological short comings, our inability to handle fear, anxiety, pleasure or our complete ignorance of our selves and our mind.

  • @KarthikSoun I have to agree with you. As much as I agree with Dawkins, there's something cheap and mean (in both senses) to his argument. He's right to admire Hitchens. He should aspire to some of his subtlety of thought as well. For instance, his reptilian brain remark was nothing more than an ignorant school yard taunt. Lacking true wit, Dawkins often comes off as merely nasty and shallow.

  • @edwdixon5 Its either heavy sarcasm or u agree,i cant get which one. There is no seat of consciousness, its just memory. Its the reptilian brain that is keeping us some what sane. Basic instincts like dont step in front of a moveing bus etc., are automatic safety measures which is part of our basic biology. The problem is with thought and more complex parts of the mammal brain. In that sense Atheism will also not free us from this neurotic situation, it will become another program(religion).

  • Can't believe he looks so lean ... :-(

  • It's such a shame; I can't think of many other people we'd need to have stick around for as long as possible. Mr. Hitchens has opened so many minds -- my own included. His ideas and analysis are so rare and potent... we'll surely benefit from them -- we have already, but in the world's current state we could use another 20 years of his talents. Keep fighting Christopher; build up that wall.

  • Mr. Hitchens has so much more to say to a world that needs to listen. Dawkins and HItchens are both wonderful speakers.

  • here here!

  • The Hitch is pure class i'll bless him not god !!!!

  • @thisismyname1987 one day you'll bow on your knees and praise God

  • @warriorspikes51 Well it'd be a change than on my knee's for a priest again !!!

  • You will live on through us all, Hitch! Your words will continue to resonate with us all, long after your gone and they will certainly never be forgotten.

  • @binx2629 no they won't, there will be no memory of the wicked.

  • @warriorspikes51 You sir, are wrong. I will remember that I can promise, as well as scores more many of whom can be found right here on this forum... "The sleep of reason brings forth monsters." - C.H.

    FUCK OFF

  • He's so true, the moment one believes something just because it says it in a book, you loose your status as a fully paid-up human being.

  • @chrish12345 there's no truth coming out of the man's mouth, and there's none from your's either

  • @warriorspikes51 At least he deals in logical debate and not cheap jibes like you, unless you'd like to justify yourself?

  • Fantastic human beings.

  • @Sinbad94CSD if by fantastic you mean abominable, sure.

  • Keep fighting Hitch! you are my hero.....
