Wow!! Our band director told us to watch this video to see what a top notch band program does. Our band has gone to state a few times but you guys are a legend in this state. Everyday when we get sidetracked and loose focus our band director says "wonder what dripping springs is doing right now?" this band us a real inspiration!

This is really an incredible performance. I'm from Mckinney High School, ( you guys probably don't know who we are ) last year was my freshman year, and this really solidified my interest in marching band. ( That and Phantom Regiment :P ) Hopefully we'll go to state next year in 2011 and be able to see you guys there, we've greatly improved since last year and might have what it takes now. Congrats to the Dripping Springs band! P.S. your slow piece was the same as ours :P

We have friends who live in McKinney (they have a trumpet-playing son in middle school, so you'll meet him soon...), and we've marched at the Centennial in Frisco, just down the road from you guys. Wow, a well deserved victory. I graduated from Waxahachie High School last year, and we got 8th at state...the first time our band has ever made state finals in school history. I was a wonderful feeling being in the top 10 with bands like these. :)

My school Whig is friendswood high got 2nd but I'm not sad or mad . I am happy y'all got first it doesn't madder how u did the other day or that mornin it's how you did that day .we just got out marched .I'm just happy I was marching on the band that got 2nd and went to state every time this decade and got 2nd and1time 3rd place and 1 time 4th I think but we will just have to do better in 2012

I have watched this performance many times and am convinced! Your skills are so good both from marching fundamentals and balanced musical sound. I know you won state, but you have no idea how much far above you are from other states, even 5A Texas! I'm done with 5A bigger/bigger syndrome. You are where it is at and keep doing it directors and students! I will watch for you again in years to come.

I taught in 'THE' top band progam in Texas for a number of years and have to say that this was a VERY impresiive performance. The arrangement is awesome and the marching fundamentals are executed extremely well. You should all be proud of yourselves for such an amazing performance! Kudos and congrats to all the kids and band staff!!!

This is one of the most amazing shows i have seen. The music and musicality was amazing. Everything blended so well together. The melodies at 2:23 and and 4:25 were amazing. Overall a very good show, worthy of first place.

Marching wise not the best I have ever seen. Music wise though WOW!!!!! Nice Trumpet and Horns. The playing ability of this group of kids is outstanding. Is it just me or are woodwinds some of the worst marchers :)

This show has the quality of a great DCI performance. Pacing is great, no excessive props, music is both strong and sensitive, with a dose of drama. My congratulations go out to the directors and writers of this show, and to all the performers for making magic happen. I had not heard of Dripping Springs HS before, but this show has inspired me to continue my music degree (I'm a junior in college), with the hope that I can help create music like this. Huge congratulations, and continued success!

Dripping Springs took 1st in State several times in a row back in the 80s when they were a 2A band. They placed 8th in finals last time (2007). Thanks for your comments!
