the break pearl is my favorite ball in my bag and i also have a ebonite magic touch roto grip rouge cell hammer burn and storm virtual energy and the break pearl is by far the ball i get the most results out of i have yet to use it on sports patterns though so i cant say much on that end of it
both balls look excelent, I regret getting my purple ogre pearl just a tad bit, I got it about 5 or 6 weeks ago and have shot a 244 with it, I had gotten the cell about 8 or 9 weeks ago and love it shot a 267 with it. But this coming high school bowling season IM going to get both, the break and break pearl, Looks like 900 global is a very good company, look forward to there future bowling balls.
As of right now, 900G is grassroots registered only. That means folks can use their equipment in PBA regional competition, but not on the Denny's Tour. In some "non-Tour" events, bowlers have used the equipement -- Steve Jaros used a Break at the Japan Cup last year, for example.
uh...not really, both have incredible continuation through the pins...the pins might "fly" more, but look at the number of almost nine pins I leave with the Break.
I'd say Break Solid with a very weak layout (5.5-6 inch pin-PAP) and some surface. That should get down the lane and make a controlled move.
To be honest, though, I might just look into a Creature or Creature Pearl. Those will have more natural OOB length and a more controlled move than either Break.
would it be more like a widow pearl? i have the widow solid but wanted to replace my rampage. what about the break pearl with some polish? i like the way it hits and reacts.
I'm a med speed/med hand bowler who strokes/tweens it. I only ball league atm and usually prefer a smooth, archy ball. However, I've never seen backend like this before, and am just wondering if this would be a ball of choice for a THS. I average 215 ish right now, and make my spares. Will this ball give me a shot at better carry? If so, should I start out with the pearl or the solid? Thanks! Any help is greatly appreciated!
On a THS, you often have a large amount of area. This area will allow you to use a ball like the Break Pearl with much success, and the increased entry angle will give you better carry, especially as you move in later in the series. You might start with a more arcing ball, then switch, moving inside the carrydown and using the dry to your right. I see no reason the Pearl wouldn't be a great choice, especially since you already can bowl with much success.
The pearls were recently released, and hard to find. Anyone who's looking for one (or any 900 Global ball) should email shermansproshop at gmail dot com. I highly recommend this pro shop, and they have excellent prices.
On a note about this video, great job on the comparison of the two, and the overlay! I'm glad to see the clip wasn't edited to only strike shots, so you can actually get a feel for the balls' reactions with hand position changes.
wow the carry is bad with that layout!

i thouhght it was only me, but the ''rico'' layout dont make the pins carry great.. i have it on my bounty hunter
ricky050391 2 years ago
the rico layout isnt meant to hit super hard and carry everything, its meant to give the payer as much control as possible

how would the pearl break compare the the brunswick bvp rampage? looking to replace that puppy.. getting all beat up..
adamy0shii 4 years ago 2
A little less length, more midlane, and a stronger backend reaction. I'd say it can handle a bit more oil.

More like a Widow Pearl...yes, to some extent.
If you wanted to replace your Rampage with a BP, consider a weaker drilling (at least 5 inches pin-pap).
What is your rev-rate, axis rotation, etc.? If we knew that, it would be easier to determine the proper layout, etc. needed.
