ok here's a comment for everyone. this video may generalize illegal immigrants. but here's my take, if you are an illegal immigrant and don't want to suffer under gradually increasing restrictions then get your green card or get out. you don't like it leave. don't try to get pity out of people who have worked here their entire lives and or who have legally immigrated into this country. don't give us your sob story about how things are bad there. get here through legal channels or stay out.

Last month the Tennessee Attorney General decided that illegal aliens could marry. No social security number, no proof of identity. Citizens would have to provide identification. This is similar to Tennessee providing drivers licenses and then certificates without social security numbers to illegal aliens. Tennessee just keeps repeating the same mistakes & keeps getting more illegal aliens that overburden the state, increase insurance rates, financially cripple health care, education,etc.

I fully agree that companies using immigration status as an excuse to pay sub standard wages whould be held accountable. My dispute is with those who accuse the workers being exploited in this fashion of "driving down wages". This is blaming the victim. I sincerely doubt anyone is going to their employer and saying, "Senor, this is too much money."

Hi my husband and I are wanting to emigrate to the USA. I'm American, and He is British. We have to go through the legal process at the American Embassy. My husband had to get a police check from Scotland Yard, he also had to get proof of sponsorship to show that we would not use American Welfare.We are both qualified professionals who pay taxes and who are wanting to do it legally. It's just so hard. Not impossible but hard.

But we still need to keep our voices out there. Once they are arrested (if they are) the illegals are sent back to Mexico (maybe) and then they sneak right back in, or sneak hell they just walk across the "border" and continue life without income taxes and repercussions.

The problem with focusing on the crimes of illegals is that it doesn't take into account those illegals who are obeying the law. Of course, no one wanted to give criminals (whether illegal aliens or 4th generation citizens) drivers' licenses. But as to drivers' licenses, it makes more sense to get everyone documented than to not get them documented, if you're genuinely interested in security.
nicholas9999. I never said they all commit violent crimes. In NY once they get their drivers licence they can then vote. 3 of the Sept 11th 2001 terrorist had legal drivers licenses. Given them a drivers licence will not make them safer drivers. Will not make them pay insurance and will not stop them from blowing up buildings if they are terrorist but they will be able to vote!
conserv: Actually, an undocumented worker without a driver's license is probably more likely to run away from a traffic stop, making him more dangerous. In most places, a cop asks for proof of insurance or you gotta have it to get your license tags. I gotta say, the idea of a terrorist lining up to cast his vote is a funny image. Man, seriously, we would be better off with MORE documentation on people, even if there's a few terrorists that vote!

Last month the Tennessee Attorney General decided that illegal aliens could marry. No social security number, no proof of identity. Citizens would have to provide identification. This is similar to Tennessee providing drivers licenses and then certificates without social security numbers to illegal aliens. Tennessee just keeps repeating the same mistakes & keeps getting more illegal aliens that overburden the state, increase insurance rates, financially cripple health care, education,etc.

This will work only if the process for attaining legal status is considerably streamlined. The "millions" waiting to come here legally will not wait years to do so, and the comparitive trickle of legal immigrants will not compensate for a wholesale roundup and deportation of illegals. How do we balance the needs of the workforce while those ready to do the job now wait in line for legal status?

My dispute is with those who accuse the workers being exploited in this fashion of "driving down wages". This is blaming the victim. My husband had to get a police check from Scotland Yard, he also had to get proof of sponsorship to show that we would not use American Welfare.We are both qualified professionals who pay taxes and who are wanting to do it legally. Once they are arrested (if they are) the illegals are sent back to Mexico (maybe) and then they sneak right back in, or sneak hell they just walk across the "border" and continue life without income taxes and repercussions.

The problem with focusing on the crimes of illegals is that it doesn't take into account those illegals who are obeying the law. Of course, no one wanted to give criminals (whether illegal aliens or 4th generation citizens) drivers' licenses. But as to drivers' licenses, it makes more sense to get everyone documented than to not get them documented, if you're genuinely interested in security.

nicholas9999. I never said they all commit violent crimes. In NY once they get their drivers licence they can then vote. 3 of the Sept 11th 2001 terrorist had legal drivers licenses. Given them a drivers licence will not make them safer drivers. Will not make them pay insurance and will not stop them from blowing up buildings if they are terrorist but they will be able to vote!

conserv: Actually, an undocumented worker without a driver's license is probably more likely to run away from a traffic stop, making him more dangerous. In most places, a cop asks for proof of insurance or you gotta have it to get your license tags. I gotta say, the idea of a terrorist lining up to cast his vote is a funny image. Man, seriously, we would be better off with MORE documentation on people, even if there's a few terrorists that vote!

nicholas9999. lol, I did not say the terrorist would want to vote. I said given illegals drivers license would not keep us safe. A drivers license will not make illegals better drivers either. Also if they had their license taken away do you believe for one min they would stop driven. What are we going to do, depart them. Thats a great idea. Also once you get your drivers licence in NY you can vote. Hillary loves it!

conserv: At least if they go take a driver's test, you'll be able to tell if they can drive at all!! The entire idea is to get them into the system so we can know who any person is. The idea is to get people identified, so if they commit a crime, you at least got a pic of them, or maybe you have a decent address.

I believe one reason why conservatives can't get fired up is because of this issue. We need someone who will defend Americans and our culture, but the top tier candidates have records that may prove otherwise. Conservatives lack a voice - that's the problem. I hope I'm wrong and we prevail.

Build the wall that should have been built years ago and patrol the border. If police come across illegals during a traffic violation send them back from where they came from. Im not for house to house search. Just send them back from where they came as we come across them.

US citizens kill a heck of a lot more (around 40 per day)We've created an unbelievably violent culture here. How dare we be shocked by the results! Lately, the liberal Democrats have been smearing Tancredo for his TRUE television ad, calling him a fear monger and saying he's exaggerating. They just are to ignorant, to oblivious to understand that we need to secure our borders. If these people want to be part of our country (the non-criminal ones), go through the proper steps to enter legally, otherwise stay in your own country. We don't know whether they're a murderer or a rapist of a terrorist or whatever! This is ridiculous!!
