@crazymike44 Re your comment of 3 months ago as to why Rush are not in the Hall of Fame. Personally, I'm glad this is the case. Who are the ones that decide those worthy enough to make it to the Hall of Fame? Corporate entities, it would seem to me. I guess that Rush isn't considered cool enough; or don't happen to measure up to whatever standards the industry deems worthy. I've always been cynical about those handing out awards. I like Rush and care less if they are officially recognized.
@crazymike44 Well, apparently the inductees are all chosen by the woman who started the whole thing (which might explain why Run DMC and ABBA are in there :/), at least that's what I heard on a video about another band who really should be have been inducted by now, but hasn't. Besides, when Rush got that star on the Walk of Fame they told some of the reporters they would probably turn down the offer if it was made, because they don't want to be in the hall anyway.
Let me put it like this. If you were Geddy, Alex, or Neil, looking out at the thousands of people who attend your shows every night, and see fans from the 70s bringing their kids along to the show, not to mention all the other fans in their teens and twenties in the audience, what would you be thinking? Imagine the satisfaction that they draw from knowing that their legacy - their music - will outlive them.
That's more valuable than a statue in a hall, in my book.
Love listening to this while I work...makes me think how were all part of someone's Big Money...
