No to scare anyone by any means. This is a great product. I how ever have a problem with it feeling like it is burning my nose. The water is not that hot I even did it with my dr to make sure I was doing at all right and do make me feel better they did it with me. :) great people. My Dr. told me it would go way after a while I have had really bad sinus problems, it is slowly getting better. Please try it and if it burns at first make sure the water isn't to hot and try again. KEEP USING IT! :)
@RisaTheeLizardGirl Are you adding some salt to the water? I use a about 1/8 teaspoon baking soda & then 1/4 teaspoon (i think that's how much!) of pink sea salt. The salt really helps it feel better in the nose. Also, are you using tap water? Maybe city water? You could try buying some mineral water or distilled water from the store, so that you know it doesn't have any weird stuff in it. LOL Or you may just have a super sensitive nose ;)))
@RisaTheeLizardGirl Oh, i also test the temperature of the water on my wrist first - i like it so it feels pleasantly warm on the skin. That way, you know it wont be too hot in the nose =)
Just for some people to know, if you use the NetiPod and nothing comes out the other side, you ether have an obstruction that can be cause by nasal polips or a really chronic sinus condition in this case you might have to see a doctor.
A fellow voice teacher recommended this to me and I had never heard of it. After years and years of dealing with sinusitis every winter and spring, I decided to try it. I LOVE THE NETI POT! I definitely recommend only doing a half dose though or its waaaay too strong. Btw, I cut out dairy products and after 2 weeks I stopped having sinus/phlegm problems. (And I really love dairy too, but I was sick of feeling crummy all the time!) Plus, I CAN HEAR people now!
Love my neti pot. I was previously under my hubby's account, WM10K...now I gots my own and of course I had to subscribe to you. Love you, you gorgeous beast of a woman! Hello to Tiny Cat as well!
I have tried to flush my sinuses before with nasal spray, and it never comes out the other nostril! I don't see how this pot would make it different, but maybe it would?
I'm afraid my sinuses are deformed and that's why it won't go out the other nostril. lol
I don't think your typical "nasal spray" is designed to come back out? Is it just that stuff that sprays in a fine mist?? If that is what you are referring to, that stuff is just meant to help moisten your nasal passage, not drain back out. There's not enough product going in to drain back out really.
The neti pot delivers a LOT of water, so there is no where else for it to go but in one nostril & out the other! LOL ;p If you don't tilt your head forward it will run down your throat (yuck!) ;)
Yeah, I usually tilt the nasal spray to the side, and that way it sprays a stream. I spray massive amounts in and it just flows out the same nostril. I'm afraid if I buy that Neti Pot that it will just do the same thing. lol
Well, the neti pot spout is designed to fit snugly into one nostril, so nothing is ABLE to come back out that nostril... You basically have gravity forcing a full pot of water down & out the other nostril.
The only time it has not come out the other nostril for me is when i am SEVERELY congested. Then i usually just blow my nose a couple times & the water is able to find it's way out! ;p
Thankyou, even though some may wince at the nature of this mini tutorial, you have a lot of natural charisma and appeal. It's like listening to the friend I never met. Thanks.
I was just on you tube learning about this product. I really enjoyed your informative video. You seem very down to earth and I like your outlook! My mom recommended this to me. I currently have a sinus infection and have been clogged for days! I will be trying this! Thank You for your advice~!
I saw the neti pot on oprah a while ago and wanted to try it out. since you've had such spectacular results with it I think I'll have to go buy one. My sinuses have been driving me absolutely nuts lately, so maybe this is the cure I've been looking for.
Weird!!! Not at all!!! I use the squeeze bottle type.....I have the allergy/sinus curse!! Unfortunately for me the cleanser and antibiotics did not work so I had the sinus surgery 2 weeks ago. I use the saline rinse now to help with recovery. I am glad that you posted this video.....I highly recommend this cleaning method......it feels great!!!
Weird!!!! Not at all!!! I actually used the squeeze bottle type......I have the allergy/sinus disaster. Unfortunately for me....it and antibiotics did not work so I had the surgery two weeks ago. I use the saline rinse bottle now during recovery. I am glad to see you posted this video. I highly recommend this cleaning method......feels great!!!!!
wow ...how funny..i was just thinking today, "i think i have allergies cuz i always wake up with a stuffy nose and sneezing" then i come on here and watch ur video...im SO going to try this...thankkk youuuu....
OMG thanks... I went out today and got one after seeing ur video b/c i get dust allergies and get horrible congestion.. just used it today and already feel the difference... Thank you soooo much!!!
If you have a normal little tea pot and it fits snuggly inside your nose, then you should be fine ;p The neti pot has a thick spout so it forms a seal with the nostril, so you don't have water pouring all over your face. ;p But I am sure you can improvise & find something that will work for you!
You could probably use a baby bottle with a fat nipple & cut the tip of it off so the water flows out easily. Know what I mean?
I am sure there are all kinds of things you could make work for this.
Thank you so much for posting this. I was checking to see if you had any new makeup videos and found this instead - what amazing timing. My doctor suggested that I buy one, about three days ago. I think that I am doing something wrong, though, because you mentioned that it doesn't feel like you jumped in a pool and got water up your nose, and that it what it felt like to me the last time. I felt like I watered my brain, LOL! I'll try your suggestion below (45 degree thing), and see! THANKS!
Yeah, just try to bend forward more & look down at the drain. I think if your head is tipped back to far, it goes the wrong direction ;p hehe But everyone's sinus cavity is different I'm sure, so maybe not everyone can use it with out any issues, I don't know =)
Wow it's always the old school stuff thet work's. My Daughter Has really bad allergies and asthma. Hopefully she'll try it. My Mom's getting older so she's always complaining about her allergies. I have to get 2 now & demonstrate for them both. Do u know how much they go for? My Mom might go for it but my daughter is really stubborn LOl Hopefully she will get results & take to it. Thanks This is really great info. It's not weird to talk about. Were all human i hope:D lol
I think mine cost between $10 to $15. Not a bad price! You should be able to find them at most drug stores or if you have a Wegmanns or Whole Foods Grocery store, they probably carry them. And of course you can find them online, everywhere! ;p Amazon (dot)com has them.
Can you please do a review on Face Front cosmetics? It is gaining popularity and it seems really pigmented, I like your work and I trust your judgement.
I will try! I will check out their stuff & see if there's anything I like ;) I try to only buy stuff that I know I'll be using. But I will definitely see what they have!!
If it's going down your throat then you probably need to bend over more and tilt your head down more. If I raise my head up too much, it will go down my throat too. I stand at the sink & bend so that I'm looking directly down at the drain, then I tilt my head like 45 degrees (i don't know! LOL) You definitely need to lean forward to keep it going straight through the sinus cavity & away from the throat! ;p
Wow, you just saved my ass. I started getting a cold yesterday and I've been sneezing, blowing my nose, and breathing threw my mouth all day long. I'm so going to Walgreens now...
It works wonders for me!! Anytime i start feeling congested I use it & it clears my sinuses right out. If you're really sick, you might have to use it every 1-2 hours at first, but it should flush out all those nasties! ;p
Yeah, they really are nice! I tried the saline solution crap that you squeeze into your nose in a fine mist - YUCK! First off, they sometimes put weird chemicals in those, besides the plain old saline. And for me, they would leave a horrible after-taste at the back of my throat (since the sinuses & throat are all connected!) I hated that, so I kept looking for another natural alternative! This thing totally kicks ass!
did you get them at the same time, because i've had a cat for 2 years now and he's fine. but today, i brought home another kitten, similar to TinyCat. The older cat is afraid of and dislikes the kitten. did you have this problem?
All of mine came like 1-2 years apart. So, they NEVER got along well in the beginning. The original cat would be all pissed off & angry & trying to kick the new cat's ass - for a couple weeks ;p LOL Then the next thing you know they are all curled up together!
When Tiny Cat came, the other 2 hated her for a couple of months! Then they got more friendly. She torments them like crazy though, so I can understand them getting annoyed with her ;p
I've tried something similar to the squeeze bottle, and I personally don't like that. It is too forceful for my taste & kind of hurts my ears. But that is definitely another option for some people who aren't quite as sensitive! ;p
Wow - I've never seen one! I have many sinus issues and mucus congestion! I'm so excited that something actually works so well! Thank you soooooo much for the info! <333
in france (the city where i live don't know about the rest of the country) they sell salt water in spray cans that you just spray up your nose to cleanse. i guess it's the same concept as the neti pot. i've been using it for yrs and it does work!
I have one too! I saw it on Oprah, Dr.Oz was talking about it and demonstrated it. My mom first bought one and she loved it so I decided to try it! I have allergies and it seems to help! I thought it was weird at first! I am iffy about putting things in my nose or up my nose, but I gave in and it helps! It's not weird! Glad to hear you like yours too!
I LOVE mine!! My husband first used it and it took me a few months to finally use it, but I'm glad I did. I just didn't think I could take the water going through my sinuses. Once I realized you don't even feel it and I could breath through my mouth at the same time I'm really glad I tried it! I like doing it in the shower myself. Oprah swears by it, LOL.
I'm always trying to get my bf to try one (just cuz I love mine so much!)- but he's all weird about it LOL So he, of course, adamantly refuses to use anything that would run water through his sinuses! Heaven forbid!
It certainly should help flush out any mucus & garbage stuffing up your nose/sinuses!!
Hey, it never hurts to give it a try right?
I was a little skeptical myself, at first. But I was desperate & willing to try anything I could find (and I love that it's natural! I HATE medication!)
I noticed a HUGE difference right away. I was just like "OMG! Wow!" ;p haha
i do this all of the time! i love doing it...i use a little squirt bottle thingy i found in a drug store which has the same ingredients mixed in with water, and it's great! :O) i love your vids :O)
Oh cool! I tried some squirt bottle type thing & it seemed to cause too much pressure for me, made my ears hurt (of course that is partly due to me squeezing the thing i suppose.)
But that would be another great option for people to check out!
wow this is great! I do my ears kinda like this all the time with a bulb syringe! Thats alot better than using meds and Im also addicted to using vics vapor rub too so this will be another thing I will add to my sinus regime. Ty for your tips always seem to have good ones. Have a good weekend!
Really? What type of solution do you use for your ears?? And how does it help? Like, do you notice a difference in hearing, or how the ears feel inside, etc? Or is it more of just a cleansing thing to help get rid of ear wax & stuff?
oh well really I just use peroxide and warm water to keep them cleaned out and yes I can hear better and it gets out all the excess earwax which i tend to have a build up with alot. But thanks for showing this Im sure gonna try these pots.
I agree - i HATE taking medications. I always feel like they do more harm than good! You know, they alleviate 1 symptom,, yet cause 6 more completely different ones! Ugh! No thanks! I want to take care of myself in the most natural ways I can!!
I dont have sinus issues but my mom does maybe I will have to mention this to her. You crack me up that u reviewed this. It shows u want to help people.
Thanks ;p Yes, I recommend the Neti Pot to ANYONE i talk to who ever mentions anything about sinus problems ;p It made such a huge difference in my breathing, etc... so I have to tell people about it & hope they get the same relief as I did!
No to scare anyone by any means. This is a great product. I how ever have a problem with it feeling like it is burning my nose. Actually it's more of a reaction to diet than to external body piercings!
Try removing dairy products at the very least.
Certain foods are known mucous producers.
Nice try, but the piercings are staying in place. The dairy on the other hand I can do without.

But that would be another great option for people to check out!
thanks!

wow this is great!

Or is it more of just a cleansing thing to help get rid of ear wax & stuff?
thanks!

oh well really I just use peroxide and warm water to keep them cleaned out and yes I can hear better and it gets out all the excess earwax which i tend to have a build up with alot.

Thanks ;p Yes, I recommend the Neti Pot to ANYONE i talk to who ever mentions anything about sinus problems ;p It made such a huge difference in my breathing, etc... so I have to tell people about it & hope they get the same relief as I did!
