Hey glad there okay. My first cassette that was given to me by my dad in 1985 was a 1975 Gusto Records Golden Hits tape by George. Had alot of songs on it from the 50s from Starday and it had that Gonna come get you, Yearning, Why baby why, Color of the blues, Dont stop the music, Gonna come get my baby, Dont do this to me (which is a terrible tear jerker lol)
Glad again they are okay. Thanks for playing it. I have a whole closet full of albums and tapes of george. Jonathan kennison09@aol.com
Knife of Destiny, LOL. I think I've given up on getting 78s through ebay. Yoinks!! Packing peanuts!! God love 'em. I've got my breath held until the last one. Remind me never to buy anything from this person. Wow, you lucked out!! I love that somebody else notices things like larger and smaller logos. Wow what a great tune!!

Hi Raymond, WHEW!! I'm glad the 78's made it in one piece. My heart rate elevated as you were unboxing as I am a vinyl junkie too and have been in that position more times than I care to remember. Thanx for the great posts. I really enjoy them.
Beautiful Cobra! Some of those had a 2mil "compromise" stylus- in between the 1mil for LPs and 3mil for shellac 78s, but yours looks like it has a flipover- must be a pretty new model of CobraMatic...
I Feel Your Pain Raymond,More Than Once I'Ve Had Records Not Show Up,Or Come So Stupidly Packed,Its Not Even Funny,Even More Recently Had A 78 Rpm Copy Of Corky Jones a,k,a Buck Owens Hot Dog On Pep Come Broken,The Dumbass Sent It In An LP Mailer!!!!!!!!
It's not the worst packing job ever.. I use those packing peanuts too, but I always put the records together between 2 or 4 pieces of hard cardboard, and make sure when you shake it the records arent moving around in there.. they never break that way!
Awesome 78's Raymond! At least the seller put some kind of packing in the box. I've had them shipped to me loose in an oversized box, crammed in one on top of the other with no packing, sent in envelopes with no packing. One person even sent me 3 records literally stapled between two pieces of cardboard that used to be a box. Some folks just shouldn't sell records on ebay, but I've also found some great sellers. I'm glad they made it to you intact. The one you played sounds so very nice!
The DREADED PACKING PEANUTS! My least favorite packing substance. Don't you DARE ship those to me! Holding my breath to see if they are all intact! YAY! they are all ok! thank you for unboxing with us!
@RaymondTVinyl AND, you know what spike's doing come this afternoon? Nothing short of driving stateside (Buffalo, NY) and sending me NOT ONLY 2 more copies of those GM 78's, but 3 Artie Shaw Bluebird 78's to replace those "bitten" records I displayed in my recent 5 part video & an original 1936 Victor Scroll 78 of the yanked-off-the-shelf-within-3-months-of-its-release "Goodnight, My Love" by Benny Goodman with Ella Fitzgerald!
A true philanthropist among us shellac stackers, for sure. :)
Just be thankful that they arrived at all, though - YouTube user "spike6060", in his infinite generosity, sent off 2 hot Glenn Miller Bluebird 78's for me from Canada via "media" mail 5 weeks ago & they still haven't arrived. I fear that they're lost, but am lots more sorry for spike - we had a conversation awhile back about GM & I told him I was missing two GM 78's to complete a 27 year search. He so happened to have 'em & just sent 'em right off then & there.
@SwingMan1937 Oh Swingman...I hope they show up one day!! I still hold out hope that my missing Starday will appear on my porch. So sad to lose a record like that, that has come so far in time then to be lost in the mail!! :-(
Hey Raymond! that was some Crazy stuff! happy things are all good with the 78RPM's! i would give the Ebay guy bad feed back lol any ways always happy to hear King George Jones Sing! =)
@Turkeydoodlers I'm gonna catch hell for this...but, I use a very soapy (Dawn dishwashing liquid) rag. Wash and rinse then immediately dry starting with patting the label the drying the vinyl. Works beautifully. The Dawn helps remove the grease. I've yet to harm a label. Would never do this if the record was mint. Glad u enjoyed!
Ive had such bad experiences with 78's on Ebay. Ive bought album sets that arrived with only 3 of 4 records, two were broken, and one wasnt from the set! Its amazing. Glad your records survived the trip!
One of my fellow Youtubers from Denmarks had a bad Ebay experience recently. He won a vintage computer and it arrived DOA. The user didn't put any packing material in it and the seller refused to refund his money.

Wow! It's amazing those records arrived in good shape. It's not the worse packing job I've seen, but I wouldn't have packed them like that.
Are those 78's pressed on vinyl? or are they shellac? They looked like vinyl to me from what I could tell.
George Jones! Real country music!

@sideshowtink but hon, whatever else is one supposed to use to fill out the box that actually cushions whatever is in the middle of the box?

@MEGATRON9090 Thanks Megagron...I knew you would enjoy these! I have 5 George Starday 78's!! I'll leave good feedback. Karma you-know. :-)

@MEGATRON9090 That's very unfair, they arrived safe, he should get good feedback but I might mention the records weren't packed with much protection.

I did away from Ebay purchases due to bad experiences. However, I still do buy parts players, needles, tubes, caps, and etc off Ebay.
