It is perhaps the most physically and mentally arduous training in the world rivalling even that of the SAS. Among other tortures, recruits face a 'Hell Week' where they must run over 200 miles day and night with only 4 hours sleep the entire week.

Indeed some of the *top* marathon runners can achieve that sort of time. I can run a half marathon in just under 2 hours. But to elaborate, Hell Week isn't just a marathon. You run with all kit including rifle, dropping down to do what will end up being 1000's of press ups and other exercises by the end of the week, leopard crawling through mud, blah blah. More than half fail, and this is really only the beginning of training. No walking allowed. Honest.

Although you've already been given an answer already my sheer disgust for Morgan compells me to underscore what is really being said here. BUD/S is Special Forces training for Navy Seals. It is perhaps the most physically and mentally arduous training in the world rivalling even that of the SAS. Among other tortures, recruits face a 'Hell Week' where they must run over 200 miles day and night with only 4 hours sleep the entire week.

@billhicks8 A full Marathon is 26 miles, so your saying they do over 28 miles a day for a week totalling 200 miles with 4 hours sleep a night? A marathon can be done in just over two hours and these guys are taking 20 hours, so there not really running, more like a fast walk. Still impressive to keep it up for a week though :D

Indeed some of the *top* marathon runners can achieve that sort of time. I can run a half marathon in just under 2 hours. But to elaborate, Hell Week isn't just a marathon. You run with all kit including rifle, dropping down to do what will end up being 1000's of press ups and other exercises by the end of the week, leopard crawling through mud, blah blah. More than half fail, and this is really only the beginning of training. No walking allowed. Honest.
