2. Why does he say the problem is too much regulation even though unregulated securites are wiping us out?

3. Why is he blaming gov's deficits on the war even though they are really from medicare, medicaid, soc security and huge tax cuts? Defense fell from 67% to 19% of the budget from 1954 to 2005.

The massive layoffs are going to lead to a huge decline in federal gov revenues.

He wants a huge tax cut on top of the already huge Bush tax cuts and totally ignores budgetary concerns, even during a collapse.

He wants to cut gov't spending as well. He's focusing on the war budget because it's something we can really afford to get rid of. He also wants to reform medicare, medicaid, and social security. NTM he wants to get rid of beauracracies so that would cut gov't spending alot, too.

With more jobs available through tax cuts and more small businesses being able to compete against their corporate counterparts, the free market will be forced to be a little more honest.

Another good video but TIME's Person of the Year

isn't necessarily a good honor. It once went to Hitler and it almost went to Bin Laden after 9-11, so I don't know if I'd push for it unless TIME will view him favorably. Ron Paul's certainly established a cultural base, something that Lew Rockwell and Chuck Baldwin failed to do.

Ron Paul did do a lot of good in that he inspired you to take a strong interest in politics.

The conservative movement's vision for the future will probably come from moderates Republicans however. Look there.

He will not criticize problems with the old conservative paradigms to come up with greater, stronger ones.

For example, Republicans pursued large tax cuts rather than balanced budgets to limit gov but this created large deficits. He ignores tax cuts impact on deficits in articles.

No, true conservatives would not spend and create large deficits like the neo-cons do. It is the neo-cons who have taken over the Republican Party and portray themselves as Conservatives. It is people like Ron Paul the are the Clarion call for the GOP to return to is true conservative roots. The GOP has ignored this call. Tax cuts AND spending cuts result in smaller deficits and lead to a balanced budget. The way the Bush NEVER vetoed a spending bill AND spent more show he is not a conservative.

Milton Friedman wrote *The Tyranny of the Status Quo* that says we should use large tax cuts to limit gov growth because gov will always spend more than it receives.

This influenced the Republican Party and Libertarians for 20 years. Ron Paul will vote for any tax cut no matter how large it is and how large the deficit is because he does share these views.

There is a huge difference between *deficit hawks* and Libertarians. Mild tax cuts can limit gov more responsibly.

Why are some people so angry towards Congressman Ron Paul? I think we should cut his supporters some slack. Their only platform is the internet, seeing as the day to day news media only covers what's profitable. While the rest of America is hearing the "news" about Obama's new puppy, these folks are speaking out. I must say, I really admire the fight in these people. Ron Paul is a Historian about international Affairs. He corrected and educated all the presidential candidates during the debates! He wrote a book on Foreign Policy. He served in the Air Force. He has also studied the Economies of countries around the world. People know Obama based on the media. MSM barely talks about third party candidates.
