Clementi is unfortunately hugely underrated today, even though he was one of the greatest composers of the era. Beethoven was, by the way, a huge fan of Clementi and considered him one of the most important composers. Beethoven is known to always have a copy of a clementi sonata by his piano. he played his music frequently, and was in his own earlier sonatas heavily inspired by Clementi.
