This was a well put together advocacy piece. Indeed, it's amazing how few people understand anything about gay marriage, and even fewer are able to face their own fears. Why, for example, would anyone fear gay marriage when all they have to do is simply not marry a gay person. I have been in a civil partnership for nearly 8 years. It's legal in Germany, where my partner's from, and the rights are quite extensive. It's sad that this is such an American battle. Hold hands or hold guns!?! Wow.

I read the whole paper. Very nice. Although I think the specific reference to what's acceptable within the african american culture wasn't neccesary unless yu were to put in same statistics for all cultures..because Its not totally acceptable to behave in those ways within the culture. None the less, I agree with what yu said

Thanks. In my essay, I explored how ammendments limiting marriage to only 'man and woman' would affect transgender and intersex citizens. How would 'gender' be decided, since it can be physically altered, and genetic genders of intersex/hermaphroditic people may not reflect the gender that the parents chose to push an intersex child into.
