I'm no great fan of today's Fords (I find the styling rather ugly and very quick to date), but I have to admit that they are well-designed, well-engineered, generally pretty good cars, and are characterised especially by a feeling that real people have thought about how other real people will use them. This advert simply channels that thoughtfulness in another direction. Now, Ford, we just need the Focus and the Mondeo to go rear-wheel-drive!

The 2008+ Saloon Focus is about the only Focus that is actually the best looking one but its very rare. The front styling actually compliments the shape of the saloon very well unlike the Hatchback versions. Its not the front thats ugly on the new 2008+ models (2005-2007 style fronts were grotesque!) its the BACK! Ford still havn't sorted that random, flat 30 degree downward slope with those ugly high level lights on it. Its as bad as what Renault did with the 2003 Megane! Its like WTF!?

Yeah, they put it together first in a factory assembly line full of drunken monkeys. Then it went to a showroom, Then it was Sold to some mug, then it shortly fell apart afterwards, so they made musical instruments out of it. Not a lot else you can do with a busted Ford really. Not worth repairing it as it will break down or fall to bits again. X'-D

I'm quite sure the piece is 'Danse macabre' written by French composer Camille Saint-Saëns, first performed in 1872. I recognised it, as it is the same piece that is used for the open titles of Jonathan Creek.

Awesome, but I'm slightly skeptical. The lead instrument was clearly a violin (not the cello shown based on range and timbre), yet I never saw anything vaguely violin-like. Any explainations? I looked over and over the full-group shots and couldn't see anything that might be even close and as a violinist I can tell the difference in sound between it and cello.

It's a nice thought, but the instruments are NOT real. I can tell at least of 5 which cannot be played like that: Any string intrument (with the wiper blade as a bow); the harp which does not have the color-coded strings and can't stand, and I noticed that several video clips are re-used. Also some fingering does not match the sound.

I adore the music on this, I also think the instruments are a work of art. But do you guys REALLY think that the music was MADE from these instruments? It's certainly not played by the instruments where this is recorded, look at how their fingers move in comparrison to the tune.

As much as I hate the idea of supporting an add campaign for a planetary giant... I'm enthralled by this. *Especially* by the incredibly beautiful pictures of the instruments I see in papers, but can't seem to find on the web. Some of these, like the double bass, are true pieces of art (I first thought they were digitally generated, because of their beauty...)
