Very cool to hear how the music she has grown up and played colors how she plays along with this very familiar song. I hope y'all do get to play more together.
Beautiful musically, and so very moving. This is probably the closest anything can come to being my favorite song, consistently (it's also the first I learned on the mandolin). Best of luck to Shen Qi...
@SirCoughsalot I bought my backpacker when I used to go canoe camping. It was very easy (it lived up to its name). I don't use it a whole lot nowadays but I still like it.
I wish I could see the erhu better--that instrument looks like an ultra-anorexic violin, but she is getting such incredibly nice sound out of that wee bit of wood!
Thanks so much for yet another great glimpse into the world of musical possibility....
Comforting, warm and saturated with sonic beauty, this performance will certainly go down in the annals of You Tube history as the defining example of two musicians pooling their respective talents and arriving at an apex of quintessential exquisiteness.
Thank you for the post.

What a wonderful collaboration! You sound pretty good on the erhu yourself, but it's great to hear it played by an expert.

Lew, that is an outstanding video. Shen Qi makes that erhu sing, you can almost hear words in the music. I wish her well in this new venture. ...Bill
