Clothanidin, an insecticide, is absorbed by plants and then released in pollen and nectar to kill pests. It is banned in its country of oroigin, Germany, where some 330 million bees dies abruptuly after its use (96% of deaths from direct contact with clothanidin). A leaked EPA document has shown the EPA ignored data which showed it was dangerous for bees! USA began using it in 2003 and it is stil legal in 2011!
