  • This was a Republica, Bakers Broad st B'ham, Anthem before gatecrasher. Scott Bond, Tall Paul, Tony de Vit & Andy Cleaton were the residents 1996, '97 & 98 Before Gatecrasher was born! REPUBLICA became Gatecrasher! Peace.

  • @DirtyHarry69a Gatecrasher was at The Republic by 1996, they brought the club after it closed down losing Musiquarium. Before that it had a brief spell at the Adelphi in Attercliffe (Sheffield) before that I think it was in Birmingham for a bit.

Republicas @ Bakers was nearer 1993 time, Gate crasher was pretty much a one off night, and with so many nights around Birmingham Scott moved the night to Sheffield to become a regular thing

  • @kpsuk Oh ok man, cheers for that. I started going to bakers in '97 & i think Republica finished in 2000 ish. Maybe 1999. Before '97 i was not old enough lol Well still wasn't old enough in 97 but at least i had fake id then!! lol

  • @DirtyHarry69a Cool!

I was lucky enough to move to Sheffield in 96, lived just 10min walk from The Republic (GC's home) for 3 years, right in the middle of the 96-00 trace era!

My first true nightclub experience (what a place to break your duck!). Basically I think Republica & GC were similar, Scott just wanted his own night. I think a lot got confused because the club GC brought called 'The Republic' so people thought it was the same night. But yeah GC was born in Bham but lived in Sheffield.

  • epic tune, this is the real not going home, fuck faithless!!!!
