I think this has less to do with religion and more to do with poverty. I've seen this in Mexico as well and they are catholic. The one thing they had in common was poverty. Mut'ah is a temporary marriage, could last 15 minutes, the man have to pay, say few ritual words and is done, he'll screw her and then divorce... sounds like prostitution? If a woman in Iran remarries, her children get taken from her. She loses rights over her own children to her ex husband. Women depend on their husband to support them. Which Iranian man- especially a guy who is secretly and rapidly trying to do his business-would let the camera crew join him in his car with a prostitute he just picked up and let the camera crew come into his house?
