@swill3869 en.wikipedia. org/wiki/Owl - "Although owls have binocular vision, their large eyes are fixed in their sockets — as are those of other birds — so they must turn their entire head to change views. Owls can rotate their heads and necks as much as 270 degrees in either direction." Why do you say they have no eye sockets? :) (Though I didn't find the article explain the mechanism of such rotation, but I think it is based on their joints, not eye sockets.)
@apelsinuke i dont know i guess i forgot half of what i read it was ages ago..thanks for the information ..i love animals no matter how dangerous some can be theyre such fascinating creatures and i hope one day i get to work in a zoo,so getting information like yours(correct ones):)are both helpful and fascinating .until about a year ago i was volunteering in a petting zoo with many animals i still go there sometimes on my own and run the place for a day but its fun getting to know them person
@swill3869 thank you too for your comment, actually if it wasn't for your post I wouldn't have checked on that at all :) I love animals too, we are all sharing this planet as a home, and it is great to see such diversity of life.

To All Owl Lovers, I recommend the book series Guardians of Ga'Hoole. It's a fiction series about owls, but they are very intelligent, like humans, but still sticks to an owl-ish feeling. Great series that i really enjoyed reading. There is also going to be a movie soon called Legend of the Guardians.
Its a good book and how I learned more about owls. Without them I'd never know about all these owl including burrowing owls. Not everyone can sit and watch a documentary for an hour.
Also at least Diaphos wasn't pointing a story about how wise they are or how they're a sign of evil or death. I
I'm in the owl section of youtube again :/ and I love it xD

@Diaphos There's enough fictional owls and enough people who know nothing about them but think they're "cute".
I'd rather pay $12 to go see a documentary about owls in a theater but nobody likes to see the true version of anything.
