  • Please help me with my school project about the Ireland's greatest:

    surveymonkey com /s/B5YZFDP

  • I feel sorry for the three panelists, having to accept a gobshite like Tubridy as moderator. And McWiliams is wrong about Robnson being the only internationalist, Connolly was working to improve the lot of all American workers, whlst the IRB were running around cadging money for arms.

  • bonos head after this must be ready to implode

  • Also, it sickens me to see an Anti-Republican tan like Michael McDowell representing a true Irish Republican like Michael Collins. Sickening.

  • shud ov been collins

  • Bono does pay taxes. You idiotic children have to stop listening to everything you hear in the paper! Besides, he's a man who uses his Rock-star reputation for good. He sets a good example for young generations by raising money for charity and making them aware of the stupid poverty in the world, while other celebrities are out there sleeping with prostitutes, dealing drugs and getting arrested. Bono did deserve to win as much as the other 4 candidates, so stop saying he didn't.

  • Bono doesn't pay tax in Ireland. U2 moved their taxes to Holland.

  • Dave Fanning...You Fucking Gobshite..Bono my hole !

  • i agree hes a tosser

    @ruairi52

  • Although I love Bono's music I don't think he deserves to be voted Ireland's greatest person. He may have done alot for charities in 3rd world countries but what has he done for Ireland?? Not alot compared to Michael Collins. Only for Collins Ireland wouldn't be the country it is today. Bono should first use his fame and fortune to help get Ireland out of the hole it's in then go and help these 3rd world countries. Charity begins at home

  • @DJEMMEY25 Each individual on the list have altered Ireland in some way or another either Musically Politically or spiritually. You can not say that Ireland wouldn't the country it is today without Collins what about the influential individuals who went before him, which probably shaped Irish history and Collins personality. Life and the world is not made up of individuals that make an impact but a sum of individuals.

  • I was disappointed that they only done 40 since other countries all have 100 or some of them have 200 people in their list. However, after I saw Stephen Gately in the top ten and some of the other ludacris people in the top 40 I thought it was best that they just left it at 40 and didnt embarrass us all further.

  • I think Collins will win, but the original 40 was laughable how in gods fucking name did stephen gately, ronan keating, daniel o'donnell and louis walsh of all people get on this list ahead of Michael Davitt, Robert Boyle, Dan Breen, William Rowan Hamilton, Patrick Sarsfield, Robert Emmett, James Stephens, Ernie O'Malley, Ernest Walton, John and Sean MacBride, George Best, William Brown, John Barry. It's a shambolic attempt at getting our 40 best but i expect nothing less from RTE

  • its between collins and connelly

  • James Connolly obviously followed very closely by by Micheal collins

  • fuck bono his lifes outside the country so he dusnt have to pay tax . wot a wanker

  • @MrDEANOSCOOLVIDS he lives in the south side he just moved his assets away so that fucker biffo wouldnt spend it,yer a jealous fucker he done more for the country then you and has payed more tax that you or your children will ever have to pay

  • Bono's an idiot.
