  • C est juste magnique.

  • Utter genius. Mediocre LP by his standards but this is a thing of wonder.

  • 11276

  • This is a very "glorious" video. =p

  • This video went viral on Barbados

  • For the first two minutes, I thought, 'well his son's better than him.'

But after that, i was like, 'wooo this man can prove whose blood Jeff had received.'

  • i love this song

  • @dbenx so do I...hence my screen name

  • I was just to young & hard!!!!!!!!

I think we were all there @ one time or another

A music room fav in Vancouver early 70's

  • an anthem of sorts in the mid-late SF '70s..

  • @charvesa i am an aussie from down under love ya music keep it up DondaDon

  • The most underrated singer of his time...drugs and the 60s-70s killed him before it was his time to go...what ba waste,,this song and the whole album Greetings From LA are classics.

    peace and dolphins Tim

  • Brilliant tune. One of John Lydon's faves.

  • @ZLUGGO john lydon?

  • @andrew19vato

    A k a Johnny Rotten.

  • @ZLUGGO nah I know who john lydon is lol im just saying that im suprised that this would be his favourite song

  • @andrew19vato

Ok...Well, there was a radio show called "Johnny Rotten, the punk and his music". It was broadcasted on BBC 1 in 1977. Lydon played some of his fave records. Most of them were not punk records. 99% in fact.

Captain Beefheart, Bowie, Gary Glitter, loads of reggae, The Creation etc. Google for it.

  • Tim Buckley = gods masterpiece.

  • he'd been married four times when i met him (i was 15, wearing lace and jade). read his palm, cutely renegade.

  • Can never get enough of him! This is the song that made it so ...

  • um so very very long ago - saw Bette Midler/Monte Python - I remember a side street in the West end somewhere - vague on the outside colour being white - whatever.. i was lucky to have seen him regardless!

  • Great post, one of my favourite albums!

  • Plain & Simple, one of the most under-rated song in pop music history!

    A master piece!

  • Saw Tim in Vancouver - still remember this song soo long ago - was soooo in love this him and his songs!

sad so sad we lost him

  • @yummerful I'm from Vancouver, where in vancouver did you see him?

  • BAD ASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! REAL...

  • The greatest and sexiest album ..ever made....pure porn shit ass ..rock n roll...lotsof love lennydylan....ooo i'm going to get a reputation...staeady dildol...you already have a reputation....o

  • @lennydylan lol so true

  • Cassius brought me here

  • Many years ago this song was my intro to Tim and I immediately went out to get this album. My journey of discovery on youtube is neverending. There is so much material by him.

    Thank you!

  • i think im in love with this song. i have only just discovered this album , and wow what a album straight in the top ten for me.

  • @williammelvin if you THINK you're in love with this song? then It is a love that will surely grow! (note my screen name)

  • J'adore cette chanson...vraiment bonne.

  • Just found out about this, FANTASTICCC ... Which album should i start with??

  • @Lafikhandro If zou mean you just found out about Tim buckley, try the album 'good-bye and hello'. Beautiful music and amazing lyrics. I think it's a really strong album. One of my favorites...

  • Definitely one of my desert island albums. "We had those bed springs squeaking all night long". "Now I love me...I love a black woman". "Get on top of me, woman. Get on top, let me breath."

  • @donaldnewmanmedone what track are those lyrics from ?

  • @williammelvin "Get On Top", "Move With Me", and, actually, I think "Get On Top" again. Every song on that LP is a winner, though. You really can't go wrong listening to the entire thing. Enjoy! Respect from Michigan. Power to the Peaceful.

  • @donaldnewmanmedone ahh another mittenlander..and with excellent taste in music!

  • i love this song. so much soul.

  • Great song!

  • "Had to try to make love feel new again." Brilliant.

  • love love this song - his voice is magical !

  • with Tim Buckley, i never felt obligated to take him seriously. if he was angry or offensive, it never stuck on me, it's just who he was. he could sing any song to me, and i knew it was real for him. but i knew he never put anything on me, and needed me. i never knew him in person and never met him, but ever since i found his music, i've felt needed by him, probably because i need to be needed by someone like him.

  • @mlestoll -Profound statement. I remember my sister buying this album when it came out. I was hooked with "I went down to the meat rack tavern and find myself a big ol healthy girl", always been one of my favs. Very tragic that he died @ age 28 and his son Jeff @ a 30.

BTW, a forum is a better place for politics.

  • @NurseRatcheted so you're gonna reply to my 'moving' statement, recall a fond memory and your own emotional input, then turn around and tell me that i should have put this comment somewhere else? if it were somewhere else, you wouldn't have known about it to reply to it as you just did. i just find it odd.

  • @mlestoll interesting lolll

  • Wonderful song, beautiful lyrics and yes the voice .........sensational :)

Hey guys dont mix politics with music like this.. Try to let it all go with the music !

  • @ atomogamo If a fiddler played you a song, my love And if I gave you a wheel Would you spin for my heart and loneliness Would you spin for my love If I gave up all of my pride for you And only loved you for now Would you hide my fears and never say Tomorrow I must go Everywhere there's rain my love Everywhere there's fear If you tell me a lie I'll cry for you Tell me of sin.
  • Tim Buckley Phantasmagoria In Two Lyrics Send "Phantasmagoria In Two" Ringtone to your Cell Translation in progress. Please wait... If a fiddler played you a song, my love And if I gave you a wheel Would you spin for my heart and loneliness Would you spin for my love If I gave up all of my pride for you And only loved you for now Would you hide my fears and never say Tomorrow I must go Everywhere there's rain my love Everywhere there's fear If you tell me a lie I'll cry for you Tell me of sin.
  • I'm sorry to say that Greetings from LA comes second to Jeff Buckley - Grace. Still what an incredible album that I listen to all the time.

  • I've been going back to this one song for the last 30 years and each time I can't help but be godsmacked by its sheer majesty. No one sings like that anymore. He breaks my heart every time.

  • Have this on Vinyl. OH MAYN! But, both players are broken...sorta. =( Out of my collection so far this has stood out. The album that is.

  • @jerkythesandpiper I also have this Vinyl!! I use to listen to it so many times!

  • The same bankers are robbing us all, all NATO countries anyways. So when they try to take the last coin of worth...we still have this. This is life and no one can ever take it away!

  • thanks for the post, greetings for Greece (oh yes...we are going bankrupt and we get Germany`s money to be saved!!!)...LOL

  • @thanapsis The whole world is going bankrupt

  • @Circuit7Active I think this is the #1 comeback line I ever heard, good stuff...

  • @Circuit7Active

chance your money in gold. is the rest, you can take for your own live.

  • @Circuit7Active Do you know Paranoid the rock club back in 80tees?

  • @Circuit7Active you couldn't be more right

  • @Circuit7Active money is the root of most evil

  • @thanapsis Germany has been taking our money all these years, making us buy their weapon for the arms race they created in our neighbourhood... but that's allright... Turkey is also weaking up... and Merkel tha parei ta arhidia mou kai auti...

  • @ATOMOGAMO -it takes two to tango! Your previous Government smuggled your country into the EU with fake figures. Now the truth is on the table and everybody is feeling the itch!.. tha parei ta arhidia mou kai auti... sounds like Teflon Merkel's been called the right name, though! But don't forget,German tax payers/ordinary people in the street are paying for your sins & the lies of your Government! Reject the weapons, get it together or go bloody bankrupt! No Greek Gods can help you here! Ahoy!

  • @PyePye7 Greece has been in the EU since the 70's ... you mean in the Euro currency... No i do not agree that the numbers were wrong or falsified then.. even if they were the EU had checked them right?? Anyways, i hope it will strengthen the EU in total... now the bankrupncy issue is the worst solution ... even for the average German citizen that you are reffering to... Cheers from the US

  • kaban!

  • @thanapsis Πες τα πατρίδα!

  • @thanapsis and we germans get some of your lovely islands in exchange for that, LOL... on which one do you live? We'll take that one first ;-)

  • @4dagi0 i live in Thessaloniki, sorry it is not an island....do not demonstrate your bullshits here....you are exposed...and yes you will give back the money you have stolen not from Greece bur from the humanity...get lost faggot

  • @thanapsis But that doesn't give Germany the right to bash southern countries for no reason.

You have the sympathy of Portugal.

  • @thanapsis I know kai, but, hmm. What is it? I studied koine Greek, is this modern?

  • @thanapsis Du mich auch, Lügenbaron. Geh mal arbeiten :)

    (now the English version)

Fuck you, Munchhausen, go an get some work :)

  • @DerWahreMalle I will not reply to your bullshits, firstly because i am being bored to reply to you and secondly i let all the others reading here your comments and insults judge you

  • @thanapsis I said it before: Go to work and shut up!

  • @thanapsis And not just Germany's money its Europe's money.

  • @thanapsis

Boy are they right, hating us since WWII (we had to fight them, cause of the stupid Italians, Italian Soldiers, the worst Army ever to grace this earth, we had to help them, Greeks per se were not against us, stupid Italians made the Greeks to hate us, had to help out, Blitzkrieg, Greeks hated us even more) Bottom Line never trust an Italian.

  • MsTrinaa, most Americans as I have observed(you can, too!) rely on the 'familiar' for entertainment, thus the very dirivative nature and glacially slow growth in American popular musical norms.

Disclaimer; I am American and RELISH the unfamiliar, the new, the different IF it's GOOD MUSICIANSHIP(rules out ALL hip-hop).

Buckley is ONE OF A KIND, and I have several of his vinyl lp's from the era.

I enjoyed your comparisions and open thinking. Kudos.

  • T im Buckley .........i love you ....

  • He sounds a bit like Jim Morrison in parts of this song I think. Mostly at the beginning.

  • @Andybbe not at all. why do you need to compare anything here? morrison was morrison, buckley was buckley, completely different styles, stage personas etc. oh, perhaps the doors is the only band of the '60s/'70s you know...

  • Jerry Kinsey and Lyle Johnson(worked for warner bros record whse in Phx.Az) brought this LP home summer of 1974....Jerry's brother was Toad Hall of KDKB fm fame Gary Kinsey...Toad played this album over the air ...Phoenix was alive with Tim Buckley music back then......Thanks for the memories.

  • tim and his son jeff are great singers..they've gone so soon. a great loss but their music lives on..

  • J'adore cette chanson que j,ai entendue dans le film "toute la beauté du monde"..et par le fait même j'ai connu Tim Buckley qui est malheureusement mort trop jeune...

  • The 5 best Albums I have in my collection are

    1. Jeff Buckley - Grace.

    2. Tim Buckley - Greatings from L.A.

    3. MGMT - Oracular Spectacular,

    4. Amy Winehouse - Back to Black,

    5. Nirvana - In Utero,

  • I saw Tim Buckley in 1974. Got some good close up photos. Love love love him and his son. What a terrible loss, they are both gone now. Love you both.

    Maureen

  • he really uses his vocal range on this track doesnt he? hahaa great unique song

  • From Greece, many thanks for this posting. Fantastic artist. Thanks again and again

  • It's not just that Tim Buckley had an excellent voice, its how he used it. He took his voice to weird places in creative ways most singers wouldn't think to. There's humor and all kinds of emotions in it. The way he sings things often emotes more than the words he's actually saying. Really good song, lots of pathos to it-- especially in his vocal performance. I love this.

  • @sethyeah so true. he explored and experimented with his voice, so much. few singers since him have tried to do the same, and in my opinion, the only to come close and even surpass him was his son, Jeff. why more singers aren't trying to do more things with their voices is beyond me. as a singer, tim and jeff are two of my biggest inspirations, and i try everyday to achieve the range and boldness and experimentation that they had. just stunning, this man is.

  • I listen to the vinyl version all the time. His voice is haunted and tear-jacking at an incredible level. What a furious genius...

  • I have had this album on my record player since the 70's. This is my favorite F-ck ME album of all time. I hope it inspires you.
