  • i know the lyrics!! :D

  • Amazing song!

  • Its the 1960's and those of us who "experienced it" were sold snake medicine from some fraudulent snake men in Madison Ave. leisure suits. Each generation mis-uses their strong points and lose because of it.Most hippies squeezed their source of frr $ until the $ died & went on looking for a new donor.Today's strong digital world is squuezing spirituality& heart-felt emotions to death.

  • Oh come on. I mean, I love Bob as much as the next guy, but a classic? I guess maybe..... If you want to hear Bob spin a yarn, it's there with Black D. Bay or John Wesley Harding or Highway 61.

  • Totally impressive Dylan song one of his alltime classics!

  • Pretty much the second best song Dylan wrote

  • An entire John Ford western in a nine minute song!

  • what a delicious song,, only bobby could do this ..exquisite!!!!!!!!!

  • ah. grew up with this, heard it at least 5,000X and it's still awesome(;

  • Kind of a sad commentary...of our society...we think...American Idol...is good music...too sad

  • Thank you for this! I have heard it since it was relaesed and still don't quite get the story...My good friend is his lead guitarist...Bostonrockgrrl

  • why are there a bunch of random Frank Zappa pictures?

  • cos he is a cool bloke

  • @majorsnag your such a lil fukkin mutherfuckin cock sucken fagget ass bitch juz fukken watch bitch i betyou cant get any pusy!!!!!

  • @luvlybonesz

haha...wots up have you had a knock back, or are those bones not as lovly as you state

    oh yeah n' fuck off

  • Whenever I hear Dylan....my faith in music is restored....too bad about American Idol...or any dance rap crap.....we have become jaded and moronic.....

  • well, we personally havn't

  • My journalism teacher in my junior year of high school introduced me to Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, and arlo Gutherie in 1966.

I thank God for the music that inspired us to risk everything in late 60s and 70s. When I hear these lyrics, I see hundreds of thousands of young Americans who wanted to be authenic and make a difference with their brief time on earth.

  • #____# .L.o.v.e it .

  • love this - it starts and you feel it has always been playing.........like Polygon Window's Quino Phec

  • Not the best vocalist of all time.....Dylan is in the top 3 of all time post 1950's singer-songwriters.....and all 3 change places depending on the mood you are in.......

    The other 2 are:

    Lennon-McCartney

    Jagger-Richards

  • Leonard Cohen, Bod Dylan, John Lennon

  • well,DHAND2112...you have the top 3 right,Dylan,Mcartney & Lennon...Jagger & Richards do not even come close, com'on there earliest stuff was ripped off from old blues men like Robert Johnson..I doubt Jagger ever came up with anything on his own..and certainly Richards did not...and ABSOLUTELY they never came up with (stole/paid for)anything relevent other then sympathy for the devil

  • cmon he has got to be one of if nt the best singer of alll time his music is just outstanding

    ***BOB RULES!! FOREVER!!!***

  • Thanks Holmes..... Sometimes the simple is best!!!! :-P

  • it is off of Blood on The Tracks

  • what album is this one off please?

  • blood on the tracks

  • ***BOB RULES!! FOREVER!!!***

  • George Starostin (who runs the Only Solitaire site with all the music reviews) thinks this song gets boring. I think different.

I think every verse is a great buildup to Dylan's simply awesome singing of "the Jack of hearts"

  • amazing story teller...amazing story.

  • I recall reading somewhere that Dylan actually cut like 13 original verses in order to bring this whale in weighing under 9:00 minutes. This never released on a 45 did it? Seems like it may fill half the available recording space on an old vinyl LP? Still I am shocked, shocked that Dylan always struck me as an artist who would never sell out and succumb to trimming a masterpiece :)

I love this tune and Dylan's work spans most of all known identifiable emotions!

  • george sucks to much dic to this song.

  • Ken Kesey Sailor Song. Kellys Heroes. and the saragosa manuscript. Greatful Dead battle gear.lol

  • I love Dylan. As always Mick you did a wonderful job! Thanks.
