  • I like ur hair ladies. Cipriana do u think u would ever straighten ur hair in the future?

  • @bhoody87 I would never straighten my hair but I may use a a curling iron on level 1 and lightly put heat on my hair but I don't see that happening anytime soon since I am on a no heat regimen. Has been over two years since I have used heat :)

  • Question for Sebrana ( not sure of the spelling): Correct me if i am wrong so you wash your hair once a month with only a conditioner?

  • @globusine Cipriana :) Yes you are correct!

  • I don't use any products except olive virgin oil mixed in my shampoo every 2 months (when i wash my hair). and rubbing my fingers thru my scalp daily. Our scalp produces it's own oil and that's all you need :)

I think all you say is down RIGHT! thanx for doing this!

  • @iyouwetubeit You’re welcome and glad you have found a regimen that works. Definitely a good place to be :) Yes, our scalp does produce its own natural oils but it does depend on the person and how much the body secretes natural oils. So some individuals do not need additional help in the natural oil department whereas others this may not be the case. That is the amazement of natural hair so many unique regimens that are successful for every individual! :D

  • Can I just mix coconut, olive, jojoba, and rosemary oil? Will one oil make the other less effective?

  • @Zajalicious These are the exact ingredients in my Love Potion #9 and no, it does not deplete the effectiveness of the oils.

  • I just wanted to ask: what do you think of tea tree oil? I heard it has anti-fungal and anti-microbial properties as well so I was wondering if it's something you've used and would recommend?

  • @Dooptasticness Lol, we actually are posting a new video tomorrow we shot last week, where we talk about Tea Tree so stay tuned :D

  • your hilarious and i just found you guys today

  • @highschoolnewchick Lol, so glad you found us :D

  • Very informative. Glad to see you guys again!

  • @Crisszilla Thank you and for watching :D

  • ***Question*** Cip - do u not seal all of your hair from your roots to your ends? Or do u just seal only your ends? If u seal only your ends, why do u not seal from your roots down to your ends?? Enquiring minds wud love to know!!!

  • @maximuslyricus Well this video was specifically addressing our sealing ends routine but no, this same routine is done at the most every 2 weeks for my hair as a whole :)

  • Thanks for posting !!!!

  • @sonicscreamingblue My pleasure :)

  • I only use natural products for moisturizing my hair. I plan on using natural shampoos and conditioners with alot of natural for my hair , in the near future....when my money isn't looking funny. I'm a college student, so I'm usually tired from all that studying , and now I'm about to start working. I didn't care to much for wearing my hair protective styles, but now they are my best friends. lol So now I can squeeze those smidget minutes of sleep

  • @loveshinae Lol, well I still use VO5 Tea Therapy but check online where you can find deals on all-natural conditioners and shampoos. Updo protective styles have been my savior especially with time management so I hear you :)

  • Hi! I'm 17 years old and I believe I have 4b hair, but I'm not sure. Regardless, my hair gets extremely dry. I just wanted to thank you for how informative your video was. I currently have individuals in my hair. Braids have always helped my hair grow out quicker. I just wanted to know how exactly do you seal your ends?

  • @Virgo8270 Hey :) Just checkout episode 8 part 1 and I discuss exactly how I discuss my sealing ends routine.

  • great info!

  • @TheNaprika Thank you :)

  • I just swore off relaxer 8 months ago; geez, do I love You Tube! I just discovered you two tonight, you are COMEDY! And also you provide a lot of good information so now I'm a subscriber!

  • @MariCruzdePanama Hahahaha that is a compliment, we love to set the mood for laughter! Thank you so much. Really glad you discovered us and thank you for subscribing <3

  • I'm just discovering yous guys videos for the 1st time today... And yous are great!!! Very informative. I've been natural for 2 and 1/2 years, transitioning the 1st year... No big chop for me.. LOL... But anywayz, I myself use natural oils on my 3c hair (which I actually started doing prior to becoming natural) but detangle on wet hair, which is easier.. So I can relate to the both of yous. Love what yous guys are doing. Keep up the good work and stay beautiful.. :-)

  • @mitsou29 Glad you found us!!! Thank you so much for the love and looking forward to sharing so much more that will make your transition period easier! Thank you again <3

  • Great video! I have been transitioning from chemically relax hair to natural hair. My last hair relaxer was 6 months ago. Your videos are very helpful. I tried to finger detangle but not sure if I'm doing it right. Will you have a tutorial on finger detangling?

  • @LaLinda2u Thank you, so glad we can help :) Yes we will have finger detangling tutorials coming soon! :)

  • Ladies, have you had a chance to look into how to ensure that you are purchasing real extra virgin olive oil? Google olive oil scandal.

My dad was the one who told me about how cheap olive oil is often hazlenut oil, but it's not mentioned on the labels in the US.

  • @honeybdream Definitely will look into this. Thank you for sharing :)

  • I love how you ladies keep it real! Thank you for the great information. I've been using these natural products but largely lucked into them before I became educated. I've been trying to use nothing but organics for the past year and really love the results. All great advice!

  • @Paintedmyst75 Thank you so much! Real is the best way to be!!! You’re welcome and really our pleasure. Definitely can relate on the beneficial results of natural products. So glad you are finding products that work. Thank you again :)

  • I need help finding my hair type. I have wavy and curly hair, mostly curly. My curls are more on the looser side. When I wet my hair, it gets super curly. The longer my hair grow it gets wavy. Its really dry. My hairs in the back are super fine and soft, while my hairs towards the front are thicker and equally dry. It takes my hair about 1-2 days to dry naturally. I think I have 3b-3c hair type but I am not sure. My hair is crazy :( plz help. I have African/Native American in me, if that helps.

  • @YurrahAlHadi The best advice we can offer is to view the many other beautiful naturals on youtube which can be very helpful in deciding :)

  • Your hair is beautiful can you do a tutorial on that updo

  • @TheCrazyMyMy Thank you so much and yes! We actually just posted a new episode where this hairstyle and others are featured for you to select and decide which style will be my next hairstyle tutorial.

  • I'm using DOO GRO Stimulating Growth Oil on my scalp and the first ingredient says "Mineral Oil"..Should I stop using it???..I'm worried that I'm hurting and not helping my hair now..

  • @cafeconlechegrl We just offer the facts but never would strong arm someone into not using mineral oil products but like anything in life there are exceptions but mineral does clog the pores of the scalp which over time can be very damaging.

  • My hair started grows a bit faster when I use sulfur8...that has minral oil in it? When is there an exception :) Just a question becasue I have only used sulfur 8 a week and I see fast growth.

  • @lit26 Well there might be other factors that are attributing to your fast growth. We just offer the facts but never would strong arm someone into not using mineral oil products but like anything in life there are exceptions but mineral does clog the pores of the scalp which over time can be very damaging.

  • @SecretPlaceDweller91 Thank you so much and our pleasure! Let us know the outcome ;)

  • @sunshinelovee18 Thank you so much, I will mos def do a twist tutorial! :) -Nikisha

  • were there sirens going off at some point in the video??

  • @lebriae Hmmm perhaps, didn't really notice.

  • Could you guys show your wash regimens? pretty please with a cherry on top :-)

  • @kittywittykatt Hello. Yes soon :DDD

  • Great video & very informative!

  • @citygirl4stl Thank you so much :DDD

  • I recently started making my own oil mix for my hair to battle dryness. After much experimentation, I've found that my hair loves the combination of monoi oil, jojoba oil, castor oil, avocado oil, and lavender essential oil. Since I've been using that mix, my scalp itch much less, my hair retains more moisture, and I can go longer without shampooing my hair. Castor oil and avocado oil is the absolute best for super-dry hair. I hope this helps some other natural lady.

  • @foxyrou Hey lovely foxyrou. Your combination sounds amazing and I'm sure someone will try this! :D <3

  • I love you all's channel :). Off topic: are you from Pittsburgh?

  • @FearfullyMade1976 Thank you and no we are not from Pittsburgh :)))

  • so educated and articulate...I love it.

  • @Stardae Thank you ;DDD

  • Hey guys. I finally decided to no longer put heat on my hair and finally start taking care of it....but Im completly new to this and it would be awsome if you could help me out with natural hairstyles for any length. I have shoulder length hair

  • @sandibeachez96 Hey :D. Sounds like a great plan! I'm sure your hair will change for the better with the elimination of heat and healthy haircare practices! Yes, we are beginning to showcase hair tutorials now and will include some styles for medium length hair.

  • ** Make sure that the extra virgin olive oil is certified.

The farm name should be stated & made in Italy. There are tons of articles about it sometimes being fake.

    Google: olive oil scandal.

  • Great video and information as always! After viewing one of your previous videos, I ran to Trader Joe's to purchase the olive oil spay. Love it! Do you ever use just the Coconut oil without the mixture of other oils in your hair? If so, how often?

  • @ReniiNaturalistaDiva Thank you :DDD Yes that olive oil in a can is magic, lol! Well I tried coconut oil by itself on my hair but it has a very dry effect on my strands so this is one of the reasons why I mix my coconut oil, In Episode 1 I talk a bit about this :)

  • I've been natural for almost a year and i Had no idea (at all ) that sealing my ends was that important . Now I Know I should care more about them ! I wish I had heard that before, but it's never to late so THANK YOU ! :))

  • @Fraisier3 Your welcome and it is certainly not too late. We have been natural for years and never heard of sealing your ends so you are right on time!!! :D

  • so how do you clean your scalp if you only use cond.?

  • @swtcarmel1 I clean my scalp with the conditioner. I don't have problems with product buildup and have been using conditioner for over 7 years but like we always say this does not work for everyone :)

  • @UrbanBushBabes that's great! I recently stopped using shampoo... I use a peppermint oil and water mix to control the buildup and itchiness in my scalp and I also do acv rinse... this seems to work for me...I have been doing it for 2 mts. I was jst trying to see if there was something tht you were doing could learn from....

  • @swtcarmel1 Actually ACV rinses are fantastic!!! I might actually start incorporating this into my routine soon :DDD

  • Wow! You mentioned protective style and it didn't dawn on me that eventhough my hair is only 2 inches long and growing, that I could start tucking my ends in by curling them in to protect from the elements. Is it a good idea? Or not necessary yet. I have 3c hair and I'm a dude.

  • @Orlanzepol123 Hey :) Well you are at an advantage! Individuals with shorter lengths (above shoulder) who just cut their hair or big chopped tend to have stronger hair just because of the simple fact that your strands are new growth. The newer the growth the stronger the hair since your hair naturally weathers the longer it has been around plus...

  • @Orlanzepol123 (cont)... your hair is above shoulder so you don't have to worry about fraying your ends. On another note men tend to have courser or thicker strands so that is another advantage as well!

  • My goodness!! You gave me so much information that I needed Thank you:-) I am going to try these oils.

  • @NaturalJamairabic Great!!! Your welcome, so happy to provide :DDD

  • Thanks for the video. I have dandruff. Do you have any suggestions for natural products that I can use during the cleaning process that won't damage my hair while ridding my scalp of dandruff? Right now I use Selsum Blue which is quite strong on my hair shaft. I try to only shampoo my scalp and not my hair, but of course there is some transfer = damage.

  • @ToffeeBeauty Your welcome :D Please drop by our UrbanBushBabes site we have an article posted this past week on Grapefruit Seed, Tea Tree, Coconut, Garlic and Apple Cider Vinegar which may help with those issues.

  • Everything mentioned is what I just started doing, so I'm glad to know I'm on the right track! Can't wait to hear about Nikisha's regimen :o) And Nikisha, your twists are so pretty!

  • @Snomumma Thank you so much :). We just posted a video on the changes I have made in my regimen over the years! -Nikisha

  • another great video!! i was wondering since you do not wash you hair with shampoo how do you clean you hair and scalp with just the conditioner!!! thanks

  • @misssaudacity Thank you :D Well it really depends on the shampoo and the condition or state of the hair. A shampoo's job is to strip the dirt and product from your hair but in that process the shampoo can actually strip your natural oils (known as sebum), which is why so many naturals are left with a very dry feeling after using shampoo. On the other hand there are all natural shampoos which will not strip your hair. I just prefer to wash with conditioner because it works for me.

  • Great stuff!!!

  • @SeekingBecca Thank you :D

  • We will answer all your questions. We apologize for the delay. There are some serious technical difficulties with youtube concerning signing in, commenting and approval. Is anyone else having this problem :(

  • Thank u sooo much!!!! You both teach me so much for my natural hair!!! Love ya'll my sisters!!! God bless!! Keep up the great work!!

  • @MsDumelo Our pleasure and thank you so much :DDD Many, many blessings <3

  • Thanks for the videos! They are so informative :D

Cipriana, how did you style your your hair in this vid? It is so cute! Also how big do you make your loose twists?

  • Thanks for the videos! They are so informative :D

Cipriana, how did you style your your hair in this vid? It is so cute!

  • @Biejta Thank you so pleased you are finding the channel useful :DDD

Thank you again! This is my side bun defying gravity hairstyle, lol. I will be doing a tutorial of this hairstyle.

  • nice information, thanks for the video.!

  • @organicloc Your welcome and thank you :D

  • Cip's hair is so incredible omg.

  • @CRUNKKGLAM Thank you so much :DDD

  • waaaawwww...you really know how hair works.thanks for sharing!

  • @amandine78054 :DDD Thank you and our pleasure we love to share!

  • Do you notice when you take your hair down from protective styles a lot of shedding?? I big chopped this summer and have been wearing my hair braided under wigs during the colder months. I oil my edges and seal my ends every night and co-wash every two weeks. However when I take my braids out to wash my hair, I have SO much shed hair!! I was wondering if it was because I haven’t combed or manipulated my hair for two weeks.

    Thanks!

  • @Mellyro27 It could be that you are just more aware of the hair that you are losing because you are manipulating your hair less which results in more shed hair the longer you keep a style in only because you are not removing the shedding hair daily. Remember on average a person loses about 50-100 strands a day. As far as the wigs, if you wear them daily this can contribute in unnecessary shedding due to limited air circulation.

  • Got my hot oil treatment mixed up right now:Coconut oil, EVOO, Avocado oil, Jojoba oil, and Vatika Frosting (slow melted. It's basically Coconut oil on crack, lol.) My hair is SO excited right now! Wait. Maybe it's my brain that's excited, lol. But I'm sure my hair will be happy afterward! ;-D

  • @lanicert Hahahahahaha yes, I'm sure both will be happy with "coconut oil on crack", lol. You got some goodies, I would be excited too!!!

  • great advice guys!

  • @chrshn Thank you :D

  • so do you think moisture works better than protein when trying to fix (heat/chemical) damaged hair?

  • @NikitaMariia really depends on the damage to the hair and the individual. Water is always beneficial for hair but if your hair is extremely porous you just have to be careful when handling your hair while wet. In episode 7 we explain all about porosity :)

  • @UrbanBushBabes thanks i'll watch it now! :)

  • Cipriana have you ever straightened your hair or considered straightening at your current length

  • @MizzSkYe93 Yes, I have straightened my hair but that was over seven years ago and I have no desire to straighten my hair.

  • You two have a great chemistry! I enjoy and learn from your videos.

  • @TheJPLGoodReport Thank you so much!!! Love that you are enjoying while learning at the same time, this is great! :D

  • Just throwing it out there, I love getting my natural products from Camden Grey!

  • I actually just watched your other video so forget my last question LOL. But can you tell us the ratio you use for your oils.

  • @versatilemc Lol, well if you think of it, feel free to ask :) If you go to our UrbanBushBabes website and type in "Love Potion #9" in our search engine located on the right upper hand side then scroll down you will find the article and my exact measurements.

  • Nikisha I love you hair in this vid, how would you describe the style? It looks like thick finger/comb coils or maybe 2 strand twists, either way, its really cute.

  • @TheBambieyes Thank you :). My hair is in two strand twists! -Nikisha

  • Hey! This was a very informative video. Thanks for creating and posting it. Have you ever used peppermint oil? Also, with your castor oil mixture do you apply it directly to your scalp & use it to seal your ends?

  • @versatilemc Hello and thank you :D Great to hear you found the info useful. Well I only use a little castor oil in my oil concoction but use the castor oil mainly in my sealing ends routine. Yes, I do apply a little to my scalp.

  • Very educational video. Thank you. I also like seeing Nikisha in a protective style. : )

  • @TheYogina Thank you, thank you :). -Nikisha

  • hey , love your videos, I was just wonder why do you only use conditioner to wash your hair, is there something about shampoo that's not healthy for natural hair?

  • @PristinePearls Hey :D Thank you so much. Well it really depends on the shampoo. A shampoo's job is to strip the dirt and product from your hair but in that process the shampoo can actually strip your natural oils as well which is why so many naturals are left with a very dry feeling after using shampoo. On the other hand there are all natural shampoos which will not strip your hair. I just prefer to wash with conditioner because it works for me.

  • LOVE this video! LOVE your alls hair dos today... just lovely

    Great information... thnx guys! :)

  • @HoneySwtDrms Thank you so much!!!! Our pleasure :DDD

  • Happy that you did this video on oils because I was confused on which ones to buy. I have been hearing that you should not put anything moisture on your scalp and put it on your ends only. What are your thoughts?

  • @eboniemm1 Great!!! Yes I have actually just heard that placing oils on your scalp is not "necessary" because of the natural oils our body produces, which is sebum but I think it varies for the individual. I know all-natural oils have helped me tremendously so it works for me.

  • Thank you ladies for your fantastic videos, I have been doing your "sealing my ends" method for about 2 weeks now and WOWZERS, I can already see a positive impact on my strands! Thanks!

  • @MsPrivatetube Awesome!!!! So great to hear! Our pleasure and thank you so much ;DDD

  • I've been detangling while my hair is wet since that's what I've heard you should do and I do experience breakage :( My hair texture is 4c, I think it's like yours, so I will try detangling when my hair is dry, hopefully it makes a difference. Thanks for sharing your regime.<3

  • @Summerbeeuty There is more than one way to detangle and wet detangling certainly does not work for everyone. I can definitely attest to that!!! Yes, give it a try and let me know how it turned out! :)

  • when in a protective style how often should u do it throughout the week without compromising growth???..im on a challenge until june and i have my hair in plaits and have them tucked underneath each other...its gettin the job done with moisturized ends and all but after about day 4 to 5 they start to come out and i just take them down moisturize then put them back...im trying to get out of the hand in hair problem and this week has been the first that i kept out of it...

  • @Stylevloggers215 Sounds like you are on a great track. It really depends on the individual on whether they want to protective style for a week or more than a week but oils, water and sealing should never be compromised when hair is in a protective style. Protective styles are great way to increase low manipulation! :)

  • don't forget murrays, dax and bronner bros and dudleys...lol thanks for sharing queens. ;-)

  • @dkblck1958 Oh yes the Murrays Dax how could I forget, lol!!! Thank you and your welcome :DD

  • Very instructive video! Thanks for posting it!

  • @fingercombeauty Our pleasure!!! Thank you!!!

  • Great video, I am excited for the tutorials!

Why must the olive and coconut oil be extra virgin? Jw

  • @sensiquest Thank you so much! If you view episode 4 we break down the reason why extra virgin is the best :)

  • Cipriana, I was just checkout you guy's website and I see you had long hair growing up. What was your mother putting in your hair then? The Blue magic or water?

Thanks if you reply. Thanks for the info:)

  • @kisakye92 Hello, my mother was using mineral oil based products when I was little but she didn't use the product on my scalp. She also used water as well.

    Your welcome and our pleasure!!!

  • i have seen in quite a few other naturals videos and on natural websites where they make a detangling spritz. Just like your hair my hair was harder to detangle even when wet or with conditioner on it. So I tried the spritz one day and I fell in love with it and have been using it every since. There are no real measurements but here are the ingredients: water, conditioner, some oils and apple cider vinegar. It works wonders. Give it a try

  • @BlackBarbie228 Just posted an article on Tuesday, on our Urban Bush Babes site about the benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar for cleansing purposes on the scalp, the spritz sounds great! Thank you for sharing!

  • You two ladies are so helpful! Even being familiar with these tips I find my self neglecting to do things such as making sure my ends are sealed. It's nice to hear it reiterated. Almost serves as a reminder.

P.S. Cipriana reminds me of a model I saw in an H&M campaign last winter.

  • @ZannieZanana Thank you so much and even with my ends tucked away I still seal but everyone needs a reminder including us, lol!!!

P.S. Thank you, she is a beautiful!!!

  • What do you seal with??

  • @SuperModel89 In episodes 8 and 9 we explain both of our routines for sealing our ends :)

  • this question is for Cipriana will we ever get to see your hair straight?

  • @LondonJahzara2011 No, I just don't have any desire to wear my hair straight :)

  • i love how you guys break everything down by actually educating people.

  • @LondonJahzara2011 Thank you so much we love to share!!! <3

  • HOW DO YOU USE THESE PRODUCTS, JOJOBA OIL ROSEMARY OIL,COCONUT OIL AND ETC?

  • @2NATURALISTIC Hello. If you type in "My 7 Step Weekly Routine Part 2" in the search engine located at the right upper hand side of our UrbanBushBabe website you will find out all about my weekly hair regimen and how I use these oils.

  • Please get back with me:)

how often do the both of you wash your hair thats my biggest struggle:)

    xxoxox

  • @BeautyByKelliee Hey, if you take a look at Episode #1 we talk about our washing routine in detail :)

  • thANKS SOO MUCH FOR THIS BEAUTIESSS!

  • @BeautyByKelliee You are the sweetest! Thank you so much :D

  • I used to put mineral oil on my scalp thinking it was a good moisturizer *shivers* Thank the internet for enlightening me. You guys are great! Now I want to do some type of channel with my bff :3

  • @naijabarbieng Lol, yes it can definitely be scary!!! Thank you so much and go for it! The bigger the natural hair community on youtube the better! :)

  • Not only are you ladies beautiful, you're also informative. I've been natural for 12 yrs. 6 of those years I wore locs and I loved them but then I cut them off so now my hair is almost bra strap length and I'm learning how to care for it thanks to sistah's like you. Cipriana you just saved me cos I was wondering why my hair breaks off so much when I detangle it WET, well needless to say I won't do that anymore! Thx.

  • @sunnystone01 Thank you so much :DDD I'm so glad I could be the savior in preventing hair loss, lol. Seriously though, I am glad you have found a method that works. Wet detangling does not mesh well with my strands, but works well for others. When I started dry detangling birds started chirping, a rainbow appeared and I could see the light for the first time!

  • Woww...thank u soo muchh...this was veryy informativeee...^.^

  • @jnaturalez Your welcome and thank you!!! Glad to share!!! :DDD

  • very informative! I recently purchased the jamaican black castor oil and jamaican organic coconut oil from sunny isle and its all natural and its working pretty good.

  • @chyitaria Great!!! So glad you found the video useful! Good to hear! We just love jamaican black castor oil and extra virgin coconut oil.

  • Great information Ladies. Cipriana, how often do you clarify and what do you use? Both of you have lovely hair. :)

  • @mjgarner123 Thank you and so glad you found the info useful!!! I clarify once a month and remove scalp buildup once a week. If you type in "My 7 Step Weekly Routine Part 2" in the search engine located at the right upper hand side of our website you will find out all about my weekly hair regimen including buildup removal on the scalp.

  • Thanks for the video! Do you think there is an over-usage of the word 'healthy' when it comes to hair? After all, hair is not alive and it can only be retained or destroyed. It can't really be healthy.. maybe 'healthy looking'?

  • @Fatima0504 You’re welcome :) Well if we are speaking in lament terms then yes, technically hair is not alive but the condition of your hair can be Strong VS Weak or Healthy VS Damaged. The definition of health is “the state of being free from illness or injury”. You can absolutely injure the state of your hair. You can also damage through so many other issues in how your hair grows.

  • Sorry but your skin is not a breathing organ, yes it is an organ but not a breathing organ, the skin recieves it oxygen and other things it needs from the blood that is in our viens. To prove this if the skin was a breathing organ you could hold your breath and it wouldn't affect you because your skin could breath for you right? The only organs that we use to breath is our respiratory system which does not include the skin.

  • @Islandbeausty Hello and yes I know :) The changes had already been made to the video before you commented just took a minute for youtube to adjust the changes. If you view the video again you will see what I actually meant.

  • So so helpful!! I'm a new subbie! :o)

  • @Mellyro27 You're welcome and glad you found us. Thank you for subscribing :D

  • Thanks for the info!Cip and Nikisha :D

  • @kirachan13 Your welcome :DDD

  • For sisters with natural grey hair, be careful using olive oil. If your hair is porous, it is possible that your hair will absorb the greenish tint of the oil. One of my neighbors used OO for moisturizing and her hair turned the color of the oil.

  • @LeOhio817 Hmmm, I was actually born with grey hair mainly in the crown area. I have not experienced this problem but wow I could imagine if you have damaged or porous hair then this could definitely be a concern!!!
