Terrible video. Seems like as if India is made up of only cine actors. Whoever directed this does not have a clue about the sentiments of the Indian people. The first post of this 16 minute footage in two parts by was bombarder with comments in one day and flaged by hell lot of users. I hope every posting of this video including this one will end in same way. This remake has finally succeeded in uniting all Indians, albeit against it. But then someone has said it rightly, if purpose is met, all is well.
There are some insufficiencies indeed, as you all have pointed out but the objective of this is to reach out to masses, the glamour quotient needs to be on the higher side. People from small villages like Jhabua, talwada, satara, sangli may not know who amartya sen and Abdul Kalam are, bollywood stars are ironically more popular than people who actually contribute to our nations growth.
There are also issues related to celeb availabilities and their charges, if Sachin is not there in the video it doesnt mean that they wouldnt have approached him. But I agree that its nowhere close to the original version. So I give it a rating of 2.5.

There are celebrities playing their part independently. Had they come together hand in hand, it would have shown the spirit of 'Mile Sur' and would have helped keeping the version much shorter in length. How can these film stars boast of 'Mile Sur' when they themselves could not fit in one frame.
The original version was rather short, crisp and appealing. It truely depicted the spirit of the song and was much much better than the new one.

I think it is a decent attempt. I suppose it would take our mind a tad longer than just 2 days to get tuned to this version after having grown up listening to the original version everyday on Doordarshan (good'ol days!). As far as I am concerned, I like it. And I still love the original.

Terrible video. Seems like as if India is made up of only cine actors. Whoever directed this does not have a clue about the sentiments of the Indian people. The old one atleast had sports stars in it. But I believe India is not just made up of moive stars, sportstars and politician but many other hardworking, tax paying honest citizens. As someone pointed out it would have been good if they showed pictures of Sandeep Unnikrishnan and other normal people who really workd for India.

Patriotism can be shown by simple ways like--'A Soldier saluting a flag' or 'Hundreds of small hands holding together and singing "Mile sur mera tumhara"' or 'When we celebrate the festivals together' or 'When we all shout with joy when Indian team wins the match' instead of an Actress blushing or an Actor mouthing the words. There are some insufficiencies indeed, as you all have pointed out but the objective of this is to reach out to masses, the glamour quotient needs to be on the higher side. This version is a real blunder. Too Long (16 min OMG).
There are celebrities playing their part independently. Had they come together hand in hand, it would have shown the spirit of 'Mile Sur' and would have helped keeping the version much shorter in length. How can these film stars boast of 'Mile Sur' when they themselves could not fit in one frame.
The original version was rather short, crisp and appealing. It truely depicted the spirit of the song and was much much better than the new one.

The old one is definitely better and will remain in our thoughts forever. Its really difficult to coordinate so many fractions of verses and music pieces into one full song, but that's what professionals should be good at. I am dissatisfied by this new avatar of Mile Suur.
The effort is definitely appreciated. In a time when some people are really excited about small toys states, this will remind us of our heritage and culture, and of course of the old times.

Well Its how you look at it.. we are co commercial that we look at materialistic things I think it the best they can give right now cause there is nothing that can beat the old version and this is INDIA. we are getting more materialistic and more modern. Guys dont look at salman's biceps look at those children from Salman Khan's foundation
