  • And this, ladies and gentlemen, is why I am in love with literature.

  • ah. this movie scared the crap out of me -__-

  • I remember seeing this movie in preschool, I loved it back then. Hopefully I'll get the time to watch it again to see if I still love it.

  • omg i been asking abou this film for years ! i cudnt remember what it was called NOW I FOUND IT :'] Thankyou so much ! :) xxx

  • i found it at walmart in the 5 dollar section. i got the last copy tho but check your area and you should be able to find it. that or check google shopping

  • I loved this movie so much as a kid. It seemed to offer so many new routes for my imagination to go. I saw it again recently and it wasn't as good as I remembered. But it was still better than this trailer, which doesn't get the tone right at all.

  • My kids love Macaulay from the Home Alone movies so I've been trying to find this movie and can't find it anywhere. Anyone have any ideas?

  • Macaulay is a crackhead now

  • FINALLY after days of this bugging me I finally found it xD

  • aah, sweet nostalgia.:)

  • the man that made this movie also made "The land before time" so he is great vith the emotional aspect of the movies. and the animation is great :-D

  • my Cartooning and Filmmaking teacher worked on the drawings for this movie!

  • "Dr Jekyll, I am...Mister HYDDDDDDDDDDDDDE!!!!"

  • haha this and James and The Giant Peach were my favorite movies !! It came out b4 I was born tho (: loved this movie

  • I was born in '93 and 6 or 7 years later I saw this on cartoon network on the christmas night... I missed a lot this , It took me today 5 hours of searching for it, and finaly I found it on a yahoo answers page :X ! THIS IS IT !!! I remember that floor in the library, and that library man ! how dare time pass that fast???

  • @crazyrocker321

Haaha, I share the same story and have been looking for this movie for the last few hours, finally found it by going through imdb lists. It pains me how low the ratings are.

  • @stroudmears yea.. thats sad... you know... they say.. "old cartoons"... but I say "Old but Gold ! "

  • that's a LONG time ago :O

  • my childhood has been reborn!

  • Your video is a favorite on Burundi

  • So many memories, this movie had such awesome visuals for its time, heck it still hold up damn well 18 years later, that mixed style!

  • Look to the books!

  • Who else came just for Whoopi? :D

  • i remember seeing this movie at the now closed Clifton quad theater (now a walgreens)...it was the first movie that i saw in a theater that starred macauly culkin after watching the first two home alone movies on vhs...speaking of vhs, i bought pagemaster on vhs and still have it. An underrated cartoon classic. I hope they release a blu ray so that future generations of mine will experience it.

  • i was so afraid for this movie when i was a little kid especially he paint scene xD

i don't know why xD i'm happy that i had find it xD

  • The characters remind me of the following:

    The Boy = Harry Potter

The Dumb Book = Frankensteins monster

The Fairy Book = Wanda (From fairly odd parents)

The Pirate Book = Yosemite Sam (Bugs Bunny)

:D Thumbs up if you think so too

  • Oh my god, I remember masturbating to this as a child, oh the vivid memories, good times

  • i was tossing and turning replaying the scenes of this film, i couldn't think of the title! i remember culkin, i remember dr jekyll & mr hyde, the paint dripping from the ceiling. AHH, i love this movie!

  • Can't believe this was 1194, Miss my childhood *Sigh*

  • The Jekyll and Hyde part used to terrify me as a kid.

  • what was the name of that childhood movie with a boy using a red toy car to enter an animated world ?

  • I vaguely remember book people things.

  • I used to be fuckin' obsessed with this...

  • Did anybody see the resemblance of Kingdom Hearts and Pagemaster?

  • @BulletThunders not really..

  • @acjub

A kid goes through different and exciting worlds with companions and risks going through dangerous odds. Apparently you don't pay much attention, do you?

  • @BulletThunders So there is one thing they have in common. I wouldn't really call that much of a resemblance..I mean KH is pretty complex.

  • @acjub So is pagemaster.

  • @acjub

And Pagemaster uses a very popular cast just as much as KH (They both have Leonard Nimoy too). There is also an emphasis of comedy here and there just like KH. And finallly, in Pagemaster, you meet very "familiar" characters (unless you've never read a book) like captain long john silver and Dr. Jekyl & Mr. Hyde (it's just the same with KH, infact, people who've watched Disney movies or played alot of the Final Fantasy franchise could recognized alot of characters in Kingdom Hearts).

  • @BulletThunders People who watches disney and plays final fantasy would recognise the characters in KH? Who would have though!

  • @acjub

Oh, you're one of those guys.

  • @BulletThunders Haha, what guys? I just found it a bit funny because the game is a mix between Disney and Square Enix. I mean it's sort of a given that you recognise them.

  • @acjub

Well, you sounded a bit troll-ish.

  • @BulletThunders Yeah well it's nearly impossible to even be sarcastic without being a troll or a hater now adays..

  • One of my favorite Disney movies!

  • @nba2k11stump It isn't Disney....

  • @nba2k11stump This isnt made by Disney lol

  • this is the greatest movie ever made. parts of it scared the shit out of me as a kid, but i loved every minute. kids movies are never scary nowadays

  • I have this recorded on tape.... and I need to see it again.... now :D

  • Loved to watch this on Cartoon Network

I'm proud of my childhood :)

  • NOSTALGIA

  • BLESS! I was trying to remember the name of this movie for ages! I saw it so long ago I couldn't even remember that it was Macaulay. So happy. Now to find the movie so I can watch it again. It used to be a favorite. (that and James and the Giant Peach) <3 90's.

  • Back when kid actors were only trying to act like kids in movies and NOT brooding bad vampires

  • wow i have not seen this film in prob 18 years now, i might have to go buy it, it wa sone of my favourites when i was a kid

  • Mr. Hyde used to scare the living fuck out of me when i was a kid.

  • I was born in 1994 hehe, i loved the rainbow color dragon, like a roaring wave

  • this movie freaked me out when i was little lol. especially in the beginning when he was chased by the liquid dragon in the library

  • omg i searched for about 2 years for this movie! finally found out the name! :DDDD

  • 0:41 the best "yesss" in the modern history.

  • lol. Wait till u graduate and start working with kids on the way. "GOOD OL' 90's." I feel ur pain. lol

  • i saw this when i was 5 and was trying to remember the name of it for a long time.....

  • Well, actually I do vaguely remember the scene when he's bullshitting hid dad about statistics and when he leaves the book world, or something.

  • I saw this movie at least 3 times when I was 10, and I don't remember a fucking second of it.

  • The part about Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde still, to this day, makes me shit my pants.

  • I was thinking abut this earlier today and couldn't remember the title from my childhood, just found it looking at 90's trailers, now I know the title I think I'm going to pay a visit to HMV :D

  • i vividly remember the paint dripping from the ceiling

  • @candlewhiskey

    haha, me too.

  • @candlewhiskey Same. That part scared me as a kid.

  • classic soundtrack

  • Where the hell the chariots come from? That part wasn't in the movie!

  • such a brilliant childhood film

  • This was one of my favorite movies as a little kid, and yet I can't even remember most of what happens in it. Also, I'm crying a little bit. No shame.

  • I remember crying so much for Horror because I felt so bad for him for some reason haha. My mom had to pry me away from this movie because I got so upset during it but it was like a drug and I couldn't stop watching.

  • Lol I remember this :D it has it's charm but nothing compared to the big Disney movies.

  • I saw only a couple scenes of the movie when I was young. Took me years to see it again.

    I Love this movie <3

  • @xXBlueDiamondsXx That's a sweet childhood memory. I have similar memories of my older sister and me. I'm 23 now and my sis is 28. But when we watch movies like this together, we feel like kids again. X3 Enjoy your childhood as long as you can, bro`. :)

  • I remember this movie was the creepiest but "awesomer" film of my childhood

  • Also yeah, it was kind of terrifying, but that never stopped me from watching it over and over as a kid.

  • awww,we're watching this in our english class,I love this movie however it came out 5 years before In was born its adorable

  • Wow, I was 7 years old o.o

  • I love this movie but it's really dark and creepy. I remember enjoying it but it also kinda scared me and made me sad.

  • OMG I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO REMEMBER THIS FILMS NAME FOR AGES! finally re found it :D it was my favourite film from my childhood

  • The animation was nice, and the music was enjoyable to listen to, but there really wasn't much in terms of story. As for the song "Whatever You Imagine", it's a great song, but I think it would have been more fitting for the end credits. In this trailer, the main instrumental theme from James Horner would be more appropriate, but that's just my opinion.

  • GOT TO GET TO THE EXIT!!!!!!
