  • they dont test for any of this active or inactive bullshit. these are cops were talking about, remember.

if theres the slightest hint of weed in your system, you bet theyre saying you were high as a kite.

  • The trace's of marijuana found in someones body for approx; 30 days is infact 'inactive' marijuana traces. Unless it is relatively recent after smoking a joint or two, otherwise it is then 'inactive'. irra

  • People are making all these statistics about driving and deaths from marijuana because the average pot smoker it takes about 30 days to get out of your system and not have THC in your blood. so someone could get in a wreck almost a month since they smoked marijuana and still the politicians will say it was caused from marijuana. Your high on weed last anywhere from an hour to 20 hours depending on how much u smoke and what the quality of weed it is..

  • So the average person for one marijuana experience stays high 2 hours and 15 minutes. Marijuana stays in your system average of 30 Days. So all those statistics that say marijuana related accidents are wrong because there is a .3/30 chance that they were not even high or effected at all by the marijuana.

  • @xGCxWEAZEL

That traces stay in the system means nothing as they are 'inactive' traces and affect no one. irra

  • dui under pot is ridiculous, i went though drivers ed high as a kite every day, the only thing the teacher ever said was " you dont close your eyes even when you sneeze" ... its a bodily function that your eyes close its impossible at least for me to do so. seriously if your gonna get into an accident because your to dumb to pay attention while not high your gonna do it while hight, like the attorney said " you cant fix stupid"

  • FREE MARC EMERY !!!

  • I dont like the words about ending the war on drugs. I agree with the war on drugs. Drugs ruin peoples lives, kill people ect, i support getting rid of them. However, i beleive Marijuana prohibition needs to be ended immediatly. Although marijuana prohibition is a part of the war on drugs, I dont like when people say "lets end the war on drugs", when clearly they want marijuana prohibition to end.

  • Driving high isn't that dangerous. Not like drinking, anyway. I know a few pizza delivery guys who love to smoke weed at work. If you're high you can still pass a roadside sobriety test easy. A cop would only suspect marijuana if he smelled or saw it. That's it.

  • If I am being honest... driving stoned affects me worse than being drunk. It might not affect people as much who smoke pot constantly though.

I know of cases where the person was stoned and did not pass the field sobriety test. Even saw someone who was on a show similar to COPS, I think he rolled through a stop sign or something. The cop picked him up and he was obviously stoned as hell. He did not pass the field sobriety test..

  • I gotta try some of that shit!

  • @empbac

I do not have a problem with marijuana being made illegal..... just saying that driving stoned is not a good idea for some people.

  • I can believe that. Factors like dose, tolerance, attention, and practice are important. And everyone is different. I think it's not good for some people too, but it doesn't affect everyone that heavily. The sobriety test is the only thing that should be necessary to see if someone is too intoxicated to drive, and each person needs to be responsible and recognize when they're not in driving condition. Breathalyzers, blood tests, and silly laws need to go.

  • This policy would be laughable if it wasn't so horrible for this country. To think that people support this prohibition is remarkable. Point by point, the prohibitionists have no answers for the failures of this policy. The waste of resources and time is bad. Ruining people's lives over this plant is even worse.

Even if it were dangerous, that is not justification to make it illegal. The fact that it is safer than alcohol makes the policy even more mad.

  • who cares about the drug content in their blood?

If theyre clearly intoxicated and cannot drive then they should be arrested for DUI.

If they can function well and seem coherent, it shouldnt be an issue.

If they are involved in an accident and they test positive for drugs, they should only be charged with a DUI if they were proven to be the cause of the accident.

when high, people are aware of their intoxication. alcohol strips them of their senses and self-awareness

    this shouldnt be an issue

  • @PartVIII

but even if they were the cause of the accident but they smoke a few days ago? its still in there blood but it had no effect on the accident so why should they get a DUI? there gonna have insurence and a ticket to deal with and that shit is enough already

  • @cuishi14

inhaled THC has a half-life of around 1.6-59 hours depending on dose and frequency of consumption. the high from smoked cannabis lasts around 4 hours. if THC is present in the bloodstream after the accident, they can compare the concentration of THC and its metabolites to determine the last time they smoked. if it was within that 4 hour time period, they were driving under the influence.

they dont do that today because you shouldnt have THC in your system to begin with.

  • Its not about justice its about making arrest and filing charges with long prison sentences. That's how the criminal justice system funds itself and funding/money is the real bottom line in this fascist nation.

  • good luck Nevada !

  • Legalize It!!

    peace
