  • I suppose if you don't like the grinder you have... you could just feed it through this. :P

  • @YoungJim409 Haha -- very true :D - Kat

  • Great grinder. I think it´s even bigger than my "Bregant DSQ" commercial grinder which is already an overkill for a home-barista (around 14kg, 64mm burrs). The K30 is definitely faster... o.O

btw. love your videos. Keep them coming. Maybe you could do some blind testing of different machines. Maybe the LM GS3 vs. Silvia with PID. Would be interesting, if somebody of the crew can spot the difference.

  • @talion1983 Glad you like them! We have done some blind taste tests so far - between the Rocket & the Silvia and the Rocket and the Musica. But we will do more! :) - Kat

  • Ps.: try watch Kyle Glanville fm. Intelligentsia he also flush watch?v=hEb1rXP3aTU

  • Why dont you ever flush the machine prior to the shot?

  • @Palshoej On a machine like the Linea, it is not only unnecessary, it's counterproductive to stable brew temperature. This machine has double boilers, pulling directly from the reservoir; it's holding the brew temp at a stable rate and flushing would pull cool water in, possibly adversely affecting the temp. In many of our other videos on machines that should be flushed, we either do that prior to shooting or I edit it out for time considerations. - Kat

  • @SeattleCoffeeGear I will not give you quite right, flush has two purposes. 1st to keep shower screen clean of coffee ground, 2 Stabilize the temperature of the shower screen and distribution screw! At a Linea 2 gr the brew are boiler 3.4 liter, if a flush of 2-3 seconds should have influence on temperature stability, so will it be af failure to build it as 2 gr. I always flusher my GS / 3 ahead of a shot , the same with the Linea machines I use. Regards Henrik

  • @Palshoej You don't have to give me right at all if you don't want to! From speaking with one of the primary techs at LM, these were his recommendations, so I'm sticking with that ;) - Kat

  • Wow I love how fast that grinds!

  • @TheSampleLife Big burrs are where it's at! ;) - Kat

  • Do you think it's better than Mazzer ? One person said in another video that this grinder was known for clumping but I don't see much clumping here.

  • @klarinetta Neither the K30 or the ProM (or any of the other commercial drip-grind specific grinders they carry) have had any kind of clumping issue that we've seen; but part of clumping is the coffee being used and maybe we haven't used coffee that is clumpy on these guys? Velton's Bonsai Blend can get pretty clumpy in some grinders and we ground a ton of that in the ProM at the recent coffee festival with no clumping issues, so not sure. - Kat

  • @SeattleCoffeeGear Please check this video out and the comments people make. That grind does not look good. watch?v=yOgAV15laSE&feature=related

  • @klarinetta Yeah, I don't know what to say. As stated before, I can only share my personal experience and I have no idea of the history or coffee used re: that grinder. It looks really dark, too, and really dark roasts can also contribute to clumping. Not sure what else you want me to say here; in my experience, so far, the Mahlkonigs perform well with minimal clumping. - Kat

  • yay.......

    gail, my favorite presenter !

  • @ecki74 Mine, too! :D - Kat
