Such amazing dogs! I love ALL terriers, but these are one of my faves, and if one ever came up for adoptions I'd adopt it - my last adopted dog was a JRT, he was 19 when he died :'-( I only have ever owned rescue dogs, so have only ever had two of my own, we had a few dogs when I lived with my parents, but you can't beat the terriers!

I am destroyed so sad, can't stop crying... used to have a border terrier, a very cute one indeed and he was killed by two pitbulls when mistakenly crossed to the neighbor's house... it's such sad news ... border's are by far the most giving, lovable dogs one can have.

Dont you just love Borders,I now have a yorkie crossed with a Pappion as my Border Passed on last june almost a year now..I wasnt going to get another but he was sent to me by my late Border Pebble....
@The1andonlygamer yes exactly lol border terriers are originally bred for hunting and killing rabbits, however we trained ours to let the rabbits into our "pack" and now he just plays with them : )
@xrsist just introduce the pup to the bunnies through a kennel while hes still young first, as their instinct to chanse and kill is inborn. soon, just y'know , after he sees the bunnies, gradually let him sniff them or something, let him get aquainted while someone is always nearby or holding the pup, eventually as he ages hell lose interest and accept the bunnies into the pack :] but in the first year or so, always be supervising while the dog and the bunnies are alone just in case

I've walked past countless chipmunks and she just takes a glance and continues walking. Cats on the other hand, well she's killed a feral cat not much smaller than her and came out without a scratch.

@lonelybirdlax border! im 20 and had my first one when i was 5 yrs old and it was like besy friend, very loyal and attentive dogs. and when she died we bought another one 4 years later, she is just as great and we just bought a puppy border terrier for the other one to play with and they are sooo funny, better than watching tv

u are supposed to strip them of their fur twice a year. when it gets super long you NEED to pull at it and well rip it out. doesnt hurt them tho. It just naturally comes out. If u dont pull it out bad t hings will happen . No not rly but ur dog will be in a great amount of discomfort. U don want that do u? so just give him a bone and pull out his long fur : ) "dont pull too hard tho, if its ready, it will come out with a good tug :3 "

This is exactly like watching my own border terrier!! He once snuck a Fruitella and ate it but it got stuck on the roof of his mouth and all he did for about 30 mins was lick to try and scrape it off the roof of his mouth!
I'm happy to see this. I was told by a BT group that they never succesfully heard of a border being reliable around other animals. Even ones that grew up with cats and lived with them for years, eventually attacked for some reason. I have a cat. It's the main reason I gave up on having one...for now.

Our wee Bryn looked just like this. Right down to the ear tuff dreads. He'd go mad for a bit of cheddar. A real character and a gentleman.
