If Jesus says the Spirit will teach you all things and the Spirit speaks to you through your heart, than I think it's probably a good idea to listen and LEARN to understand when it's the Spirit speaking in your heart or something else.
The Bible can lead you astray just as easily because your interpretation is so subjective 1000 people will have 1000 different interpretations.
But that being said, the Bible IS the word of God, but you have to understand that God is not a God of confusion. If their are 1000's of different Christian churchs it's because there is 1000's of different interpretations of the Bible from well-meaning, probably very righteous people.
Christ foresaw this problem in interpretation of His truth and gave us the gift of the Holy Spirit to help us.
It's the same reason we have the judicial branch of the government. Learn to use this gift!

There is a reason that the Christian faith has thousands of different sects. Because every sect believes there interpretation of the Bible is correct. If you only rely on your own interpretation of the Bible and reject the impressions of the Holy Spirit you will fall into a similar trap. They are still righteous people though.

Aaaah...so you live according to the old testament. Not a problem. I've not seen such twisting of scriptures in a long time. The story of David and Saul does NOT regard doctrinal/theological/Gospel issues. AGAIN, I nor no one I know have ever said "these men must be destroyed." Hinn should be brought back into the fold and prevented from going about BRINGING strife & contention among GOD'S people. Quoting a man is NOT "railing." Look up the word.

Yes, I once stood right in front of Benny Hinn when he drove out of a meeting in saint Bernard parrish LA He looked at me with my sign that said Benny Hinn is a "Covetous Wolve" and he Broke out Laughing at me. He was setting beside Tommy Tenny. ("They Laughed all The Way to The BANK!") Where was His Zeal to "Curse any one that Speaks against this Ministry" --As He Braggs. The Secular Media has documented his living in sumptuous pleasure at the expense of ignorant poor sheep.

I don't agree when this guy says the scriptures are the standards and you can't trust your feelings.
That is exactly opposite of what Christ said. He said that "The Holy Spirit will teach you ALL things and bring ALL things to your remembrance..."
And what are the fruits of the Spirit? They are feelings. Peace, Love, Joy etc.
EVERYONE has their own interpretation of the Bible.
Therefore we must pray and listen to the FEELINGS of the Spirit to discern if our interpretation is correct.

God says:
"The Heart is Deceitful above all things, and desperately Wicked: who can know it?" (Jeremiah 17:9)
There is a differance between being lead by the Spirit of God, and being lead by the fleshly mind and claiming it is "The LORD" God Condemns Pastors in Jeremiah 23 who Speak :"Thus Saith The LORD" Out of their Own Hearts that which The LORD has NOT spoken. He says They prophesy out of their own hearts. Test it!

The heart CAN be deceitful. No one is arguing that, BUT, that doesn't mean it is ALWAYS deceitful.
If Jesus says the Spirit will teach you all things and the Spirit speaks to you through your heart, than I think it's probably a good idea to listen and LEARN to understand when it's the Spirit speaking in your heart or something else.
The Bible can lead you astray just as easily because your interpretation is so subjective 1000 people will have 1000 different interpretations.

But that being said, the Bible IS the word of God, but you have to understand that God is not a God of confusion. If their are 1000's of different Christian churchs it's because there is 1000's of different interpretations of the Bible from well-meaning, probably very righteous people.
Christ foresaw this problem in interpretation of His truth and gave us the gift of the Holy Spirit to help us.
It's the same reason we have the judicial branch of the government. Learn to use this gift!

If someone tells you to do something contrary to the word of GOD (the bible which is the STANDARD) IT IS NOT THE HOLY SPIRIT SPEAKING THROUGH THEM! do not be so gullible! Start thinking Critically! Christians will continue to disagree with each other and miss the mark that Christ said "You must be one" One of their reasons is they rely solely upon their interpretation of the Bible...somehow never realizing that everyone interprets it different. @Ratd0g28 To finish the thought, Satan's way is to divide and conquer. God's way is strength through love and unity.
Until a people is found that can both study the scriptures and learn how to recognize and accept God's inspiration from the Holy Spirit we will continue to be divided which is not God's way in the end.
Christ did not call 12 Apostles to teach 12 versions of the truth. If there are 10000 different interpretations of the bible that means 9999 are wrong in some way.

@Ratd0g28 the holy spirit is not emotion, emotions are controlled by the heart, the heart, the heart can be extremely wicked, if you followed your feelings 24/7, you'd get into a lot of trouble with god. i understand trusting in god, and the spirit, but you have to have discernment as well, as easilly as the holy spirit can influence, so can a demon, and it can disguise itself as a good blessing angel of light. be very careful, trust the word, it's worthy for reproofing yourself.

@Terrybob123 I don't recall ever saying that the Holy Spirit was emotion. What I did say was (one) way for the Holy Spirit to speak to us is through Love, Joy and Peace.
There is a reason that the Christian faith has thousands of different sects. Because every sect believes there interpretation of the Bible is correct. If you only rely on your own interpretation of the Bible and reject the impressions of the Holy Spirit you will fall into a similar trap. They are still righteous people though.

@Ratd0g28 oh, yeah, i definetly agree, the holy will teach you everything you need to know. and there are a lot of false prophets out there that twist the word thinking they are right, and refuse to reproof their understanding of doctrine with the bible. they don't want to correct themselves when they are wrong, thats bad, and also people can be mislead, thinking the holy spirit is teaching them something new, that contradicts the bible, now that comes from demons, imitating the holy ghost.

Beware of these False Teachers such as Benny Hinn who lead people to hell. They deceitfully divert people's trust away from the Word of God and by doing so are themselves on their way to hell. What do False Teachers do, they destroy souls, and they themselves will be destroyed. (2 Peter 2:3) Ask God to expose these wicked teachers with his Word and ask for gifts of the Spirit such as Spiritual Discernment to reveal these things to your heart!
