  • We have a silver spotted tabby Devon Rex who is now 4 months old. So lovely to see how he will probably turn out and those expressions are so familiar. Do they sit on shoulders too?

  • Oh and do they! They climb on us, follow us around, use us as steps and platforms, etc.. :D They are so energetic and strange cats, no-one ever believes us when we talk about devons. But as soon as they visit us and see what an extraordinary creature devon rex is, everyone's just amazed!

Congrats for your devon! You will find out that it needs a buddy to play with, and soon you'll realise you're living with a whole bunch of devons :D

  • I have a Devon. When she sheds, its so teeny, like if you or I lost an eyelash. Thats it. They are adorable and mine is by my side 24/7, it takes some getting used to...they are so unique. Talk to a Devon owner so you know what you are getting into...some are very needy!! Cute as buttons, I'll give them that!

  • From what I understand, there are 2 types of cat allergy. One is to the hair and one is to the body fluids like spit, etc. (it clings to their skin flakes when they wash themselves, so that's why with the skin flakes). I know technically it is in everything but I read there are 2 kinds of allergy. Some breeders will send you a packet of their fluff to tape to your face and see if you are allergic. Are these Devons or shorthairs though?

  • These are devon rexes, like the description says.

  • Too cute!!!! (I love how the one sitting on the sofa is just like "Yeah... whatever." XD) I have severe cat allergies, but one day I went with a friend to their neighbors' house (they were pet-sitting while the neighbors were away). They had two Cornish Rex cats and one Devon, and I was really surprised that didn't have a single problem with them!!! I've really been thinking about getting one now, they're such cute, sweet little things...

  • Hey, those are beautiful cats. I've been looking at buying a Cornish Rex for about six months now, but I'm just as partial towards getting a Devon. How expensive are they, in relationship to a Cornish rex?

  • I don't know where you live or whad do they cost there in general. So it's hard to say. You might want to ask your local breed club for reference.

Difference between the cost of breeds is not significant. Larger breeds tend to cost more because food costs are higher for the kittens.

In my opinion, devons are a LOT cuter than cornishes.

  • do they noticably shed?

  • No, only very light and soft fluff.

My husband's asthmatic, and he gets along with them very well :)

  • good, my dad is very allergic as well, and im trying to get my parents to let me have one.

  • You might want to go and visit a breeder with your dad. Or few breeders. And remember that the fur itself is not the thing that causes allergy, it's the skin flakes and saliva, also urine and feces. They all contain the protein that causes the allergy.
