This works perfectly without modifying the existing bottle. Awsome idea Sean, I just finished fixing mine. Much easier than getting the bottle out of the fire with my multi-tool. The "Chocolate block" is called "European style terminal strip" at Radio Shack in the US.
Hey Sean what if ya just put the cable in it and then when you need to suspend it pull it out put a toggle in the end then pop it in the top of the bottle and lift.
great idea but you can also get these tiny wire crimps from the hardware store made of copper for about a penny a piece, if the electrical thingy is a bother. same exact set up.
Cheers for that ill take a look. Looking forward to your new vids. I have been looking for some leather samples to make some pouches. You've got some cool ideas! Cheers, Simon
Sean can you find out where one can buy the 38 ounce bottle like the one you have in the video? I have looked at many places online and they are either sold out or no longer sell them.
Really nice cook set. I like the simplicity of this kit and how it all nests together. I have tried so many different set ups and I like the home made hobo stove & cook set combo the best. Great stuff.
Sean, Im not sure whats between the inner and outer walls of your canteen there, but is there a chance that the heat from the fire will cause pressure to build up between the walls and cause the canteen to explode? Just curious! Cool mod though, those blocks are available in Radio Shack.
Great idea Sean! I especially like how your not drilling into and damaging the bottle. If I can ever get my hands on one of those bottles, so hard to find one right now. Hope to remember your design to use. Awesome...
I had an English jewelry instructor once. She always said 'sold-er'. As opposed to Americans who say 'sodder'. I still slip and say it in the English manner on occasion.
Hey Sean, where can I get one of these? I see they have been sold on amazon in the past but can't seem to be able to find one. I'm in the uk by the way. If you could get back to me that would be great! Cheers, Simon
Nice mod and good that you didn't have to drill any holes. I just saw a clever and easy method of hanging these bottles a couple of days ago in one of Dave Canterbury’s videos. See timeline 19:27 in Dave’s video /watch?v=ES59LtA7XE8
Thanks. After days of searching, I finally located a Guyot dealer that was not sold out of the bottles. After seeing the manufacture itself was sold out as well, I bought the first available bottle even though it was not the 38oz, and it had the taper bottom that I dont really care for.
Any bicycle shop will have scrap cables in their bin, just ask nicely; I use them for hanging plant pots. Gear cables are thinner than brake cables and still perfectly strong enough.
that`s a good idea,,,

'Nip it up', also an English expression.
Does your wife ever go out with you?

My wife can not think of any thing worse than camping, except for camping in the woods. So no, she never comes out with me.

Turn Mr. Fox into a glove puppet. Use sticks to operate his legs.
Maybe you could use his tail for a willy warmer while out in them cold woods.
