I work in Florida in a school that is 89% hispanic and the rest are African American....they have very little time for us to practice. I have to be very creative....practice during breakfast..lunch, etc......they all LOVE to sing...can you give me some pointers?

Altos and Sopranos. The ones in Yellow are the higher singers (Sopranos) and the purple ones are the lower singers (Altos) Not to sure on the exact names since im in mens choir and we have bass, baritone, and tenor but i'm pretty sure thats how they seperate kids because at that age alot of boys and girls still sound the same.

it's amazing how much faster kids can learn lyrics to a song than they can learn anything else you try to teach them... if only I could put my entire curriculum to song!

I think the original (White Stripes) version works because of the sparseness - since the choir works by filling the void with a very full sound, this might not be the best song to cover. It certainly doesn't sound bad (as if they could), but there's too much sound (if that makes any sense). Maybe an a cappella version would be better?
